Took my father to Michael's today to celebrate his birthday. We decided to get off the restaurant week special. The Maryland crab soup was very tasty and had a lot of flavor. The cream of crab flavor tasted okay but lacked some flavor that other cream of crab soups in the area have. The clams casino was also very excellent and had good flavors. The dirty Chesapeake soup was flavorful but the MD crab soup overpowered the soup For our entree's two of us got the Md crab cakes. The crab cakes were the BEST we have ever had. We also had a Prime rib. The portion was HUGE and had so much au jus with it. The NY steak with two shrimp was very good cooked to perfection and had very good flavoring . The filet mignon stuffed with crab imperial was out of this world. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to our friends and family and will be back sometime in the future.

We went to Michael's yesterday for my husband's birthday. We both had a cup of soup, cream of crab and MD crab. My cream of crab was delicious. It was just the right consistency and had lumps of crabmeat. The MD crab was also very flavorful. We both ordered a lunch special, rockfish stuffed with crab imperial. The fish was so succulent and the imperial was delicious with the right amount of seasoning. The portions were very generous and very reasonable. The waiter also gave us a hot loaf of bread and butter. His service was great. We both had to bring some food home because we were so filled. We're going back very soon. The lunch specials are great.
I've done a bit of traveling around the world for Uncle Sam and sampled Steaks everywhere I've been. Who would have thought I'd find the best piece of Steak anywhere, here in my own backyard at Michael's but truth be told, they have perfected the art. If you haven't sampled their offering you are missing a singular epicurean delight.
I have been going to Michael's for around 20 years and it is simply one of Baltimore's Best. The beef and seafood are simply outstanding. Awesome prime rib, crab cakes and steamed crabs. The Gerapatritus family and their staff are friendly and treat you like royalty.
The best Prime Rib around. You will not pick around fat, pure Meat. To die for Lobster. Great place for holding a party
The food here is top notch and priced for everyone’s budget. The staff is friendly and genuine. It’s a family friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome. I love ❤️ Michaels.
I was pleasantly surprised by this great local place. I was looking for a great prime rib and through Yelp found this spot. The outside looked sketchy but I am so grateful that I went inside and gave it a chance. It is clear it is a local favorite. The prices were great and the prime rib I had was awesome. I found my new steakhouse!!!
Never disappointed. The food is always excellent. The staff is professional. I like the atmosphere. Thanks again!

The food was phenomenal! I can't wait to go back again and try even more menu items. My husband cut his filet mignon with the side of his fork! I topped my soft crab with crab imperial that was absolutely incredible.
Hidden gem located in East Baltimore. Really good crab cakes. Also the best Cream of Crab soup that I ever had.
My partner and I patronized this establishment 11-25-23. We were promptly greeted and seated. Our server Oscar was tentative and polite. I ordered a (Medium Well) Sirloin & Lobster Combo. My man ordered the Sirloin & Crab Cakes Combo. There was a bit of a wait for our food to come out. I'm unsure the actual reason but it happens sometimes, no big deal. My steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We both agreed our steaks were delicious! I would recommend this location and specifically the Sirloin Steak.
Went to Michael's for my birthday as a less expensive alternative to Ruth's or Capital Grille. This place is old school in every sense of the word.
Noticeable cleaning agent smell and weird drink menus made ordering a little challenging. The food saved the day though. We got stuffed mushrooms and crab balls and both were tasty and excellent. Entrees ranged from crab cakes to fish to NY Strip to 32oz prime rib. All of them were served to perfection. Trust me when I say you won't go home hungry and will likely take home leftovers too.
Prime rib was supérb, yet Fred Flintstone sized. NY strip was great too. A little on on the med-rare side, but not enough to send back. Crab cakes were great and made traditionally without a majority of filler. Everyone loved the food.
If you're feeling nostalgic, then this is the place to go. The decor is old school but the food was excellent.
