We LOVE this place! We’ve only been twice but we have had such great experiences both times. The service, food and drinks are delicious. We love the Mezcalita drinks. 3-4 tacos each typically fill us up. The wait staff are knowledgeable of the menu and any recommendations we’ve gotten from them are
Day after Thanksgiving while in town visiting with family, my husband and I came here for a date night to try this 2022 James Beard semi-finalist restaurant. We arrived a few minutes before doors opened at 5pm and there were a few people waiting. We got seated immediately at a two person table along
This place is honestly one of my favorites in Baltimore. My friends took me and everything on this menu was amazing
They had many types of mezcal and elk the cocktails were also great
There is 3 main eating areas . 2 inside and one outside
We went on a Monday and it was busy. I would come back ev
Writing this as a somewhat delayed review but I am still dreaming about the fish tacos! As of my visit, they are only open for dinner starting at 5 PM (excluding Sundays). You can't make reservations except for the mezcal bar which I believe are hard to get. My friend and I opted to show up right at
Food was amazingggg!!! The ambiance was very cool, dim lights, Latino music playing, loved everything! Got the mezcal flight (house made), some esquites (delicious), a tostada, aguachile (spicy and delicious) and several tacos! The barbacoa de borrego was probably my favorite.
Great place for Hispanic Food in Baltimore! I really enjoyed both the atmosphere and the food! So many unique flavors and options to try. They have really good cocktails if you drink!
I really enjoyed the Barbacoa de Borrego, Al Gobernador, and Tinga de Pollo tacos. They were all so unique tasting.
It was amazing food, their queso fondido was so good I do not believe I will ever be able to enjoy it elsewhere.
The tacos were flavourful, perfectly sized.
My only regret was not trying dessert because I filled up on queso. I've already told my friend we are meeting there solely to try their sweets
I’ll admit, I came expecting to not be impressed. A Mexican restaurant on the east coast? I severely underestimated the absolutely amazing food and beverages coming from this restaurant. Everything tasted so flavorful and fresh. The next time I’m in Baltimore, I’m absolutely coming back.
So so so good! Had the ceviche and a bunch of different tacos (chicken, beef, shrimp, fish) absolutely delicious!
The chips and salsa was good too
I wavered between 4 and 5 stars and rounded up because even though the food didn't drop my jaw, it was memorable in a way that most Mexican restaurants on the East Coast aren't. Even mundane every restaurant has them items like bean dip and guacamole, the ones here taste just a little different. The
If you’re a fan of Mexican food & even if you’re not - you should definitely visit Clavel!! I had such an amazing time at dinner there. Not only were the staff super friendly, the venue itself truly captures the vibe and essence of what you would expect from a mezcaleria and taqueria!!!
I really lo
Wow 🤩 Clavel is simply World Class! The food menu is simple. Ceviches & Tacos. We tried many of the tacos, and they are next level. They are the best tacos I’ve ever had 🙌🏻 Highly recommend!
I've been wanting to go to Clavel for a long time. The food was so good and the service was excellent. On top of that, the cocktails were amazing. I got the honey cilantro margarita and loved getting my tacos in a quesadilla style. The queso fundido is a must-get also. 10/10 for Clavel!
A must-try in Baltimore. Go early to beat the crowds. Eat as many tacos as you can. Drink as much mezcal as you can. It can be really busy and loud. But they deserve all the business they can get. I can’t wait to come back again.
Food came out super fast, my friend introduced me to a Baltimore gem. Staff was very laid back and nice. Place was packed but they didn’t seem unorganized. Alcoholic drinks could be stronger.
A religious experience.
Hostess told me - “I grew up in Mexico, and this is still the best Mexican food I’ve ever had.” Being from Los Angeles, I was skeptical… but wow was I in for a shocker.
This dining experience was one of the best in my life. Every realm of this restaurant is delivered with s
Worth a visit!!
They don’t take reservations, and that makes going here early pretty rewarding. Big parties especially. The two of us arrived at around 5:30 on a Friday and they had no more tables left, only indoor barstool seating (which was fine and still great!). Thirty minutes later they had a
This is where you'd come for a celebratory dinner. Every student has to try this place at least once. It has one of the coolest vibes of any restaurant I've been too. It seems so unassuming on the outside, but as soon as you walk in, it's a bustling open kitchen, hightop bar environment with moody l
