I loved a lot of things about this place, it was really homey and the ambience and vibe was really nice and upscale, even though the prices aren’t high end. We loved the pork belly bun and the beef pho, really hearty. I appreciate that the pho broth was very balanced, not too bold or overboard, hit the right notes with the right temperature. The curry broth was good too but we preferred the classic. Their service was really good, and we had no complains at all. If I were to be nitpicky, I’ll say maybe a bit more veg stuffing in the bun but that’s really not that big of a deal. We will definitely come back.

We had a perfect dinner at Bun Belly this evening. Service was prompt. Our pork belly spring rolls were good, pork belly bao as well! Chicken pad Thai satisfied. Atmosphere was pleasant, jazz played softly in the background. Bathrooms were clean.
Worth it score: 50/100. Right around the middle. The pho noodles broke easily, could’ve been firmer. The flavor of everything was good. Good service and atmosphere.
The salt and pepper rogue was surprisingly good, but 4 tiny pieces for $5. I would expect around 8.
The pork belly in the spring rolls were a bit on the drier side.
Texture and flavor on the turmeric fish was good.
Overall, everything about evens out to the middle, hence the 50/100 worth it score.
Would come again for the tofu, but not often.
Stunning place! Wonderful atmosphere to come relax and enjoy an amazing meal. Decor and music is soothing and calming. Food is absolutely too beautiful to eat, but when you do, your tastebuds will dance! Missed taking a picture of the beef belly bao but was absolutely delicious! Took a picture of my lunch and can’t wait to try more!
Went with a group of friends on a Sunday lunch hour. Between 6 of us we each ordered a little bit of everything. Food came out timely manner and was extremely excellent in taste. Will be returning soon.
We came in for dinner and got seated within few minutes. Service was a bit slow but the food was worth the wait. Enjoyed the ambience of this place.
We got the eggplant bun and it was delicious. The eggplant was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauce was salty and sweet while the bun was soft and chewy. For entrees, we got beef and chicken pho. Enjoyed both of them, I felt the chicken pho could have some more stronger flavor
I love this place so much! Delicious chicken pad Thai- favorite in Austin! Light and flavorful beef pho. The pork vermicelli is perfectly balanced with the fresh greens, soft noodle, and crunchy cucumbers, amazing bun bao. The service was great, and the restaurant was cozy and very comfortable. All in all- amazing! I definitely recommend.
Had the beef bao, crispy noodles, and fried rice, all of it was yummy! The beef was very tender, the crispy noodles and fried rice were very flavorful! Came out fast too, lots of good choices on the menu!
Pork belly bao was slightly dry but everything else was delicious especially the sticky rice bites just wish there was more ! Was pretty empty at 7pm but the guy was nice and accommodating to us, we got the fried rice and and curry noodles which had a nice kick
Absolutely delicious every time I go. The bao are perfect, and they make their own bone broth for the pho, simmering it for 24 hrs. The sake cocktails are interesting, and they switch their menu up fairly frequently. The only downside is that they’re currently short-staffed, which means that when it’s busy, the service is very slow. But the people who work there are lovely.
Great restaurant, some changes needed.
- Service was great. Polite and friendly staff.
- Decor and atmosphere is good for dates and eating out with friends
- Pho is the best I’ve had in Austin, tastes authentic and homemade. Few options though.
- lemongrass vermicelli - super yummy!
!! - Sober noodles we had was quite salty and it is spicy - so for non-spicy foodies, you’ve been warned.
- eggplant bao - yummy, light on the sauce so you can ask for extra.
- salt and pepper tofu is crispy, served warm and well seasoned.
- pork belly was okay - not prime cuts imo. Good presentation though.
!!!! - it is hot and humid in here. Please turn on the air conditioning next time. Humidity and heat makes for a less enjoyable experience.
- portion is good, some left overs.
- gluten free options listed.
I unfortunately didn’t get to try the bao this time around but the noodle dishes were fantastic. Its amazing food for these colder weather days
The food was yum! The beef belly bun was exquisite! The other main dishes were also tasty. Would definitely recommend for a fun date night that isn’t too pretentious.
Ordered takeout and was not disappointed! The pho was very different from anything I’ve had it was very fragrant and clove, cinnamon forward, flavorful but not my typical favorite flavor profile for pho. The boa buns were great. The owner was very nice and answered all my questions. Curious to try other things on the menu.
AMAZING!! Hear me out! My girlfriend and I love this place, the owners are there themselves and make sure you get the best service! I love the beef Bun which you will see in the picture and we also love the Pad Thai here, it’s currently out favorite Pad Thai in Austin! The owners (couple) are extremely nice and welcoming, they are super sweet!
Extremely delicious. My friend and I got the chicken pad Thai, pillowy soft pork belly bao, and the crispy Vietnamese crepe with pork. Such an excellent meal!
