The food is awesome! So consistently delicious and made to order. I especially enjoy the Thai coconut soup and Thai pad noodles. They are the best! Always hot and on time for pick up too. The owner and staff are very friendly.

Delicious. Despite the m.... Delicious.

Despite the mixed reviews, my wife and I decided to give this restaurant a shot and we were pleasantly surprised.

The shrimp dumplings were seasoned well and quite tasty.

The pork rad nha (flat noodle stir fry) was slightly overcooked, but had the right amount of sauce and seasoning as well. It was a bit corny, but had a cute whimsical look to it with star and heart carrot cuts.

Chicken pad Thai is a must-try. My Thai wife really enjoyed it. The trick to it is to add extra fish sauce, sugar, and pepper to your preferred taste. It's a traditional way of preparing it so ever customer can adjust it to their liking.

From a previous review... Making pad Thai with peanut sauce is absurd. It's a dipping sauce for a reason. It's almost an insult to Thai cuisine.

Anyhow, definitely recommended!

Good food. A bit over priced. Family owned. I recommended the drunken noodles and spicy brown fried rice. The curries are good too. I wish the portions were bigger. The family works very hard. Authentic thai.

So fresh and authentic...This is the best Thai food I have had since being back from spending 3 months in Thailand. I had the Thai salad, green curry with chicken and the coconut soup and I can't forget the thai tea. It was all very delicious. A very laid back and casual atmosphere, so do not expect anything to happen in a snappy way but relax and enjoy. I will definitely be coming back again and again.

Freindly & tasty. Decent tasting, although in fairness I wouldn't know if I were eating authentic or not. I'm happy with lemon grass green curry sauce from Trader Joe's. That being said, the staff was friendly and my companion also enjoyed her meal. I would go back to this 4 table joint, but perhaps I'm too spoiled to a Chinese lunch special for $5.95. Or perhaps I'm a cheapskate, either way that's how much I think their ungenerous meal here should cost.

Best Thai outside of Thailand. Best Thai food I've ever had; granted, I haven't been to Thailand. They've got a great variety of dishes, including appetizers, soups, curries, noodles, rice, and desserts. Most all of the dishes can be made with vegetables, tofu, chicken, beef, pork, or shrimp for varying prices. All the dishes are drowning with flavor. Go with a friend or two and get a variety and share them with each other for the best experience. My favorite menu items include the sweet and sour, yellow curry, chicken satay, tom yum soup, and mango sticky rice.

Mediocre but descent... C+. I gotta admit, I'm pretty critical (especially here 'cause I've been to Thailand).

My sister and I visited tonight.
Started with some designer sodas -- Boylan's Black Cherry (pretty good) and Root Beer (thumbs up by my sister).
Got the following dishes:
Thai coconut soup (with chicken) C+
Chicken/cheese wontons. B-
Green Curry (w/Chicken) D+
Pad Thai (with shrimp). B.
Green Curry: Now it doesn't take a "foodie" to realize that bastardizing the traditional recipe with the likes of carrots, string beans, peas and corn is: 1) rookie 2) cheating the customer (using less expensive food items in place of authentic items) 3) giving people a really confusing impression of "thai food". And it's not like the cooks are experimenting with a new style of Thai food. The green curry NEVER made my brow sweat and that is essential.

The Pad thai noodles were nicely served and the shrimp was generous, so that brought up the overall rating. If that hadn't occurred, the place would have scored a solid C-.

Nice people, though, and reasonable prices.

This restaurant is a good local Thai restaurant the food is nice and traditional family owned like most little walk in restaurants. The drunken noodles are very good and so is the yellow curry and chicken satay however their is not as much sugar in the food as most Thai restaurants so if you like more sweet foods I would probably recommended the sweet and sour.

It's so nice to be able to sit in a space with a nice breeze through an open window with delicious food that is served piping hot. This place is such a jewel. I am so glad I found it and will enjoy it regularly! The prices are reasonable, the portions generous, the atmosphere casual and friendly. Win win win!

The Kaprow Gai Kai Dow was phenomenal! I was enamored with this dish and would definitely love to consider getting this when I'm in the mood for Thai style cuisine! Hopefully an option gets added (in the recommendations section) to recommend this dish too. The drunken noodle was a unique experience, but tasty as well. Definitely will be considering another visit here to try out more menu options!

Newly renovated on the interior. Awesome job turning this place into one of the nicest dining/carry out place around the neighborhood. Family run, food is still great as usual. If you like authentic Thai food taste, this is a place to come. Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles are a must try!! Update: December 2019 - After closing down for a while for the owner to fix the building, the long wait is over!! Chokchai Thai Food is back and even busier than before! I though don’t mind the little longer wait since I know they put a good effort to make me a nice meal. Welcome back!!

A small but delicious restaurant. I went on a whim one day and I am SO glad I did! The food is plated so well you'd expect it to be more expensive, but it's very affordable and incredibly tasty. Togo orders are also done super quickly!

Got take out from here as they are not allowing dine in at the moment. Staff was very helpful and pleasant and the menu had the dishes my friend and I were looking for, plus some appetizers (veggie curry puffs) that I had not seen before. The location itself is not fancy but our food was surely delicious!!! Massaman curry was very tasty and the veggies in it tasted very fresh and were cooked just right. The veggie curry puffs were really good too.

I HIGHLY recommend this thai restaurant. I was passing through this neighborhood looking at removing a honeybee colony and saw Chokchai and decided to check it out. I ordered several dishes for my wife and I to try...WOW the food was really good with wonderful taste and perfect amount of spiciness. The chicken satay and homemade dumplings are a must. Fish curry and Pad see-ew made our taste buds jump for joy. A seriously good meal and worth every penny. ENJOY in good health.

I ordered the shrimp pad thai and my daughter had the chicken pad thai. The noodles are absolutely delicious! My daughter is super picky when it comes to food and in her opinion these are the best tasting noodles. Only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because I've had better tasting shrimp at other restaurants and I feel it is a little pricey. However, this restaurant is definitely worth checking out if you don't mind paying a little more.

Such good food here. I've only had curbside carry out, so can't comment on the atmosphere. Good options for vegetarians, and gluten free. The chive dumplings are amazing, when the chives are in season.

Best Thai food I've had! The pad Thai is outstanding, as are the homemade dumplings (and that sauce!) The coconut soup is superb. Always a great meal, whether dine in or carryout!

Great, inexpensive Thai food. It's a simple mom and pop kind of restaurant, just a little hole in the wall so nothing fancy. Parking is difficult so walk if you can or order carry out. All in all a great, easily missed place for Thai food.
