Staff is super friendly! Unfortunately they gave my sandwich away but made a replacement really quickly!
The shrimp was crispy and the bread was tasty. My boyfriend got a po boy with half shrimp and half fish. I enjoyed my sandwich and 6 inches was really filling.
My favourite part was the beignets!
I would recommend coming here!

OVERVIEW - 4.2
Came here on a Thursday evening with a work buddy that wanting a taste of southern food, while visiting Texas from another state.
LOCATION - 5
Found the location rather easily with Google Maps, but unfortunately parking was a whole other issue.
PRICE - 5
The prices were reasonable for what we purchased.
PRODUCT/SERVICE - 5
I don't remember what kind of sandwich I got, but it had fried shrimp and it was amazingly delicious. I also got a side of sausage & chicken gumbo. According to my colleague, it was a little runny than what a gumbo should be, but I don't know because I've never had it before.
POINTERS/PERKS - 1
Even though the food was delicious, if you want to come back again, avoid using the restroom at all costs, because after visiting it you'll think twice before purchasing any of the food.

The young lady that served us was incredibly over-the-top polite, an authentic polite. One of the only times I actually experienced the true southern hospitality while visiting Austin.
We decided to come eat here after we went to New Orleans and had some of the best food. The food here was very good. The atmosphere was very New Orleans like. We got blackened catfish poboys and crawfish. The fish needed alil more spice but all in all the food and service was great. Can't wait to go back.
My Louisiana born GF and I both agree this place is absolutely on point and even better quality than some restaurants on bourbon or magazine street. Beignets are 100% on par as Cafe Du Monde šš½
Mix up with being charged incorrectly, understandably, there were 11 in our party. Fried oysters were a little burnt and the slaw was not fresh. The music was amazing. We came in to hear Ryan Kennedy &the green river revival.
It was pretty good. Made us feel like we were ducked off in New Orleans at a Juke joint. Good food and vibe.
Visited on an offbeat Tuesday evening to find myself thoroughly entertained by local jazz musicians. Not the most fanciful tables in this low-key dingy place. But the food, the food is what won me over and the gumbo definilty had that NOLA style taste.
Service was good as well. Owned by a really nice couple working behind the bar/kitchen.
I'm not well versed in New Orleans food, but damn, this was beyond great just in general. Stopped in for a pick up on a cold, rainy afternoon. Ordered their blackened fish. Staff was extremely nice and were quick to strike up conversation while I waited. Once I got home the food didn't last long. It was a blur but I must have eaten it all in about 5 minutes. The rice, sausage, bread, and especially the fish were fantastic. It had a great kick to it that wasn't overwhelming but enough to make my nose run. I can not wait to go back and try more of their menu.
WOW!!! What a Gem! We went to celebrate 2 birthdays with friends. Everything was great from the time we stepped into the restaurant to the time we left. Calvin D,, our waiter, was very attentive and provided excellent service!!
Every dish we had was fantastic!! Our party had the following:
Fried Calamari with salad - to die for!! Nice and crunchy exploding with flavors. Salad was spot on!! The Original New Orleans Po-Boy and Gumbo Shop
I couldnāt find the restaurant so walked down to king bee
By luck found the food truck with the same name sake
Food was amazing!!! Itās gonna be hard to keep me from coming back daily for the crawfish etouffee š
The bread for the po boy was just like New Orleans
Some of these reviews say the food is overpriced and it really isnāt. Considering how phenomenal my meal was, Iād pay more for it
Walked by this place a few times and finally decided to stop in. The atmosphere wasnt very inviting and seemed a little dark. We placed our order at the bar and grabbed a table. It took pretty long to receive our food but once we did we were very happy. we ordered (1) 6 inch shrimp poboy, (1) 6 inch fish poboy, small fries and 1/2 order of hushpuppies! The bread was so soft and the fish and shrimp were seasoned and fried perfectly!! I highly recommend this place as long as you're willing to wait.
I enjoyed this place. Super low key and friendly service. Nothing fancy at all, but truly gave the New Orleans home in the wall vibe. The crawfish was a decent size for the area, and I love how they donāt season the shell which I find common out here. Seasoned boil = seasoned meat. Seasoned shell= waste. Still a little pricy per pound, but thatās expected here in Austin. They also have live music later in the night.
Diamond in the rough! Family oreintated! Awesome Live Music! Real Cajun Cooked Foods. Free Pool. Cold Beer.
Oh my gosh!!! This place! Where do I start?
Okay so the interior is not what a majority of gentrified east Austin, this building is old and need of repair but please donāt let that influence your experience of their incredible food and genuine great service. I waited at the counter for a little while before a young man came out (green eyes) canāt remember his name,
It was 2:10 and he let me order off the lunch special menu (11-2PM)
I had the shrimp po-boy & when I asked about gumbo he told me it had chicken and sausage in it, then before I even had to ask the young man said he would ask if they would/could make me some seafood gumbo. The chef made both of these to perfection! I will definitely brings friends here in the future, I want to go during the week night and enjoy the music sometime!
The food was great, just like poboys should be. A local blues band was playing, Tuesdays are blues days. I'm not a big blues fan but had a great time watching the band do their thing. Staff is New Orleans friendly. I'll go again for sure.
