My boyfriend was craving bánh mì. After a quick, yelp search, we identified Le Bleu as having some of the best in town. The OG banh mi did not disappoint. Perfect bread, meats, and crisp and tasty veggies. We also tried the beef pho which was very tasty as well good portion in value, they have some fun cocktails as well as happy hour. Dessert was also great. We had an Ube tiramisu which our server told us the owner makes at home.
Another great surprise was they make their own homemade chili hot sauce, which is delicious. Super friendly service. We can't wait to come back.
I've been seeing this Vietnamese guy and he wanted to try Banh MI at Le Bleu. Yum. We were both impressed and satisfied. He's the expert and thought the OG was really good. I used to eat Banh MI made by this cute old Vietnamese lady when I lived in San Francisco and my Pork Belly Banh MI would've made her proud.
The food was good. The service was fine, the staff offered suggestions and checked in on us a few times. The atmosphere was passable. Overall we were happy and would recommend.
Chicken pho broth is good not overly oily or anything.
They already put everything in it for you (bean sprouts, basil, mint, cilantro, chili peppers) I would rather have that on the side, too many onions for my liking and bean sprouts. Chicken is good not dry like most chicken in pho is. I would rather have a little more noodles than the extra fillers. The Brussel sprout appetizer is also good they're crispy and the sauce is super good. Added a little hoisen sauce to give it a little more. They seem to have a very good selection of liquors and a good happy hour as well.
I’m so happy I finally found a good banh mi place in Austin. The bread is actually airy, thin and not super doughy like some other Viet places
I did not know Saigon Le Vendeur had a brick and mortar sister restaurant, and man, I've been missing out! I wish I was more hungry so I could've tried more, but I split the summer rolls, prawn banh mi, and steak banh mi with my boyfriend. I came for lunch, but there were definitely some dinner menu items I will order in the future. To start, the summer rolls were top tier, refreshing, and light. The different elements had nice textural interplay, and it was banging flavor-wise with the peanut sauce and basil. Next, (I ate everything in order of least to most flavor intensity) the fried prawn banh mi was delicate yet flavorful. It was like a Vietnamese po' boy if you need a frame of reference. Finally, the steak banh mi was a flavor bomb. It was well seasoned and marinated and not overcooked. I have a hard time choosing a favorite item, and that's a great sign, I will be back!
Love this place! My husband and I have been here ~10 times and it never disappoints. Food is always consistently delicious and the place is pretty relaxed and casual- not too busy. Highly recommend the shrimp appetizer and the dinner special like the eggplant. I could eat both all day!
I recommend the pho, the banh mi, the mango salad, the bun, the banh xeo, the wings ... ok so basically everything. The flavors are strong but not heavy. The portions are appropriate and the food is light. You enjoy the herbs and the vegetables and the freshness. Each ingredient can be picked out and the togetherness of the ingredients enhances each ingredient.
I really really like this place, it's now a go-to for me for Vietnamese food.
I love the bun so much I can't bring myself to try anything else. The first time I ever tried the dish was at their sister store on 7th St, and it blew me away. The Bahn mi looked amazing. The staff were efficient and attentive without being overbearing, what more could you ask for? Vietnamese coffee was on point too.
Never would have found this place without a recommendation but very happy I made it! Got the OG bahn mi and just what the Dr ordered. Fresh, hearty, and a good shmear of pate to round it out into something I'll definitely return for (but only after trying many other attractive items on the menu). Good veggie and vegan options to try as well!
Lovely experience! We went for a late lunch and decided to share the shaken steak bùn noodle bowl (which is honestly a pretty hearty portion) and the mango salad - would highly recommend both. Both dishes were extremely fresh, the meat was tender, and the flavor profile was unique in the best way possible. The staff was also very attentive and kind.
