I just want to thank the sweet lady Katherine that even tho she was off the clock she still managed to made our experience there to be amazing. She is the best waiter for sure. Everything that we try me and my boyfriend was delicious 😋 the food was fresh and hot. If y’all ever feel like eating fish for sure this is the place to go. I can’t wait to come back and have more of this food 🥰!!!

There's a reason this place has been around like 50 years. Fresh crispy hush puppy sticks first to the table, like the way that some restaurants provide breadsticks. And then perfectly fried new Orleans style catfish and breading dusted fries. Try it in that unnaturally green tarter sauce. Cool vintage decorations really make the space unique. Don't mind the sagging ceiling panels. Get you real well fed for a great price. They'll even cater to your gluten allergy. Come here if your body is good and processing oil calories. I'm coming back the next time I'm in Austin for sure.
Good food and fast service. We kind off looking for something near and new after shopping at an Academy store in Austin due to some heavy rainfall. We saw the reviews and stopped. It was a good choice. Our waiter was fast on taking our order and friendly since we only saw him moving around the tables. He looked very calm and didn't seem he wanted to rush with our order. Good that we stopped, food was delicious and the place was relaxing. The music was nice and the decals and pictures were nice to look at. A place stuck in time. Over all a good hang out place and good food.
I love this place during lunch! You get all you can eat veggies (buttered corn, black eyed peas, coleslaw, hushpuppies, etc) and then order any friend or grilled seafood by telling the cooks. I appreciate the self service. It's a delicious spot to visit for lunch because it's quick and easy.
I personally prefer the regular fried catfish over the spicy catfish.
The hushpuppies are my favorite thing in the world!!!!!!
One of the good and local seafood restaurants in Austin. Love the consistency flavor of the fried catfish with spicy crusted seasoning. Place may need a bit of update and obviously showing its age.

Tasty food with healthy options- my go to us the grilled catfish with some greens on the side - ad to the deliciousness - the service is also helpful and cheerful- good opportunity to support your local establishments in Austin.
Our group really enjoyed our meals here. Established in 1973, over the years, several fun and funky items have accumulated for customer viewing and amusement. But, that Catfish crust...oh my! Everything that we tried was yummy. Great place...great food.

Good place to go for fried catfish. The hushpuppies and that jalapeno tartar sauce was good. And I thought I didn't like tartar sauce. The self serve Ceasar salad bar (dont look for tomatoes) was an extra touch to a good meal. The fish came out piping hot. The fries were also hot. The green beans had a sweeter taste but not bad, just different.
I chose the lite meal and even with that I was stuffed. Will definitely return

All you can eat hush puppies.
Do not expect anything trendy here. Fried or grilled catfish with all the fixin's. If that is what you are looking for, you will not be disappointed. It is good enough that i could tolerate the portrait of Nixon on the wall.

Amazing gluten free grilled shrimp, fried catfish (designated fryer), hush puppies, salad, veggies, rice, corn, beans. Great gluten free sea food option! Reasonably priced!
