Chinatown - Austin - Photo album

I had a great lunch with my mom and dad. It’s always good to spend time with family and enjoy a great meal. Chinatown has been around forever. It’s one of Austin’s Classics.
Great food, lots of parking. Excellent service.
Ordered salt and pepper shrimp, salt and pepper calamari, mapa tofu. Mapa tofu bit watery but salt and pepper was good. Good interior too
The restaurant is upstairs. Food was tasty and portions were good. Service was attentive. I ordered king poa shrimp which was not very spicy but it was tasty. Went at lunch and was seated immediately.
My family likes to get dim sum. This place is one of our favorites because there is usually little to no wait and they have a great selection. They may have fewer carts than other places but we’ve found that the quality is high. We enjoy their dumpling cart because they’ll crisp them up on a griddle
Our group of 5 came together here and instead of sitting upstairs we decided to sit on the first floor. I had to adhere to a no fiber diet and I knew that the dim sum would be available for that. My friends wanted the regular menu so our waiter kindly accommodated us. The garlic shrimp is a favorite
Decided to eat here while we evacuated our home town. The dim sum was pretty good. They have 2 types: the steamed and grilled. They go around asking you which type you prefer. We also ordered the honey dipped steak and spicy duck with steamed rice. The service is good for the most part. We had diffe
Love that they have hot mustard in the sweet and sour sauce served with egg rolls. The wonton soup was some of the best I've ever had! I ordered the lomein and lunch menu beef broccoli, and both were delicious. You can also request that they make the dishes spicy. Also, the wine selection here seeme
Stopped in for dinner. Have not been there in several months. The tables were spaced out more now to give enough room away from other diners. The food was delicious and the service staff was very friendly. It was a very nice atmosphere.
Well executed Chinese food. The prices are a few dollars more than what I would expect to pay elsewhere but the food is tasty and well prepared without falling into the traps that Chinese food often leads to - overly greasy, too salty, or over sauced. All the items we ordered the just right from the
Neat deco. The vegetarian dishes were delicious. There's a tofu claypot that had variety of vegetables in it. The shredded eggplant was very good too. A bit pricey but i will definitely come back again.
Sunday brunch dimsum is available. I was waiting for 30 mins to get a table here on Sunday. Dimsum was good. But I prefer new fortune's dimsum (more variety). If you prefer to cozy and not that noisy dimsum restaurant, Chinatown is the one!
Look forward to next visit to give 5 stars. Food was great. Atmosphere is pleasant. Service needed some work, but it was also Christmas and packed. So not giving much of a knock because of that. Just have to cone back when it's not the only game in town and packed to the gills. Otherwise great exper
I had a lunch meeting with a business partner and it was delightful, the ambience and attentiveness of the restaurant staff was on queue. Next time I'm Austin I will definitely return for a visit.
