Never experienced Peruvian food before and this was a great introduction. Appetizers, meals, dessert, and drinks were all amazing. Service was wonderful. Don’t let the low key atmosphere fool you, this place is 5 stars. Will definitely be back.

I work so close to this place and have had so many reasons to go but haven’t gone yet. My friend and I were going to watch a film nearby and she suggested she wanted seafood and so I said we should try Lima. We were sat right by the door (my shoulder hit the sanitizer pump at least 12 times) and every time the door opened the heat blasted my back. I didn’t want this to take away from my experience so I just ignored it as best as I could. The wait staff was so short and I couldn’t believe the influx of reservations that pulled in—we walked in with about 10 patrons and left with the whole house full. Food: the sweet plantains were incredible with the sauce provided, the chicken tamal was so perfectly seasoned, the carapulcra was so unique and tasty (super peanuty vibe), the ceviche with sea bass was incredulous, and the alfajores were the best I’ve had. The waiter told me that he had lived in Buenas Aires like I had and we both agreed that these were better than the ones in Argentina. Drink: the pisco sour traditional was boozy and perfectly balanced — eventually we were given a whole bottle of water and it was super beneficial. As we were dining, there were at least 40 patrons who entered with reservations and we still got adequate attention. I would return to try some beef dishes but overall I was super happy with what we tried. The live music made the evening special and I’m so happy to know this place is keeping things Peruvian and special to their country.

The food is always good here. The Ceviche Limeño is a favorite, but we went with the Anticuchos (beef heart with Perúvian corn and potatoes), and Lomo Saltado. Both were delicious and solidified Lima Criolla as a favorite all the way around. We also tried the Lima Mule, and both mango punch and chicharrones. It's central location and quick service make this a convenient stop along 35 or 290/2222.

I got the Chica morada drink, Tallarines verdes, and Lomo saltado limeño. The drink reminds me of a plum and grape flavored drink. The tallarines verdes pasta was good. The steak in it was a bit chewy. It also came with two potato that were shaped like boiled eggs. The lomo saltado limeño steak was good. The fries in it were good too. The rice was okay. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Food was good, hot, & fresh. If I lived nearby, I would return often but, we were visiting Austin. They were nice. My only issue is that where we sat, near the window indoors, there were many gnats & a fly. Food was so good we ordered empanadas & more plantains to go. The outdoor area near the restaurant was beautiful so I'll post a photo & video of that as well.

The food was absolutely incredible. I haven't had chica morada or mazamorra morada since I went to Peru, and it sent me right back. The chicken was fantastic. I will be coming again, the wait staff was absolutely lovely. Not many good pictures, but I got one of the rice pudding mixed with the mazamorra morada! Even if you don't know Peruvian food, the descriptions on the menu are VERY detailed so you know exactly what you're getting. There's every kind of food, I was with a big group and everyone's food looked incredible (and everything got eaten!).

The food was delicious. Fried rice is nothing that I had before, full of flavor. You just have to try it. Come early cause they get really busy really fast.

I love Peruvian food and in my opinion this is the closer to home style Peruvian you can find in Austin. Their menu has a good variety of dishes. Service is lack luster but decent. After 3 visits, I can’t say I’ve had any friendly waitstaff. Pisco sours are delicious. I love their chupe de camarón, lomo saltado, and anticuchos. Most of their soups are delicious and their carapulcra is super tasty. I recommend it but wish they welcomed you a bit better, it would add a nice touch.

Nice authentic Peruvian and very close to other cool spots like AFS. Worth checking out as Peruvian options are limited in Austin!

Service and food here is great. My fav is chupe de camarones. Ceviche is good as well and perfect for summer days. Anticucho is good for appetizer.

One of best Ceviche Peruano, My wife had beef and I had bistec a la pobre. We both had cocktails and shared ceviche and a dessert. We were blown away by how delicious it all was. We asked the waitress for her recommendations and she did not disappoint. I will be eating here often I thought the service and food and price was all outstanding.

Positive: Food is really good! I'm so happy that I finally found a restaurant with awesome Peruvian food in Austin. I highly recommend! Room for improvement: Service. We placed our take out order online, and 25 minutes later arrived at the restaurant. After we get there is when the staff realizes they received our online order, so we had to wait another 20 minutes for them to get our order ready.

Lima Criolla first opened when I lived in Austin the first time several years ago. It was quiet then, but with delicious food and great service. Now, it’s always busy and for good reason. The food is still delicious for a reasonable price, great service and warm and inviting atmosphere.
