It's the only buffet I know of that has such a wide array of Indian dishes. You can get rasam soup and spicy dal as well as goat curry and dum biryani. The chicken tikka is fantastic as is the vindaloo. It also comes with fresh naan and dosa delivered hot to your table. Where else can you get all that at one time? This place will become my regular Friday lunch stop from now on.
First time dinning here for my Birthday
Worth the money.Great food
Will be back again
Excellent fish vindaloo and pleasant service! I love their idea of a 1-5 option for selecting your preferred level of spice.
Great food and great service. If we lived closer we would go all the time.
My first time dining here and the food was delicious.
We tried the Saturday buffet for lunch. Staff is friendly and quick. Ambience is decent. And coming to the food, it is good and not spicy but a bit costly ($22 with tax) when compared with other restaurants.
It has both veg and non veg buffets.
Starters - chilly chicken, apollo fish, Tandoori chicken, Gobi 65 are good.
Entrees - chicken tikka, chicken sagi are good. Sambar is good too.
Desserts - Jilebi, gulab jam and halva are good.
Added pictures, please check. Must recommend for a buffet.
We eat here 2-8 times a month. They are always on point with the order. The service is always very friendly and welcoming. I won’t eat anywhere else. Out of all the Indian places I’ve tried this is the best in Austin !!
Spice has amazing food. The chicken Tika Masala was very tasty and creamy. I suggest number 3 spice for a perfect balance. The service was a little drab, and the atmosphere could use an update. If you want great Indian food, Spice has it all.
This place was set up as a buffet all you can eat when I went and don't let the name fool you. They also serve non spicy food and for vegans they also have no meat options.
I found the staff to be very helpful and kind and the food was.
Prices reasonable.
I'll be returning to this place at some point in the future if able.
This is my first lunch buffet at Austin and I really enjoyed.
All items are really tasty and fresh and really worth every penny.
Veg and Non-Veg starters and really crispy and tasty.
The main course is also good.
Definitely recommend and I will visit soon.
We did the Buffett. Very tasty and good spread. A must visit for casual visitors.
Very accommodative staff.
As an Indian food enthusiast and one surrounded by dear Indian friends, Spice is an excellent and well executed restaurant. Their buffet is stunning and the last of few in Austin. Very nice and hospitable staff. You will not be disappointed. An extensive vegetarian selection too, in addition to meat.
This might be the best Indian meal I've ever eaten. Wonderful food! I ordered Lamb Rogan Josh with 3/5 stars spiciness. I will tell my friends about this restaurant.
No dinner buffet, Menu ordering only. Opens at 5pm had the goat curry, heat at #4 very hot and delicious
Had side order of chicken 65 to was ok
My wife had Chicken curry heat at #2 delicious and best is the hot fresh bread.
I will be back!
Delicious food with lots of flavor! You can get spicier food if you’re interested (ranges from 1-5). They have the classics and more! Very hospitable. They have great hours and they’re open LATE which is nice since everything closes so early around here!
A satisfying experience. Dal was authentic and stood true to its taste. The fish was well cooked too. Appreciate the efforts. The restaurant needs a upgrade as the furniture is wearing out at each booth and is very evident.
Solid 4.5 star
Stopped by for lunch with a few friends. Group was a total of 5. Food was delicious.
Service was great, establishment was clean.
Pros: large portions on the servings, drinks were refilled at no charge, wait staff was ahead of the game and provided separate receipts for each person when came time to check out. You can customize the spice level (1-5) on each dish you order. Paper straws were being served.
Cons: physical menu was really worn down and could use replacement. Menu was also extensive in the amount of dishes and makes it hard to decide on something to eat. No knife on eating utensil set, we only got a fork and spoon.
Lunch was around $15 (without tip) which includes the dish and drink.
I’d definitely eat at the establishment again.
Love this place! Spice is our go-to restaurant for Indian food. We’ve been coming here for years and make the drive from downtown to have dinner here, the food is that good.
Service is very friendly — we’ve never had a not-great experience with the folks at Spice.
I believe they are doing some renovations to spruce up the interior, so left 4 stars on that. But it’s always clean and nicely lit here.
I’m vegan and their menu is so helpful to guide my order. Our recommended order —> Bhindi Masala, Chana Masala with garlic naan. And of course for starters we recommend the Dal Tadka with Bhatura to scoop!
