Place was awesome!!!!! Great bar, beds were great, sheets were freaking amazing and I know it sounds weird but the smell in the rooms was awesome!!! Apparently they have a patented scent just for The Driskill. I’ve always wanted to stay there, so glad we did. Will definitely go back, and recommend to everyone!!!!
Having our New Year's Eve wedding at The Driskill was one of the best decisions we have ever made! Living in Austin, we always knew of The Driskill's history - so when we got engaged, we thought we should check it out for a venue. Well, once you see the Mez Ballroom - you won't want to look elsewhere! There are also so many other rooms that come with the Driskill wedding package - including 5 suites the night of your wedding! We had a large wedding - 220 guests - and right from the start, The Driskill was amazing. I had the opportunity to work with both Hannah the first 6 months of the year and then Kristin the last 6 months of the year to help with planning. Both were top notch! Our wedding was definitely expensive and my parents had some questions along the way - every time we reached out to Kristin, she would respond within a few hours (even on her days off)! The entire weekend of our wedding was magical - Kristin and the ENTIRE staff at the Driskill went above and beyond for all of our families/friends coming into town. The day of our wedding, the staff made me feel like a princess. I always had a drink in my hand, Kristin helped me fix my dress when anything went wrong, and they made our wedding party feel so at ease. You really don't even need a wedding coordinator (if you're organized like my mom was) because the staff here is incredible. I cannot recommend The Driskill enough as a wedding venue - small, medium, large weddings - it's the best! Thank you for everything Kristin and team!
First class hotel. Very different from any other place I have been. The bakery had the best cup of cappuccino I have ever had.
Beautiful place. Top notch customer service. Would recommend as a wedding venue or just to visit.
Just had drinks and snacks at the bar, always excellent service even when they are busy! Perfect food and drinks, beautiful Texas historic setting, doesn’t get any better!

Absolutely loved The Driskill! We only dined there, we didn't spend the night - however, we plan to! The place is absolutely beautiful; the staff is friendly and welcoming; and the food/drinks are top notch. But my favorite part of the place is the intense feeling of history that you get being there...
I would with no doubt, would recommend this Hyatt hotel 1,000 times. They were so lovely to me and my family while we stayed there. The man at the front desk named TY was super understanding and was amazing with my check in. Over all I can’t wait to go back and have a lovely stay
Such a beautiful place. We just went in for a drink at at the bar and the experience was great!
Beautiful hotel with lots of history. I’ve stayed here many times. I highly recommend.
My wife, daughter and I dined at the Driskill on Friday night. The food, drinks, service and ambiance were exceptional. I highly recommend this place, and look forward to returming soon.
Being a 27 year combat Veteran in the US Army, I have stayed in many hotels in many states and in many countries. The elegance of the Driskill is second to none with a professional staff to match.
What a way to spend my 51st Birthday!
Excellent food, great ambiance & wonderful knowledgeable staff! My Mother in Law was tickled to meet the Chef!
Excellent staff, room and location. We enjoyed every minute of it;)
We came for restaurant week(s) and were not disappointed! The Driskill always has unique flavors with their dishes. I will say my favorite dish was the dessert: the brioche bombolini! Just very unique donuts with lots of fun sides like a bubblegum foam and raspberry sauce. Thank you, Emily!
We dined at the Driskill Hotel for Thanksgiving. The food, service, and atmosphere were perfect!
Beautiful hotel. Ate at the restaurant. Or server was amazing. She was all by herself and so pleasant. Food was delicious
We went to the Driskill hotel to see the Christmas tree and stopped at the bar to have a drink. It’s a must during the holiday season.
I went to the bar, it's an amazing hotel to see. The lobby was beautiful. The bar was great. I loved it.
This is probably the nicest bar in Austin, TX and one of the few more upscale places you might actually see people dressing up a bit more and not wearing flip flops... although you might still see people in here with flip flops. This space has a fantastic ambiance along with often having live music and they provide excellent service here in a very comfortable and classically elegant environment.
Great hotel bar with live music in the evening. Has a cool Texas theme to it. We had a few cocktails and appetizers. Everything tasted great and wasn’t terribly priced for being in a hotel
The Driskill Bar and dining room is a great atmosphere. Our server was kind and we got our food fairly fast. The chicken caesar salads were delicious and the lettuce was very fresh. The Pork Belly tacos were nice and tender. And as we were eating, to our surprise we saw a band setting up to perform! Would go back again and recommend to everyone
This is the most comfortable and most beautiful bar I have been to. You definitely know you are in Texas when you are here. The leather couches and the big Long Horn on the wall add to it's stunning decor. The food was great and the service was wonderful too! We enjoyed our time here. 🌟👏]

Love the bar here! IThe food was good, the vibe was perfect and it was super fun because South by Southwest is this weekend and there was a very diverse crowd! Also, it definitely has the haunted vibe if you’re into that kind of thing.
