The Mediterranean Chef Cafe - Austin - Photo album

I’ve been eating their hummus for years without knowing that they had a cafe. My wife and I were super excited to try it since we LOVE the hummus. Everything about the experience was perfect. The food was delicious and noticeably fresh, the customer service is incredible to the point of feeling like
I wish I had photos I could post, but I literally scarfed everything down so quick that I didn’t get a chance. It was my first time there and I got the Hummus and the Nikki’s Special and WOW!! It was so flavorful and fresh, you could really feel the love that goes into the food. The guy who checked
I cannot RAVE enough about Niki, the owner, the food, & the culture. I stopped by as I came across this spot upon happenstance and it couldn’t have been more perfect. This spot recently opened its doors to the public again… and I truly wanted to cry from the compassion & hospitality expressed to me
Great hummus and babaganoush, my wife used to make hummus for Nikki, about 15 years ago. The Gyros was outstanding. The mild with jalapenos was quite spicy, great little joint.
First visit today! I will definitely be returning. My friends and I got several different items. The Greek salad I ordered with chicken was amazing and really big! The Nikki special also looked great and was a lot of food. The meat was thin sliced, slightly crispy on the edges and really warm and to
True Mediterranean flavors with incredible service. This is the kind of food that you go out of your way to experience. Nikki Special, Grandma's hummas, and Turkish coffee!! Industrial kitchen that distributes Grandma's Hummas to HEBs, yum!
I cannot say enough. We sat in for lunch. The food is amazing. The people are so friendly. The service was fast, and the value for the taste and quality couldn't be beat.
Y'all. I'm Lebanese and very very very picky about the middle eastern food that is prepared and sold in Austin. Let me tell you, this place has, hands down, the most delicious, most authentic, best all around hummus in town. Like, a single tear rolled down my teta's cheek when I took my first bite.
Tried Nikki's Open Face Gyro with beef and lamb with grilled jalapenos served on top of a bed of lettuce on a pita. It was very good. I'll definitely be back again. They are the makers of Grandma's Hummus, found at area HEB stores.
Good authentic Mediterranean at a fair price. Amazing customer service and delicious food. Could not recommend it enough.
Agree with everyone on the service and care of this restaurant - 5/5 for all! Then, you have the freshest food with huge servings - 7/5! Cannot say anything better 💯
Fantastic food, super nice people, reasonably priced. I tried so hard to save some of my gyro for my husband to try, but I failed. Absolutely delicious.
The food is SO GOOD, and the owners are kind and have tea out for you. The gyro was moist with the perfect amount of crisp ends. Really, the best Mediterranean food I've had outside of someone's home.
Mediterranean Chef is one of my favorite places to eat in Austin. I've tried the Nikki Special and the falafel wrap and both are so fantastic that I haven't been able to try the rest of the menu. So, so good. Great hummus.
A hidden gem with great Greek food. I checked this place out because there are no other Greek restaurants in the area, and I was not disappointed!
I haven't been here in ages and I was in the mood for some lamb so I stopped and ordered Nikki Special, an open-faced gyro salad served on a bed of pita and topped with the house tatziki sauce, chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, feta crumbles, Kalamata olives, sliced jalapénos and a sautéed onion/garl
Excellent salads and gyros, of course also hummus and tabouli. As of last visit (Feb 2023) the inside is closed to customers. Call in your order by phone from home or parking lot and they'll bring it out (fast service).
