I came in during non-peak hours, 1 PM-ish on a Wednesday. Had the local sandwich and a frozen vodka lemonade. Super good, it was basically brunch on a sandwich and the biscuit was delicious. I feel like vodka lemonade is pretty hard to make wrong, but also hard to make memorable. Besides being blue, it was expertly prepared, had a decent amount of alcohol, and was served with a neat steel straw. I got the choco taco for dessert decorated with sprinkles. My bill seemed a little steep at $36 for just me, but my experience was excellent so totally worth it!
This place was absolutely amazing, all the way from the hostess, bartender, to the waitress. The food and drinks were to die for. Each bite hit every taste bud where you felt the food. I can not wait to go back to try more off the menu!
I have been twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times the food was excellent and the service was great. The servers made some great recommendations. I have had the Steak and Eggs for dinner and the Casbah for lunch. The biscuit that came with the fried chicken and egg was the best I have ever had. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and the Ranchero Sauce was worthy of the finest Mexican restaurants in town.
Glad I ran the gauntlet of Saturday football screaming to make it to this oasis of relaxed fun in a vast desert of shouting young conformists.
Great drinks, relaxed atmosphere, fun decor, great attitude among staff and fellow patrons alike. No giant TVs. Good selection of mostly-80s mostly-punk music loud enough to hear but not loud enough to hurt.
New favorite bar in town. Did I mention the drinks? Craft cocktails so crafty I'd call them art cocktails. Yeah, I said it.
The place is amazing and food is on point! Great cocktails and an awesome staff behind the bar and on the floor.
Attended a Graduation celebration and was Blown away by the staff and food! Highly recommend this place. Burger was off the chain!
The food is great! Huge portion sizes and mighty tasty flavor. The service was fabulous and I loved the decor.
Totally worth it! Cool menu, excellent service (thanks Brett) and come on, a huge picture of Iggy?
Food was good, the vibe was groovy and an on the spot 80's new wave playlist…what's not to like!
Very cool spot, friendly staff there, homemade biscuit are the best I've ever had.... Whole menu is fresh, local, homemade and we will definitely be back.
Fantastically cool and swanky restaurant. Terrific eclectic food choices not to disappoint. Wait staff super friendly!
I didn't get to try the food but the drinks I had were awesome! The staff / bartenders I interacted with were super cool and nice. I loved the music and decor!
Sunday brunch was AMAZING. Well worth the wait (tons of places to walk around while you wait). Awesome atmosphere and employees. The grilled cheezus is the best thing that’s ever happened to me!!
This place rocks!! Amazing food, great music, and a delicious bloody mary!!
Awesome staff and very tasty food. The specialty cocktails were very creative and tasted great. The atmosphere was perfect with a very inviting bar and great decor.
Came here yesterday for the first time and I was really impressed! The cocktails are delicious, the service is stellar. Our server was funny and attentive. The bartender creatively crafted cocktails for us, personalized for what we were in the mood for. We shared the trash fries. Yum! The vibe here is super cool. Great decor. Can’t wait to come back and try more delicious delights on the menu.
I spent a good time with my guests there, the brunch quality was good, but they only offer regular coffee as hot drink which I expected more. Pancakes are good and flavored, I ordered with fried banana which was awesome.
Such a delicious brunch! After the trash fries , I realized how sinful the food was and totally understood the name! The trash fries and banana pudding (yea, we had them for brunch) were so good but those pancakes made with yellow cake mix made me rethink life! So good!
Holy Roller's "The Local" is a excellent choice for those who are craving a sweet, meaty, and hearty brunch. The BBQ pork combined with the bisquet sandwich is so good! 😋
As a added note, the pancakes are fantastic as well. My girlfriend ordered them and wasn't disappointed by the fluffiness of the pancakes. They go great with the banana and cream.
They let us sit even in even though we were 5 minutes late, they were awesome. Food was really yummy and the atmosphere was cool. We had the turkey melt and chicken with biscuit (cant remember name). Definitely a place to check out!