Andrew was my bartender. He has been with Driskill for 15 years, is pleasant, and pays great attention to the customer. The scallops were delicious (bit only get 2 for $23), though a little under seared. The cocktails are delicious and filled to the rim. I recommend a visit if you are in downtown Austin.
Great drinks in a setting that is almost museum-like but still relaxed. The bartenders were all super helpful and knowledgeable. Went two nights in a row while I was only in town 3 nights. I didn't get a chance to try the food but I heard really good things from several people I was with.
The atmosphere in the Driskill is classy but unpretentious. It honestly feels a bit out of time in the best way. The cocktails are great, the beer selection features local craft beers, and the staff is friendly and skilled. Not to mention the bar is located within the historic Driskill Hotel, which is downright majestic.
On January 28th, 2017 we had the pleasure of having our wedding reception at The Driskill Victorian Room! Everything about it was magnificent...from the stay in the Yellow Rose Bridal Suite, to dancing the night away & the white-rose petal send off on the main floor of the hotel.
The staff & service was unmatched. I started to plan about 7 months ahead of time with the wedding coordinator on site named Hannah. The main room where most weddings and receptions happen at The Driskill is the 2nd floor Mezzanine. While that was beautiful and exquisite, it was a little too "grand" for my party of 120 people. Hannah worked out the budget in detail with me & met me at a place I felt comfortable, offering the fabulous two story Victorian Room.
After we chose the location, our next order of business to work out was the food. We are HUGE foodies and LOVE local, healthy, gluten-free (whenever possible) & DELICIOUS eats. We did not have it in our budget to serve a sit down dinner, but we did want stations of food with servers at each station. Some upstairs, some downstairs & all different types of seating arrangements. Some furniture & couches, some lounge areas, some bar & stand up tables & some traditional sit down tables. It provided a truly unique dining experience where people could freely move about the room to mingle & interact. After a couple tastings provided by The Driskill (when I say provided, I mean they literally treated us to a 5 star dining event!!!), everything they designed for us was Gluten-Free, by our request, & most of the food was locally sourced. This was HUGE reason we chose The Driskill... their food is really incredible! No matter how many questions or requests we had, the staff was able to answer every one of them in an incredibly timely manner.
Our final menu choices were:
As guests entered and grabbed a cocktail (we did an open bar!) passed appetizers consisting of:
-Prime Beef Tartare (a custom menu item they worked out just for us!)
-Pumpkin Seed Crusted Quail
-Lamb Lollypop
Dinner was stations of:
-Shrimp & Grits Station
-Texas Inspired Small Plates
---Oven Roasted Venison Loin
---Texmati Spanish Chorizo stuffed Banderea Quail
---Shiner Bock Braised Short Ribs
(they also provided delicious kids meals for the little ones!)
The Bakery & Chef Tony Sansalone did a phenomenal job on our Gluten Free Strawberry Amaretto Cake. He even designed a surprise grooms cake (a request I decided on pretty last minute) which was REALLY special. They recreated their traditional 1886 Chocolate Cake into a gluten free version shaped like George Harrison's Les Paul Guitar, "Lucy". It turned out beautifully & none of the guests could believe it was gluten free.
The wedding day went off without a hitch, thanks to the attentive staff & positive attitudes all around! I stayed at the Yellow Rose Suite with my sister & the bridesmaids arrived the morning of the wedding to get ready together. We had hired two ladies to come and do the hair & makeup for all the bridesmaids/wedding party in our suite, which worked out perfectly. I HIGHLY recommend the Yellow Rose Suite because of the space it provided. The Driskill catered a delicious & beautiful buffet lunch.
As soon as we were ready Hannah came & got us to make sure we were on track for the schedule ( I can't thank her enough for her professionalism & how well she stayed on top of everything!). She made sure our first look went off without a hitch, got us to the church on time after photos, and was waiting for us when we got back from the ceremony. She guided us up to our room where we had dinner already waiting for us & our favorite cocktails. She gave us some private time & about 20 minutes later, she guided us down to our reception! It was the best service we have ever received. We felt like royalty.
I never had a "dream wedding" in mind. But I can't think of a single detail I would change! Thank you to The Driskill for treating my family and I to exceptional service and a night we will never forget!
ps: Tamara Jones, the concierge, is AMAZING!
Great drinks, nice and friendly staff, historic environment and tasty appetizers.. you have to try the pretzel and the BBQ Board is a great meal for two. Nice place for a first date and a great place to celebrate 🎉
The drinks and food were great! Service may have been a bit slow, but not enough to bother us and our server was very attentive to our needs. The live music was really nice and the musicians were skilled.
Great spot for bourbon and relaxing. It's a popular place for hotel guests and is hopping during happy hour. It's not cheap, but we enjoyed a few adult beverages here. Very old school, if you're into that vibe.
My wife and I love the historic hotel bar here. Good service, good food, good times 😊 We had the local IPA beer which was tasty and the bartender knows how to pour a beer correctly with a nice head of foam. The smoked wings and seasoned fries were tasty. There are lots of great places to visit around that area. Will visit this place again 😋