Drawback: tip was included on the bill (we had 5 at the table).
Recommended.
I'm rating this all 5s given my initial experience amd since they say 1st impressions count then that's my reason.
After 2hrs of trying to decode what to eat and more so trying to find a parking spot in downtown, I pulled up Michael's in Google maps headed for the unknown.
On arriving parking was easy (and free; street as well as there are spaces in the back) and we were met by Brooke our server who made sure that 2hr delay was quickly satisfied.
If you love a good steak get the 40oz Porter House, you won't regret it. 👌🏽
Thanksgiving night very friendly atmosphere. All staff very professional. Excellent quality on food at good prices. Service staff all friendly and motivated to help. Jaimie gave us great service. A great holiday dining experience i would recommend to anyone.
This is a hidden gem in Baltimore. I really enjoyed the food, the service was phenomenal and a wonderful atmosphere. I was there for lunch and it was a little quiet, which just made everything great. The Ribwich was humongous and so flavorful.
Very classic family owned restaurant no fancy decor or frills but the food and service is always good. I’ve actually been here several times to enjoy their nightly specials as well as reserve the private room for a birthday party and everything was great! The prime rib is phenomenal as well as their other amazing specials. I’ve never had the lobster ironically. Most of my visits are spent at the bar, it can get a nice crowd of people on the weekends but during the week it’s easy in and out. If you haven’t been here you should definitely check them out.
Don’t be fooled by the appearance. This place is packed full with flavor!!! Went during restaurant week and was delighted. The service was excellent. The steaks were huge. And the crab chowder was full of crab meat. The imperial was chunks of crab. I can’t believe this is my first time patronizing the establishment. They appear to have daily specials ( you can get a 26oz steak for $17 on Tuesday). The baklava is made fresh and warm when it comes to your table. The bread was massive and warm! First impression is the charm and I’m impressed. Too much food to finish the meal. The vegetables are lacking, but everything else over shadowed them so no loss there.
I’ve been several times over the last 2 years with friends—ok how can I say this—-
I think this is my favorite spot for steak, excellent service, good times with friends, and good seafood—
I could be here all day talking about how 5/star this place is—
Just go trust me go!
I found this great place because it was highly recommended on Google. And I would very much agree with the high rating. Parking was easy, I was seated very quickly upon arrival and received very prompt service and food. I got the feeling that this was a regular place for the locals which is always a good sign. The Monday night special 24 oz. prime rib for $16 was an excellent entree and a great value. Seldom have I had any better. I would definitely go back and recommend everyone give this place a try.
It’s like stepping back in time- in a good way. Friendly family-owned restaurant with straightforward steak focused offerings. Not the choicest aged-cuts you can find but generous and good value for money spent. Love in the food. Each day of the week has a special offering! Tuesday is Prime rib day while Thursday is steak night.
Food and drinks were excellent. My husband enjoyed the 40oz porterhouse and I had the stuffed flounder. I had a delicious long drop. We will definitely return.
I have lived in Baltimore for over 30 years and have driven by this place hundreds of times but never went in, and now I'm kicking myself for it. It has a nice warm feel on the inside, a full bar and the food was outstanding. They don't just sell seafood either, there were Greek and Italian options as well. For the quality of food and the portions they give you, the pricing is great. They have a parking lot on the side of the building as well as some on street in the front. All of the servers there treat you like family and that's really rare, you can tell that they are treated well by the management. I was blown away by the experience there, you won't be disappointed!!!!!
The place looks kinda dated, the steak I can personally say was cooked to perfection as well as to order. If you're looking for crab cakes, this is the place, very tasty
The food was good but not for $30 tip mandatory tip especially when there's a boy laying down on the bar with his shoes on
We heard about the 40oz steak and my bf had to take it on. He was pleasantly surprised. He said it was delicious and juicy. I had the crabcake egg roll. Service was quick and the wait staff and bus boy was friendly. Will definitely be back. Perfect for date night.