It is rare that we each find a separate menu item that we love at the same restaurant, and we never thought we’d find it here in the epicenter of the outdoor bars on W 6th St. We saw this place on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and the meatloaf sandwich was featured. It is definitely in the upper echelon of meatloaf sandwiches. The same goes for the dense chicken pot pie that my spouse declares is one of her all time favorites
Went for brunch where you can expect a LONG wait (we waited an hour), but worth it. Gave up on a table and sat at the bar — what a good decision. Our bartender was the coolest guy. Entertaining, fun conversation, and made killer drinks. Recommend the “don’t call me, I’ll call you.” Best biscuits I ever had. Plates were deceptively large and hit the spot. Highly recommend
Great brunch spot. Food was great and full of flavor. Portion size to price is perfect. Definitely put your name in early because this places starts rolling around 11:00 am.
Fantastic food, ambiance and service! Sunday brunch was delicious~ The berry and peanut butter smoothy our server gave us for free at the end of our meal was a "sweet" touch as well!
One of the best fried chicken biscuit sandwiches I’ve ever had! It was HUGE for only $14. The chicken was fried to perfection with some sort of cornmeal coating. I would’ve liked a little more sriracha butter, since I could barely taste it under the massive hunk of chicken breast. The biscuit was very good, although it crumbled very quickly when I tried to pick it up. In general I prefer my biscuits a little flakier and more buttery. I also got the cookies n cream yellow cake pancakes, which were amazing - not too sweet like others have said.
Overall, I appreciated the care put into every dish here, although the menu was a little uninspired. Great atmosphere and service, too.
Awesome environment with attentive staff. Went there for brunch this Sunday and it was a 25 min wait to get to our table. We all had a mixture of food. We had Brussel sprouts, trash fries and those appetizers were amazing. Then our group had the local sandwich, the casbah, fried chicken with Sriracha pancakes and banana pudding pancakes. Every thing tasted amazing and we were all satisfied.
I'll start off with the bad to get it out of the way: this place is so good you'll probably have to wait. I've been here half a dozen times and the only thin that wasn't stellar was the time it took to get a seat. All of the food I've had is amazing but the pancakes stand out. I think they may be the best in Austin. I've only had a few of their cocktails, but they were all tasty as well.
Great place to go for brunch - get there early or be prepared to wait 1.5 hours. The Grilled Cheesus was amazing. Street parking or pay per hour lot across the street
Place does a good job of feeling edgy without forcing it and welcoming without being irritating. Everyone seems cool and without the pretense.
Street salad with steak was fun. Total play on street corn, felt the dressing was a bit heavy but the popcorn was a fun touch ( but I got a couple of hardckernals which could cause damage). Surprised they didn't ask how I wanted the steak cooked but it came out medium on a highway to well done.
Trash cake is a fun idea, thought frosting on a spoon was cute. Cake was juuust underdone making it pretty moist without being raw but i wish it had included the overcooked/chewy sides of a cake. Also didnt care for the hard candies on top.
But a good experience and plenty ty on the menu to try that I'll be back.
This place was buzzing the moment they opened and for good reason. We ended up sitting at the bar, which still has full service, and we were helped right away. We got the migas and the casbah and both dishes were amazing for flavor, texture, and portion size. If we were spending more time in Austin we would definitely come back to explore more of the menu. The team at the bar was extremely helpful and attentive.
Fun little downtown brunch spot. There was a pretty long wait for weekend brunch, but we just went on a walk downtown while we waited. The nice thing is they text you so you don't have to wait in the crowded front desk area. We had the popcorn tofu melt which was aaawweeeesome! I also had a Topo Chico "shrub soda" with pear and sage. Kind of an odd flavor so wasn't my favorite. Overall, it's a fun atmosphere. Looking forward to going back to try more things!
Awesome staff and incredible food. Sit at the bar (especially if there is a wait) - awesome service and some custom craft cocktails. We had trashy fries, the meatloaf sandwich, and the migas kolache and all of them were divine!
