Reviews Gino's East

This is authentic Chicago Deep Dish. I used to spend a lot of time in Chicago and in Chicago you either go to Gino's East or Giordano's for pizza. We don't have Giordano's down here but Gino's is every bit as good. People arguing about the pizza taking 40 minutes should keep in mind that a pizza this thick takes time to cook, it isn't a thin pizza that can be tossed in a 500 degree oven for 10 minutes, it has to bake but it is worth it. Also this isn't chain style deep dish that's all bread, this is literally a pizza pie, an average thickness crust that rides up the side of the pan loaded with cheese, sauce, and toppings. It's a unique pizza experience.

Good Chicago style pizza. Good location on 6th street for authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza. Fun locale, good service, and as the pizza takes 45 min to make, have a drink and some bread sticks and make it a nice leisurely experience.

I have had their pies twice now, but only takeout (so I can't speak to others' dining room experiences). That said, I can't speak highly enough of the Spinach Margherita I just ate. Every component was on point, but what stood out the most were the perfect freshness and quality of the sauce and cheese. Maybe they read enough of the crappy reviews the last few weeks, bc this was legit.

It's good. The pizza is the same as the one you get in Chicago. It's no Lou Malnatis but it's better than anything you will find in Texas. The four star rating is because there's a concert venue upstairs. It sounded like I was eating my pizza next to a sub woofer rattled Chevy Cavalier in the hood. Go there when the venue is not open.

Awesome deep dish margarita pizza, may take 45 mins for a deep dish but the mozzarella sticks and beer held us over just fine! Cozy atmosphere if you need a break from dirty six without leaving.

Gino's East is tucked away in what used to be Parish Underground. I loved the Underground and was a bit leery of the change from a nice, cozy cocktail bar to a pizza place. However, i had never had ginos. I took some friends there after an event downtown. We had a spicy pepperoni pizza and sofie beer. I was in heaven. The clouds parted and a single beam of sunshine came down in the form of the best pizza and beer i've ever had in my life. Highly recommended!

Day & Time: Sunday, 5 PM. Coupons: Used a GroupOn Ordered: Chicken Parm sandwich & Fries I didn't mind the place, but it wasn't really eventful. When I got home from vacation, I almost forgot to review the place because I literally forgot I went there. Service was fine. Food was fine. Nothing stood out though, which explains the 4-star review.

Love this place!! Coming from a native Chicagoan I can say that this is the real deal im terms of deep dish! I recommend the spicy patty sausage, it's delicious! Also, the cheese sticks are fantastic!

Competes with ropolos pizzeria has a wide selection of thin to thick sliced pizzas they have an amazing hostess with great hospitality and manners the bar has a variety of alcoholic drink and the setting of this restaraunt is timid but unique and fancy enough to go on a date here.

Best pizza in town. Im biased being from Chicago, but everywhere else has that flat new york pizza. Gross. They don't called it a stuffed pizza (which is what its called) but O can get over it.

Their thin crust is incredible, which is what I got at 12:30am crawling around 6th street. Better than the 4 other pizza joints on the same stretch.
