Absolutely the best gnocchi in town!!! Sammy and his chef never disappoint!
When in Austin I always visit Milano Cafe, had the veal picatta last night, excellent. Great wine list too.
I love Milano. Originally from the NE US, I was spoiled with the availability of really good Italian food. Texas was a different story until I happened upon Milano Cafe. My husband and I have eaten there almost once a week since the summer of 2010 and it is still our first choice! Our 5 year old daughter has been there so much she thinks she works there, and our family always feels welcome.Sami and Gici welcome children and offer them food they love as well. The food is truly Sicilian accented by Sami's creativity and now serves wine. Sami trains his chefs himself and is always there to walk you through the menu or even a bit of Sicily ... If you're lucky! We love you guys!!
The staff was very friendly in helping us decide on what to order. The food is AMAZING!!! We are so happy we chose to eat lunch here:) We are visiting from Tennessee.
I placed an order for pick up and was surprised by the huge portions for the price. It was delicious, I'm definitely a returning customer.
Excellent food and service!! Pizza was amazing!!!
Great food, wonderful atmosphere, and fantastic staff.
Lovely atmosphere, congenial family hosts and true Italian fare that was amazing!
One of my favorite restaurants in Austin, not just for the best Sicilian food, but also for the hospitality of Sammy and his wife who greets every table and makes sure you're satisfied.
We go often and love it. Family owned and part of our neighborhood. Keep it up, Sammy!!
The food, the service and the simplicity are an experience they deliver with perfection
I have never had a bad meal there. The owner and staff are very friendly. They have amazing desserts.
Nice little out of the way restaurant. Amazing Italian food. The chicken Marsala is fantastic.
Always delicious!! We are blessed to have them so closeby!! Love their lunch specials and dinners, too.
Milano Cafe flies under the radar in Austin but my wife and I think it is one of the great places to eat in our city. The food is always very fresh and tasty and we love the atmosphere as it is one of the few places in Austin where you can have a conversation within a quiet and beautiful setting. What also sets it apart is the wonderful server (Shanna) who is genuine, kind and always attentive to our restaurant needs. In fact, we came into Milano Cafe today after spending 2 plus hours at the Social Security office and we both had a pounding headache from that experience. Shanna took care of us and her personal touch was evident and made us feel welcomed to be there. The food, service and atmosphere is an A+
Lobster ravioli is AMAZING!!! The sauce is sooo good and the lobster filling is divine...really! The Greek salads we had were very good. We ordered garlic bread and were so happy we did because it was warm with a toasted cheese mixture that was delicious! My husband and I were really surprised by the generous portions...thank you Milano for not skimping! The wonderful food, generous portions, pretty surroundings, and competent pleasant staff make this cafe a gem of a restaurant in South Austin. We are so impressed we are considering having our staff Christmas party at Milano. Thank you Milano Cafe! Oh!!!! I forgot to mention the Teramisou and the other yummy desserts...sooooo delicious!
My husband and I drive and hour to eat at Milano Cafe. The food is always outstanding. The last few times we've eaten there, Shanna was our waitress and she makes it a delightful experience. Great restaurant, great atmosphere!
Such a cute restaurant with authentic Italian food. Customer service was excellent and the food was delicious. They had gluten free options to enjoy & the kids enjoyed their selections. Family friendly and will be back if visiting the area again.
I had the drunken linguine and it was fabulous. I am picky too. It honestly was one of the best things I have eaten.
Yes the flatware was cheap but it still managed to shovel food into my mouth. They could do some very small things to uplift the restaurant but the food is what I come for and I enjoyed it immensely.
On my next trip through town, I’ll be back to try other things on the menu
My wife and I dithered about what rating to give, and settled on 4 stars. Everything was good, but not great. On the plus side, the portion sizes were reasonable (instead of embarrassingly large), the sauces were not overly sweet, and the ambience of the restaurant was good. On the minus side, the pasta was a bit overcooked and most things were a bit bland. Overall I’d say it’s the best Italian within 5 miles of home, but the sad truth is that’s a low bar to clear.
We will come back here, but it’s not a place we’ll be dying to revisit in the short term.
This is a very unsuspecting restaurant on the outside. We were very pleased and surprised with the service, quality, and variety of food. I never would have thought about berries in pasta but it was pretty good! Very interesting dining, if you’re looking for something different give this place a try.
Great Italian reasturant. The owner Sam is also the artist of the wall paintings. Amazing guy to talk to. And the pizza is awesome.
The butternut squash ravioli is killer - a savory/sweet combo that really gets you into a cozy autumn mood. I’m still thinking about it days later. Chicken piccata was also delish. Interior is very fun and colorful! Will go again.
We had an early dinner here. Food was ok but my spaghetti felt a little salty. The pizza seemed not well done and salty but no complaints from the one eating it. But overall food was ok.
This is our second anniversary and it was wonderful! Live music and modern atmosphere. Extraordinary food and gluten free options for most of the dishes. Highly recommend this as a very cool place to eat n a special night
Absolutely great, great Italian spot. The food was so good, service was great, and the atmosphere is very sheik and vibrant.
Great drink menu and wine selection. Very spacious with several rooms to sit in
We'll definitely be back!
The restaurant itself has a great story, all of the artwork was created by the restaurant owner himself (and can be purchased)! The staff was nice, but the food was okay, could have used some stronger flavors in the sauces
An incredible dining experience! The owners give a warm reception and paralleling that, the lighting is soft and warm. There is artwork displayed on the walls, paintings that are fabulous, and we believe the owner is the artist of most! He was a inspired during COVID. The food is delicious, one thing, after another was perfect! We have a lot of allergies in our family… gluten-free options are delicious and the food is fresh, tasty and attractively presented! The portions also are plentiful! We will return! Again, and again!
