Came here to eat after seadooing from Long Beach in the am. I don't eat eggs, dairy, or meats, so there wasn't really much for me to eat. The person who served me was able to let me customize my breakfast, even though there was some hesitation. I was able to get grilled veggies with hash browns. It was very tasty and and I was happy to get my vegetables. The server was nice and the interior wasđź‘Ś. If I could have one recommendation, I would say to add a couple of vegan or plant-based options.

Good diner food, service was quick. Chicken and waffles was weird. Got one waffle with three meatless wings. Mimosas where good
This was my favorite breakfast restaurant. The atmosphere was great with all the amazing memorabilia. Service was great and prompt.
Everybody who’s complaining in these comments about the servers probably came here during lunch or breakfast rush (just assuming). These guys took care of us and their prices are reasonable compared to literally all the other restaurants here. Not only that, their food tastes a lot better than most places here and don’t bother checking TikTok, they’re all misleading you to go to these other nasty restaurants with over priced and zero flavor. If you’re hungry just go to Jacks. Great place, great atmosphere, great food. Out of all the restaurants we been to here, I spent $30 less at Jacks compared to everyone else.
I tried this location for breakfast and lunch and it was delicious! We were a party of three and we all enjoyed our meals. The servers and the gentleman that sat us at our table were very friendly. I would highly recommend coming to this location for some amazing breakfast and/or lunch!
OMG by far the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time & it was just bacon & eggs! Kudos chef! Very high quality food & meats are used which makes a big difference. Opted for pancakes instead of toast & amazing. It’s a go-to place as I’m a frequent visitor to Catalina. Jack’s is historic, nothing fancy, just good service & always great food. Thanks to all at Jack’s! My only criticism is that I wish they had evening hours, but I’ll take whatever I can get to eat at Jack’s.
Once upon a time, in the heart of a small town Catalina Island, there stood a humble little eatery known as Original Jack's Country Kitchen. It was a place where locals and travelers alike gathered to indulge in the most delectable breakfast delights. From the moment you stepped through the door, the tantalizing aroma of sizzling bacon and freshly brewed coffee enveloped your senses. The menu boasted an array of mouthwatering options, from fluffy pancakes dripping with maple syrup to perfectly golden eggs benedict. Each dish was crafted with love and care, using only the finest ingredients sourced from local farms. The waitstaff, with their warm smiles and quick wit, added an extra dash of charm to the experience. It was a breakfast haven where time seemed to stand still, and every bite transported you to a place of pure culinary bliss. Original Jack's Country Kitchen was not just a restaurant; it was a testament to the power of good food and the joy it brings to the soul.
Solid choice for your typical all-American breakfast.
We got the farmer's breakfast, crepes with Nutella and strawberries, and Nova Scotia benedict.
If you wanna know the best restaurant in a small island, you ask a local. I did exactly that and everyone said the best place to get breakfast on the island was Jack’s. I came in for steak and eggs breakfast and it was delicious. The place is also a fun place.
We were on a weeks vacation in catalina and we ate here for breakfast 3/7 days. I really enjoyed the enviorment. All the employees were so happy to be there. Like they were just happy to be working there. Jacks has a great breakfast and lunch menu. We had several items from here during our time but one thing we enjoyed daily was the Iced coffee! It was simple coffee and ice but the servers would ask us if we wanted to add chocolate sauce or vanilla too it and it made the experiance delightful. (They do offer creamer as well) The prices on the island are definatly inflated but Jacks is still with in reason. If this is your first time in Catalina, we recommend this place & the Pancake cottage for breakfast items. Mi Casita is delicious as well if your looking for mexican breakfast that is closer to AUTHENTIC. The origional jacks was worth it. I reccomend the Avalon scramble and my husband reccomends the Denver omelet. We hope you enjoy your meal!!
The service and atmosphere was great. I was on the first ferry to arrive at 7am. Food was good.
Good food for the island. We had the breakfast burrito which was served wet. I wish I had known as I would have skipped the wet part, but it was really good. We also had the combo with eggs, bacon and pancakes. It was decent as well. The restaurant was bigger than I expected. The staff was ok. Our food sat under the heat lamps for 5 minutes or so before the chatting staff realized it was done and ready for us. Besides that and the fake juice (expected on the island), it was better than most places.
A wonderful little downtown breakfast place. Perfect spot for a morning bite. Lots of natural light and the staff is so warm and friendly. I ordered the Hawaiian Breakfast, which included two eggs any style, Portuguese sausage and french toast made Portuguese bread AND coconut syrup and macadamia nuts. Very yummy and I was full till dinner!
Amazing food! Except breakfast gravy. If you're used to homemade Texas breakfast gravy, you might not like this. They seasoned it with something I couldn't quite identify (maybe chicken stock or mushrooms). Regardless, it seems like it was made with corn starch which makes it not as rich and thick.
