Crazy good. I've been to Franklin's and it's as good. Brisket even better. Franklin's sent me away at 1pm so I found this. The fact that I didn't have to wait and got meat down to 1/4lb was great.
Most important the owner was very friendly. Def. Superstar on the rise

Krikaoli recommends it! It is a fabulous barbecue food truck. I shared three types of meat and two sides with my girlfriend. I suggest four types of meat to share — sausage, ribs, brisket, beans, and corn. I ate almost crying with pleasure. The price was also a plus, 20 grant, two bottles of water included.
Tasty sliced brisket sandwich. The generous portion of meat bursts out of the burger buns. Outdoor sitting. Very relaxed. I visited on a December Saturday at around 1 pm. There was no line up.
J. Leonardi's is a fantastic gem on the east side of Austin that really embodies what the east side used to be. Owned and managed by folks who grew up in the historically black and Latino community that dominated the east side in the past they are keeping the tradition alive and are doing it exceptionally. Highlights here are the brisket and ribs but dont pass up on anything Jerome and his team are doing, especially those sandwiches. When you visit this spot you'll feel like you're not in Austin anymore with how the neighborhood vibe influences everything they do. Give them a visit, they deserve it, and you owe it to yourself to get a taste of what Texas BBQ is really about, community.
The meat is great but the real MVPs are the smoked cabbage and banana pudding. It’s all made from scratch and you can tell. The jalapeño creamed corn is great as well but my stomach only has room for one side ATM.
I haven’t had banana pudding close to this good since visiting Birmingham AL, and I think this one is better.
The meat has been covered already in other reviews but the brisket is excellent, the ribs are flavorful and tender, and the rub actually has seasoning besides salt and pepper.
