This place has not only amazing, fresh sushi they have a very engaged owner who is always walking around, helping and saying hi, and an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff!!! Always the best experience - just don't be surprised if you have to wait an hour - even at 8:45 at night! Don't fret, the owner is likely to come around for a chat and to pour you a glass of wine while you wait!

We have been coming to this place for the last four years and it never ceases to amaze. We have eaten an extraordinary amount of sushi all over the world and this is by far the best sushi we have ever tasted. The flavors are incredible. The biggest problem with coming here is that you want to keep shoving sushi in your face until you are completely miserable but you still can't wait to come back! We also appreciate the fun, sexy atmosphere ❤️ Steve the owner and his wife are absolutely delightful people.

We always love this place. We dream of their delishish sushi. We live in Houston and make it a priority to go here whenever we can visit Austin. Small hole in the wall with the best dishes ever. We love 2beer, live scallop, spicy garlic sashimi, the shooters and the sauce that comes with the calamari on EVERYTHING! Great amazing service. Can not recommend enough!

I walked into this place about 7 years ago and fell in sushi-love! My partner and I have been regulars since and I would confidently say it's the best sushi in town and I've been to all the supposed best. Steve and Tina and the staff make us and their customers feel at home.

Found another new sushi place and it’s right next to my new favorite Thai place. Double win! Also saw some nice art work on the wall created by the owner. I wanted to buy (or at least commission) and I was told she doesn’t sell her pieces. It also doesn’t hurt that they are playing some of my favorite 80’s music in the background (Talk Talk currently playing as I type).

Ok, so you know how like in life.., you find that you really dislike something and you walk away from it and then come back to it with hopes that you might've changed your mind... Like beer, wine, or black licorice? Right. Typically I hate sushi. I came here because it was like, the nearest place with the most ratings and they were all high. Also a few of the reviews said they might be packed, which is a good sign, I think. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I don't dislike sushi. . . Or whatever it was that I ate. I just know I more than liked it. And that random dude in my life that said I don't like wasabi can suck it! Now is it the restaurant or a change of heart? Guess I'm going to have to find out.

Tomo is our "go to" sushi... never a bad experience. The place rivals Sushi Roku in LA, it's that amazing. The Four Play and the Miller rolls are unbeatable!! ❤️❤️

My fav place! Great rolls! Also love the cherry blossom and sashimi bombs! And if you like it really hot, I dare you to try the “Slowly” roll (not on the menu)

Wow 🤩 As a sushi lover , I can say this is a grate place to try. You want to make reservation or be willing to wait a little (short wait) , we went on Saturday night. Prices are good , the presentation of the food is clean and fresh. YES! I do recommend this place! Easy parking and location. The staff is very friendly 😄

Went back to Tomo to introduce a few friends to some of the best sushi in the Austin area. We split an omakase dinner, and everything was delicious (as always). My best recommendation is to tell the wait staff how much you want to spend and let them take care of the rest.

Tomodachi Sushi is a must-visit for any sushi lover in Austin. The fish is always fresh, the dishes are unique and creative, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The only downside is the limited parking, but it's worth the hassle to try this amazing restaurant. The restaurant is located in the North Austin neighborhood, off of Parmer Lane. The menu features a wide variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes. Tomodachi Sushi also has a full bar, with a wide selection of sake, beer, and wine.

Hands down best sushi in Austin. Feels so cozy and bustling in here. The nigiri tastes as good as omakase quality with added toppings recommended by the server and chefs. Tempura is also great. Fast service and reasonable prices. I’d recommend calling in advance to make a reservation, they’re always busy even on weekdays.

We love eating at Tomo! The sushi is delicious and the service is top notch. Always a good time! The Miller roll, angry beaver, and yellowtail sashimi are our favorite.

Has a nice variety on the menu, but I'd call it somewhat of a middle weight sashimi spot. Staff is friendly. Seating is limited and it's very popular. It's pretty loud, so I'd go somewhere else if that's an issue for you. Edit forgot to say: The Hawaii roll (not on the menu) was pretty amazing 😋

Shhh. One of the best kept secrets in Austin. Request the omakase, sit back and enjoy. No need for soy sauce. The fish is the star of the show here…

Wonderful sushi. Traditional sushi with a twist of fusion, wonderfully executed dishes with focus on fresh fish. Great sake options as well! Susanna is one of the best waitresses I’ve ever dined with, and I really appreciate their hospitality.

Hands down BEST BEST BEST sushi in Austin. Such a tiny little hole in the wall of a gem. Better make reservations as you can’t walk-in and get seated as easily as you could in the past. Every single dish I’ve tried has been incredible, but the Ex-girlfriend is a must have!
