I had the pastrami sandwich. The pastrami was flavorful, tender and very lean. It is made right there, seasoned and cooked for hours. Mark, the owner, is extremely nice; as was our server. We tasted the chili and pumpkin pancakes. Wow! The best chili ever! And the pumpkin pancakes are delicious. They are tender, flavorful and the pecan butter with all its spices rounds out taste sensation. Have a ready recommended the 24th Street Cafe to family and friends.

Really nice breakfast stop heading through Bakersfield on our way to Sequoia National Park. Old 50s style diner. Service was good with friendly staff, food fresh and very tasty. Can recommend the Spanish omelette.

So good. Perfect hash browns (why can’t everyone make hash browns like this?!), and maybe the best omelette I’ve EVER eaten. Plus, the cinnamon roll looked so good, I wanted to order one, even though I couldn’t have eaten 1/10th of it (its huge). Next tine!!

Terrible food and awful service but I keep coming back and recommending this restaurant to everyone I can. In L.A. there is the Original Pantry, another lousy restaurant that serves lousy food and having to wait in line to get a table on the weekends. The 24th Street Cafe is Bakersfield's Original Pantry, with Great Service and AWESOME Food! I recommend this restaurant, which is second to none!

Pumpkin pancakes were the best I’ve ever tasted. The pecan butter spread topped it off delightfully. Cajun seafood omelet was saucy and delicious. Corned beef hash and eggs with biscuits and gravy was no ordinary thing either... some sort of magic happens here!

10 stars My families favorite place, hands down. Nobody can beat their biscuits and gravy. I dare you to try! The variety is fun and never disappoints. Try the avocado bacon omelette or the fried green tomatoes and eggs. My daughter is obsessed with the pancakes. We wish it was open for dinner! Bakersfield breakfast gem!

Best breakfast in town . And I have been in Bakersfield for almost 17 years . If you are looking at those big box restaurants . Then do your selves a favor and go here . Place is small and there is usually a wait but it's all well worth it when you get the food .
