Chen's Noodle House - Austin - Photo album

Chen's Noodle House (陳記麵館) might not have elaborated decorations inside or out, but provides that familiar dining experience that I had in either China or Taiwan. We ordered the Beef noodle soup, spicy dumpling soup and cold pork (appetizers). All dishes had unique but familiar tastes of back home
The dishes I ordered were nut allergy friendly. A small mom & pop shop type of restaurant, Chen's sits in the corner of a plaza filled with the most stereotypical Asian restaurant names in the city. However, Chen's manages to stand out and deliver above and beyond. We arrived around 7pm and it too
I've been coming here for 5 years and I have nothing but positive things to say about. The staff is friendly and the food is incredible. The dumplings are solid, same with the dumpling soup, but my go to is the beef noodle soup. If you are looking for some homemade noodles in north austin, this is t
This was some delicious chinese cuisine. Idk how authentic this was since I've never been to China but this is the closest I have gotten. Our favorite dishes were the pork sesame pockets (fatty, juicy pork within a sweet bread with soy sauce. And the dumplings which were pretty big and filled with
Chens is a good experience. Hot soup, delicious dumplings, and plentiful portions are Chens' strong suit. The menu is large and clearly visible, with bright colors and easy to pick items. The dining room is a little small, and most all of the tables were dirty. My only complaint was lack of beverage
Great hole in the wall, no frills place!! The food was amazing!! Everything came out quickly. We got lamb noodles and chicken stir fried noodles. The handmade noodles were so chewy, had a great texture and both the dishes tasted excellent. We also got green onion pancake. It was super crispy and fl
One of the most authentic Chinese restaurants in Austin. Tasted like street food I’ve had in China. They make their noodles from scratch, have very reasonable portions, quick takeout service, and are fairly priced. My favorite was the lamb sandwich with a sweet sesame bun and pickle-like vegetables.
One of the few authentic Chinese spots in town! I’m so glad this place serves actual Chinese noodles other than the American Chinese Lao mein nonsense… Very delicious noodles and highly recommend the appetizers! 😋
Amazing food. The mala beef noodle was not over complicated. Just simply how it is, taste like homemade!
Chen’s is a super solid noodle and dumpling house. Nestled in this small shopping plaza, it’s one of the few things that hasn’t changed in recent years. I’ve always been a huge fan of the sesame pockets here. They outside is light and airy and slightly sweet. It’s filled with braised sliced pork an
I've eaten at Chen's for years now (since 2006), and it is always a happy experience. My wife and I used to live in the neighborhood, but live about 40 minutes away now - we don't get to eat there as much as I'd like, but it makes each visit that much more awesome. I have a couple of doctors in the
Definitely one of the best noodle place in Austin. First it is very authentic Chinese hand made noodles with a lot of choice of meat. The soup is light and can be spicy. I recommend beef and lamb. The place is a bit small and it is self serving style. The price is very good.
This little restaurant was a treat! This one comes about as close as you can get to being a "hole in the wall" but the food is really fantastic. Had some scallion pancakes, stuffed sesame buns and spicy noodles. The noodles had a bit of a wait, but only because everything is truly made fresh - you c
One of the better Chinese noodles houses in the Austin area. We ordered the spicy lamb noodles and the beef noodle soup and the food did not disappoint. The noodles had great texture and the broth and seasoning are on point. I know some people think the place is small and it doesn't look clean, but
If you're looking for some top notch noodle soup, look no further than Chen's Noodle House. Located in North Austin, this spot is worth the drive! They hand-make their noodles which makes them much more enjoyable to eat! The noodle texture is thick and has great flavor that goes well with the actua
If you’re looking for an authentic Chinese noodle (and soup) shop, look no further! Chen’s Noodle House is a hole in the wall in one of Austin’s small, niche, Asian markets. The homemade noodles (watch them being made…it’s cool) are a culinary joy! Amazon texture and flavor. The sauces, spices,
We came from Houston to try the spicy lamb noodles, so worth it. The flaky crispy scallion pancakes were delicious, we combined it with the lamb skewers. It was the best combo. Totally recommend visiting this local authentic place.
Great noodles made in house. Other than serving the dish, everything else is self service. You’ll have to pour yourself water, grab utensils and return finished dishes to a designated area. There is ample parking.
Good home style noodle soup, fair prices, noodle tasted similar to sliced dumpling dough. Feel the food is Northern China focused, like the taste of grandparents cooking you a meal at home after you were outside working
