I came for the breakfast buffet on a Sunday at 7:30 am but was informed by the lovely waitress that the hotel only makes the breakfast buffet available when hotel occupancy is close to 100% which wasn't the case today. I decided to stay anyway and order from the menu an American Breakfast, which came out pretty quick given I was the only customer. It was tasty, well presented and a good value for the portion given. I removed a star because the seasonality of the buffet should be made clear. I particularly enjoyed the strong coffee they serve as well as the high quality silverware and china used. Those little details really do enhance the dining experience. If they were to also use non-disposable containers to serve the ketchup and mermelade, it would be a big plus.

We've loved this place for years! The pasta bar on Wed - Fri is our favorite for lunch and that spicy cajun sauce is so yummy!

Have been coming to their lunchtime only make your own pasta bar for almost 25 years now. It has different pasta options (spinach fettuccine, bowtie, spiral, penne, and two more idk), sauces (Cajun, Alfredo, marinara, pesto), and ingredients (shrimp, ham, chicken, sausage, mushroom, artichoke, bell peppers, corn, tomatoes, spinach, black olives, onions, garlic, and more). Definitely underrated and recommended. Large portions.

On our road trips, we've eaten in a lot of hotel restaurants with very mixed results. On a road trip to west Texas, chance had us eating at the Onion Creek Grille in the Austin Southpark Hotel. Bravo--a great setting, fine food, and Francisco proved a really a great server.
For lunch, I had the tortilla soup and--thanks to Francisco's ingenuity--a big side of vegetables. My husband ordered the tuna salad melt on marble rye. Everything was fresh and tasty and the restaurant manager came out and asked us if we enjoyed lunch. Great food and excellent service!

Huge, specious restaurant giving you a luxurious feeling. Lovely decorations. Helpful staff. We had a little bit of misunderstanding regarding my order but they did their best to fix it. Would go back for their amazing MARGARITAS and for their delicious baked potatoes, topped with yummy cheese!

This is a good restraint. The food was very good. The staff were very courteous. Prices are a little expensive; but the portions are large.

The pasta bar is amazing. They only have it open Wednesday thru Friday tho, from 11am to 2pm. The atmosphere is a little outdated but the food makes up for it.

Great service and food

Excellent place if you like pasta and like customizing what you want. They make the pasta in front of you - quite generous portions - and you can customize what you want (meat, veggies, type of pasta, type of pasta sauce) - it’s cooked fresh and I love it hot and freshly cooked.
Probably they should advertise this hidden treasure a bit more!!

So much good pasta!!! They cook to order and you won’t go hungry!

This hotel restaurant was surprisingly good. My lunch and dinner companions were pleased with the choices and amount of food on each plate. The hot sandwiches were as tasty as they were beautiful. We shared a banana bread pudding for dessert. The bananas were sliced in half, topped with a thin layer of sugar and then caramelized. This was the best cooked banana I've ever had. Delicious!

Very pleasantly surprised by the food. Burger was on a perfect brioche bun and fresh sauteed veggies on the side. Best hotel meal I've had other than Four Seasons which is $400+ a night. Kids meals were the same quality as well. Pricing was very reasonable, especially for a hotel . The dining room decor is not much better than a Perkins but don't let that dissuade you.

We went for lunch. They have an all-you-can-eat salad bar, with a one pass through the pasta bar. The pasta was great. They make it to order and with whatever sauce you want and whatever items you want in it. Since the pasta bar is only a one-time through, I ended up having multiple pass-throughs the salad bar. The salad bar even had grilled chicken breast for your salads. I ended up taking my pasta home and splitting it up into another three meals. It was delicious.

We have been here a few times... it's handy with a nice ambiance with ok food.
The staff are friendly and the garden area is really nice... fast service... a little pricey for the quality of food... but definitely worth a visit

Love this place. It is all you can eat as long as you eat it there. Pasta made right in front of. A wonderful salad bar. The chef there is amazing. Has been there for ever and does a wonderful job.

Breakfast - terrible. The quality of the food is not good.

Dinner - again limited menu and the actual dishes are pretty low quality. I had a Mushroom Ravioli which looked like it wasn't actually made, just boiled from frozen and a splash of white sauce - which looked like it was out of bottle topped off by a few sun dried tomatoes and some sautéed mushrooms - which looked like the only thing they actually cooked. Total $29 with one beer - as I said pretty rubbish!

I thing an in and out burger was better quality at a fraction of the cost!

Staff was kind and very responsive. The buffet is really a continental buffet with open grill (which ups the price). The pancakes and scrambled eggs were overcooked. As he was making pancakes he beat them with his spatula(making them tough). The burner was out on biscuits (cold).
We were truthful when asked and not charged for breakfast. So we would return if at this Omni Hotel again and give this another shot

Awesome cheeseburger. Crab cakes were top notch. Best of all, they serve IPA beer.

Really luv this hotel restaurant. I'm an Omni Select Guest so was happy to book this hotel for an overnighter in Austin. And was very happy with the hotel. But, I digress. Went down for dinner at the Onion Creek, saw the empty buffet line and said ' Uh oh, this isn't gonna turn out well'. I mean, we all know unless you're staying at the Ritz Carlton, Marriott Rennaisance. or Hyatt Regency you're probably not going to get good food. Sat down anyway, you know, captive audience. Limited menu but it covered all the bases. Chose the Filet of beef with bourbon sauce, fingerling potatoes and asparagus. Service, I must add, was exceptional. Young, cheerful guy named Joe. Very handsome, too. Cocktail offered and brought, quite good. Bread and some iffy dipping buttery-garlicy stuff brought as well, meh...so so. Then the entree. Let me preface this by saying, I'm sort of picky about my beef and have lived in Texas for 8 years now so I've had some experience with it. This filet was, perhaps, the most beautifully cooked piece of beef I've ever had. Spot on, medium rare and the sauce was VERY tasty and restrained. Asparagus was just as well done. Potatoes were way underdone but who cares? Seriously, well done by the chef and the server. I thought the value was good too. I would definately eat here again. And again, And again.

Excellent service, appealing presentation of breakfast buffet (2 stations), tastes food. Breakfast is breakfast but it's great to be served so well and have your usual food taste even better. Portion sizes just right. A little bit of everything goes a long way especially if you like to sample like me. Highly recommend this place. Good strong coffee to wash it down, not your diluted farmer brothers brand.

Having lunch buffet as well and it's just as good. Too bad I'm still stuffed from breakfast. Wish they had capers for pasta and anchovies for my salad or else is jump right in.

Love the Ruben sandwich and the Bison chili is the best.
