A nice neighborhood haunt with full bar and a great patio. The food is generally consistent, however on my most recent visit the beef fajita taco was over sauced causing the tortilla to be impossible to eat by hand. Luckily they provide free forks at this establishment!
My recent experience at Torchy's Tacos was marked by excellent food and service. The restaurant's lively and vibrant atmosphere, coupled with the attentive staff, created the perfect setting for an enjoyable meal. Torchy's Tacos' commitment to consistently delivering quality dishes and top-notch service was evident throughout the visit. Whether you're looking for a satisfying breakfast, a delicious lunch, or a flavorful dinner, Torchy's Tacos is a reliable choice that offers both excellent food and attentive service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to savor more of their delightful offerings!
The lady that works there at the cashier is awesome and super friendly! Awesome food but I would love for them to up their sauce game. Many taco places around have awesome sauces
Torchy's Escarpment has been a favorite of mine for a few years. Their tacos are always absolutely amazing and I don't have issues with their food quality/product at all. My only issue is that they've recently had some problems with putting to-go orders in the wrong place (behind the cashiers instead of on the to-go shelf), so customers are left waiting a long time for orders before they realize their mistake. They've also forgotten some sauces on my to-go orders lately. Managers are good about making repairs with customers when issues are brought up!
Whenever I’m in TX, Torchy’s is a MUST EAT. Pro tip: order your Trailer Park taco “extra trashy”.
Just can't say enough how much I love this place! It's always a great experience with some delicious food. Menu offers a great selection you can just make your special taco. Make sure to get at least 1/2 queso to pair with your tacos for a full experience. Friendly staff and clean restaurant with plenty of sitting inside or outside.
Saturday afternoon, about 2:30. Beautiful day, perfect for tacos.
Got front row parking, too!
An order of salsa and a order of queso to start us off, with a cold Sprite to wash it down. I got the Chicken Fajita tacos, the fella got the Trailer Park tacos, both with flour tortillas. (Pics of Chicken Fajita tacos.)
*Pro tip - scoop some of that yummy queso onto your taco. You won't be mad!
I didn't try the salsa, but the queso was the bomb diggity. Hooray for fresh cilantro. Yay for just enough hot sauce to give it a bite without hurting me. A+ for Cotija cheese. I'm not really one to say I love avocado, but the dollop of guacamole was welcomed as well.
The tacos were just full enough to be satisfied, but not make a huge mess with everything falling out when ya bite into it. Good ratio of meat to toppings/veggies. It was a bit juicy so holding it over the tray to catch drips was a must, but 10/10 worth the effort.
The parking lot was kinda full, but expected for lunchtime on a Saturday. Most of the people I saw were out on the patio. It was super perfect weather for outdoor dining so that makes sense. We stayed indoors, though, because indoors was quieter and less populated.
Our chips & dips came out quickly, and the tacos came just a few minutes later. Long enough to enjoy some light snacking, but not get full before the actual meal arrived.
The server was polite for the few seconds he was at the table to drop off our baskets. He fulfilled his obligation and left us to eat in peace. It was good.
I didn't see but just a couple employees masked up, but there was also minimal interaction between pretty much everyone.
Didn't visit the washroom so nothing to report on cleanliness there, but the rest of the dining room was clean, and the drinks station was tidy. Parking lot free of random debris.
I liked that the "take it home" supplies were readily available at the drinks station so I could package up what we had left how I like (I'm picky so that's cool...)
Was a good visit. I get to Austin a couple few times a month (from Magnolia - 135 miles) so we always go out for a meal while I'm here. Glad to add Torchy's to the list.
An absolute favorite spot!! Food is so delicious and quick for good prices. So worth going!
A must stop for taco lovers! Torchys is one of my very top fast food places to eat.
Can’t go wrong here. All the tacos are good. Great queso. Even the airstream salad is awesome.
We needed a quick small meal and picked Torches on Slaughter. We were helped by a very nice young lady at the counter. We got our order very soon after sitting on table in the outdoor dining space. We were very satisfied.
Good food good price nice people
Food is good. Airstream salads can be inconsistent (sometimes served in a bowl, sometimes served in a to go container when dining in, and the amount of protein you get is all over the map).
5 stars for service because of this guy named Alex who has been working the front the last 4-5 times we’ve come in. Previously we’d get attitude if you tried to change something or get told “we can’t do that” when it’s something they’ve done the last…8 years.
Alex is a rockstar who is always super friendly and gets it right the first time. And he even comes and checks on you like 10 minutes after you’ve gotten your food??? Literally never had anyone else at any Torchy’s do that ever.
Good food, fast service, and decent prices. My favorite queso around. ❤️
