This sushi restaurant is great! I need to first mention the staff. The curly haired hostess was fantastic. She took great care of us when my reservation mistake (booked the wrong night) was discovered upon our arrival. The bartender made quality drinks and in a timely manner despite being the only one working at the bar. Our waitress was amazing, I wish we remembered her name (long hair and glasses). She was super knowledgeable about specific fish, other sushi spots in town and offered recommendations that were spot on. We ordered the Ankimo (monk fish liver) as an appetizer, waitress recommendation, and were delighted with the freshness and taste. This was the best cooked bite we have ever had of Ankimo. From there we went omakase which included nagiri, sashimi, classic rolls, and dessert. We were most impressed with the quality and taste of the lean tuna, which I never say. The star however was the basted and grilled teriyaki cod. Light, flaky, moist, mildly sweet- delicious on all counts. The star drink was the Tequila Daisy cocktail. Chambord adds a hint of raspberry flavor making this drink unique and complex. Try it!

Nigiri is top notch. Every piece was fantastic. Rolls were mostly a miss. Service was... average. Location is very annoying to get to and parking sucks.

I am visiting from Dubai and if you been to Dubai you will know that there is some of the best Sushi and Japanese food. So it won’t be fair comparison to there. So my review is based on what I have eaten in the area. Good food, good vib, finding the place could be a hassle as it is inside a dentist building. But overall I recommend it. Cost wise, it is well priced for what you get!!

We went to Musashino to celebrate a birthday recently. The experience was as wonderful as always! The staff is cheerful, and the service spot on, attentive but not intrusive. We arrived when they opened so we were able to be seated immediately at the sushi bar. The evening began with miso soup for two and a large hot sake. IMHO, it's the best miso soup in ATX. Our second course was an appetizer called Avocado Kama, which is partially hollowed out and stuffed with shrimp, crab, and a spicy sauce ... served piping hot. It was fantastic! Our sushi indulgence began with nigiri pieces of the three super fatty tuna and salmon fish that were the specials that night. Incredible! Delicious! We returned to the regular nigiri menu next, and sampled the unagi, salmon and hamachi kama. The fish in this course was great, expertly prepared, and delectable! On the recommendation of our waitress, we went back to the appetizer section of the menu and tried the baby octopus kara age, five fried pieces with fish sauce. A new dish for us, and a great recommendation! For our next course, we had mackerel and the ozzy roll. The mackerel was divine, a bit fishy, but in a very good way! The ozzy roll included unagi, shrimp, avocado and cucumber, with smelt caviar on the outside. The roll was different, very good, but not really something we would order again with all the other rolls on the menu. For our final course, I re-visited the unagi and my wife had the toro covered in mustard greens. She reported it was very good. Finally, dessert ... we chose our usual, tanin bune, which is a combination of uni and salmon roe, served gunkan style (battleship-style). The uni was sourced from Tasmania, and was our first time trying that type of uni. It was creamy, lightly sweet, a bit less sweet than the California uni we usually order. The combination of the uni and roe presents a sweet and salty taste, and was lucious. We cannot wait to go back!

We ended up here somewhat by accident, but I am so glad that we did. The restaurant was fantastic: the service was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was perfect, and the sushi was amazing. We sat at the bar and got to watch the chefs work their magic all night. 100% recommend.

Our new favorite Japanese restaurant. This place is hard to find and hidden away upstairs in an office building. We waited an hour for seats. Arrived at 8 pm, seated at 9 pm. We were worried they would close while we ate but that didn’t happen. The food came so fast we couldn’t believe it. Everything was high quality, from the drinks to rolls to tempura. Everything was quite memorable. Small sake was cheaper than cocktails so we will stick with that next time. Our waitress was very nice (even at the end of the night). The hostesses were very nice and helpful as well, even though they seemed exhausted from a busy shift. I have been to Japan and must say, this is the most authentic Japanese restaurant I have found in Austin. Pros: Excellent high quality authentic Japanese food Attention to detail Black ink rice in rolls Food arrives quickly Great drinks Excellent service Cons: Long wait for seating Crowded Hard to find (we didn’t see any signs)

One of my all time favorites in ATX. Top quality sushi at a reasonable price, friendly and helpful service, and a comfortable cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended for date nights and special occasions.

Sushi is thicc and high quality. Service is good. Only problem is parking and wait times. I waited around 2 hours coming randomly on a Saturday night. I recommend joining the wait-list on Yelp before coming. I'll def come back.

This place is the highest quality and has great presentation. Don't miss out on the avacado bowls. I visited with an all the timer and he asked for the fresh wasabi and damnit makes a difference in taste and color. I've also heard that this is the sushi spot that has bread some other great sushi spots around Austin. Sit at the sushi bar for the best experience.

First time here. There was a bit of wait, so it's best to reserve a table or add to the wait list ahead of time. Great selection of appetizers. The black cod was grilled to perfection. The fatty bluefin tuna was just incredible. There's a great selection of nigiri (though it's odd that there's no crab option, real or otherwise) and rolls. Service was excellent. Sushi was presented beautiful. I'll post some pictures.

My wife and I just had dinner here.... it..was...amazing! We sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed chatting with the chefs, watching them work, and eating the incredible food. The pictures don't do the food justice. The way they prepare each item is art in motion. The sushi area runs like a well oiled machine, with each chef working on his or her orders with such focus and finesse. The service was great! Our glasses never went empty, plates were cleared quickly, and the server was like a ninja about it all. No one hovered over us, or rushed us. All in all... it was an excellent evening! I can't thank Kim and the staff enough for making our evening amazing. I can't think of any place I would have rather been to celebrate my 13th year of sobriety. Thank You!!

The food was AMAZING!!! Like...melt in your mouth salmon 🤤🤤 Took a little to be served once seated but it was understandable since it was mad busy. My only complaint was the yellowtail tasted off but it didn't really matter cuz everything else was delicious, the ambiance was lovely, and I loved the authentic Japanese feel

We found a hidden gem of a Japanese restaurant in an office building. The food was exceptional, especially the sake. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's the most authentic Japanese restaurant we've found in Austin.
