This Vietnamese eatery has rarely come to disappoint. Let's start with the shrimp spring rolls. In these shellfish filled treats is nothing more than lettuce, pho noodles, and shrimp wrapped up in a rice wrap and served with a peanut sauce. The ingredients in these little delights are so fresh and flavorful. The charcoal chicken spring rolls didn't disappoint either. With a hint of smokiness in every bite combined with all the same fresh ingredients in the shrimp spring rolls creates a delectable appetizer. Let's get to the main course. A savory seafood pho containing shrimp, crab, and fish. The highlight of this soup is the broth, it contains all sorts of herbs and spices to make a soup broth to die for.But there was one downfall to this meal, the staff was a little off their game today they didn't even come to our table to ask for refills. So in conclusion this is a pretty fine eatery if you're looking for a meal that you will enjoy every bite .
My overall experience was a 4 based on flavor and presentation. We had a quick lunch on Friday and food arrived piping hot, much faster than expected. The meal had a pleasant flavor and was spicy enough to satisfy me, usually have to add a lot more pepper to it.
Had beef pho, it was very good. i will come back
Great pho, clean & contemporary environment. Phonetic on Anderson lane is still better, to me. This is more traditional pho with less flavors... But it is still great pho.
Awesome Pho. Had a #102 today and it was AWESOME!
Love the place, will make it a favorite lunch spot.
Only drawback they don't have online ordering (hint-hint) but I'm guessing good ol'phone ahead will do for now.
Pho King GOOD. Nice joke on the name. Food is tasty, fast and cheap. Can't think of a better combination.
Our new favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Austin. We've been here twice and like it: the place is clean with a nice ambiance. The restaurant is a new building by itself (not in a strip mall). The prices are really inexpensive (most items are around $6-$8), and the portions are more than satisfied.
We tried the menu #58 Vermicelli with Charcoal Grilled Shrimp & Pork: really good and fresh. #40 Chicken Noodle Soup: tasty broth with fresh herbs. #90 Lemongrass Spicy Beef & Pork Noodle Soup: deliciously spicy (read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%BAn_b%C3%B2_Hu%E1%BA%BF).
Overall, Pho King is the best new Vietnamese restaurant Austin: a nice place with excellent, inexpensive dishes.
Brand new place-very good pho and fried rice. Big portions. Will definitely go back.
One of the best new additions to the Austin foodscape. If you love Pho like I love Pho & you live or work near Parmer & Dessau try this place out! Inexpensive, very good menu, good service make this a good choic
Really enjoyed my experience here, had a beef vermicelli bowl with just the right amount of spice and sweet. The Hu Tieu Go was also really relaxing on a cold night. Good portions too. I'm just stingy with the 5-star.
Usually I get the pho here. Good size and flavorful. Wait staff could be a little more attentive, but overall I have pretty good experiences here.
The good: food, service, cleanliness. The bad: parking, rushed, entrance. The pho here is great, the service is fast and tea is refilled promptly. The order taker is a little overbearing, standing over you as you are deciding. The parking spots are tight. The entrance is east bound Parmer only. If you need a quick, delicious soup, then this is the place.
I loved it! Menu is hard to understand because of the names. But has English descriptions. It’s the closest to authentic Vietnamese that I’ve ever had!
We have these pho all the time. Clear beautiful strong tastefyl broth. Nice shrimp fried rice. Love it.
I had the 111 - Banh Canh Tom Thit, the veggies were fresh and had a clean, light taste.
Service was really fast and the food came quickly.
So affordable, delicious, and really kind staff. The noodles were tender and everything tasted very fresh
The location was clean for the most part and the food was above average. If you are in the area and feel like Vietnamese food then I would recommend to stop by and try.
Everything was good, I had been wanting to go for years but this was my first visit it did not disappoint...
Excellent pho and good service. Highly recommend trying
Don’t go here if you have any food allergies- the supposed boss has no idea what’s in his food and what products his restaurant uses. The food isn’t good enough to warrant such a nasty rude attitude from the “boss”/waiter.
Update 2023: thank goodness for new management. Food and service a complete 180
Great food ! Waiter was nice and even tried teaching my brother to eat with chopsticks
LOVE THIS PHO KING PLACE. PHO KING SERVICE IS GREAT TOO, COMES OUT IMMEDIATELY AND THEN YOURE LEFT ALONE TO ENJOY YOUR BIG PHO KING BOWL OF TASTY NOODLES.
I have been passing by this restaurant for years and never dropped in. I am not sure why considering this place is less than 3 miles from my house. I am so glad I finally gave it a try. Food was delicious and I appreciated the menu selections. Waiter was just okay. He could have been friendlier but like most places these days I am sure they are short staffed and overworked. Definitely recommend dropping in and trying our a dish or two. We weren’t disappointed and hopefully you won’t be.
Really love the lemongrass beef bun. So good!
I got fried rice with chicken. Let me tell you it's the best place around the Austin/Pflugerville area!
This pho is pretty good! Due to Covid their smalls are $10 and larges $11.50 so not the best prices (especially coming from Houston). Their service is pretty limited. I had to ask for utensils and refills but that wasn’t an issue for me.
