They don't have a fix location. You can track them down on their website. The food truck is normally on 3rd and Congress on Fridays. The food tasstes fine, not very Chinese, though.
Although there are quite a few food trucks around DFG Noodles, they grabbed my attention offering a free sample of their Scholar (stir fried vermicelli noodles) dish. It was delicious and I eagerly ordered without much thought. It didn't disappoint.
It is comparably priced to most trailer food at 8
Love the richness of the gravy here. Huge portions and consistent in quality. Not really the place for variety as the menu is limited, even more so for a vegetarian like me. But if you are a fan of rich gravies, this is definitely worth checking out.
Okay, so apparently, food trucks can serve good food. This is one of them. The chicken is seasoned, dish is well prepared. Rice was seasoned and very tasty as well (and I'm picky). I took one star off because the roti bread is really bad. Please, taste this bread and consider something as
The food here is amazing. Only problem is, they keep moving. They were originally on Rainey street, then moved to the Boardwalk on Lakeshore. We called the first night they had service there to see if they were still open, and were told they closed in a few minutes, but would be open the next day
I visited this place at their food truck in Downtown (3rd and Congress on Wed. and Friday). I was very impressed. I had the noodles with pork belly topped with mild curry. The flavors are out of this world!
FYI the published location is not where food is served from. This is just where the food truck is parked. I found out the hard way after a half an hour drive from NW Austin to come check out the food, but it was not to be. I gave it 4* assuming the food is good. I'll update the review once I have a
I get the scholar with the fried egg and spicy sauce.
This is not your normal noodle joint, these guys take care of business. Stir fried vermicelli, with a good sized portion of spiced ham and pork belly.
topped with Chinese greens, onion and cilantro.
I normally avoid noodle dishes, but this one is
Best food truck in town, Hands down!! The chicken is to die for, Fast and friendly service. The Proportion is super filling, qaulity is out of this world. You can't miss out on this upcoming restaurant.
Finally, Malaysian food in Austin!
Located in the newish food trailer park on Rainey Street (which has about 10 different food trucks), DFG noodles serves various noodle and rice dishes that don't skimp on the flavor.
If you don't know about Malaysian food - it draws on Indian, Chinese, and Malay
One of my top locations for quality chinese food. i was super full. i had a brother come into town and he asked me to go back here. prices are appropriate for the quality. ambience reminds me of colorado springs area.
Chinese food and the scene here is excellent. Got there near six, it wasn't packed at all. The bill was appropriate. Makes me feel like I am back in Tucson.
I tried it at SXSW. I really like it. A recommendation to the operator, please cut the chicken in small pieces. Too big to eat on the go. I don't mean to reduce the quantity. The price is right for what you serve.
Excellent food, even better customer service. The guys who work at the Congress Location are always in a good mood, working hard , and extremely kind. Rare find all around in Austin.
OMG, the food was soooo goood, I will definitely come back. It was my first time going today and I was very impressed. Very flavorful and you get your money's worth.
Emperor noodles (chao mi fen) and curry laksa were the best I've had since the last time I was in Kuala Lumpur! Very friendly service from Fizzy, the manager and chef.
