Country Boyz Fixins - Austin - Photo album

We had an itch for some good soul food without pulling out the pots and pans and cooking it ourselves. This was a good find. The oxtails were sold out, but we convinced the staff that helped us to use the gravy from the oxtails. MY LORD!! I'm going back for the oxtails!! It's such a comfort food sp
Food was fantastic, we had fried ribs and Oxtails, servings were nice side and the food was great, keep up the good work guys, oh yeah hospitality was excellent.
Great place with great home cooked food! The owner was the nicest ever ...actually the whole staff was! Chicken fried steak was ginormous...and the best tasting I've ever had! Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good comfort home cooked meal!
This neighborhood "hole in the wall" joint is awesome!! Loved it all!! The okra, the po'boys, the fried fish, the gumbo ALL DELICIOUS!!! And they have ALL YOU CAN EAT fried fish for $12.95 on Fridays!!! Tell Doc and Cookie I say "heeeeey" 👌🏽😘
I may have just had the best Hush Puppies of my life. Everything on my Fish Dinner was excellent. Loved the seasoning on the vegetable medley. The fish was flaky and tasty with good breading. The cornbread was flavorful with just enough structure to pick up and eat. Friendly and helpful staff. Not
There's no Dine-in at this time but other than that I pulled up, very nice lady came out gave me a menu and took my order.. I had the two piece fried catfish with their wonderful cabbage and beans and rice. I very much enjoyed my meal and will definitely be going back.
A good old school neighborhood joint. The fried shrimp/oyster Poboy was fantastic. Feels like an old family owned restaurant who’s recipes are just delicious. I should have tried the gumbo when I was there.
I was here over a year ago and failed to write a review most likely because I was so full and satisfied that I went home and took a nap but today I was determined to write a review before a nap. I usually avoid soul food restaurants because the majority of them lack 'soul'. Country Boyz Fixins must
I had a pork chop sandwich and fries. Also, I ordered a side of cabbage and yams. The pork chop was juicy, but dark meat. I would have preferred white meat amd more season. The lettuce and tomato on the sandwich made the bottom half soggy so I didn't eat that half of sandwich. The cabbage was spicy
You know what I love most about Louisianan woman? They're bold and can bring the heat with their explosive personalities. Their spiciness makes your heatbeat start to snap to the rhythm - but if you're weak, you'll be at high risk of cardiac arrhythmia, so go see a Dr. Yet, they're as elegant as th
I'm originally from Alabama, the "true South", but have had trouble finding good, country/soul food in Austin. But this place is most certainly going to be my go-to favorite! The fried tilapia sandwich and fries were absolutely delicious! And the two ladies who were serving were helpful and friendly
Great small soul food restaurant. Had the chicken strips and okra, fries were seasoned and it was all good, generous portions. Very friendly service.
Awesome, Authentic Culinary delight. If you prefer Soul Food this is DEFINITELY your spot! Staff are friendly, kind and warm. Their Gumbo is A MUST HAVE
Babaaayyyy that bread the seasoning and the sauce married together to create a the tastiest bites back to back. nomnomnom I would eat there often if I lived in Atx
Unbelievable food and service. Personable and down home! I ordered a 3 piece fish no fries! Sorry ate one piece 😋Beautifully fried 😋
I saw this place on the way to a meeting. I had to stop by on the way back. It's take out only. You should call ahead but I didn't because I didn't know. Anyhow a woman came out and gave me a menu. I ordered the 4 wings and a side of catfish. I wish I would have gotten the fish meal. It was perfectl
Always support my black owned restaurant. I had the pork chops and my boyfriend had gumbo. Both were delicious. I wanted to try the oxtails but of course they are they first to go. Next time I’m in town I’ll try the oxtails. Definitely worth going to eat at. The look aid made you wanna slap ya momma
Great food! always fresh! I just wished they seasoned the cabbage!
