Outback Steakhouse Barboursville

We hesitated to visit the Barboursville location because we have not felt the food was as good as the original owners of the OB corporation BUT we were craving OB wings, our favorites and only thing not to change from old days. Of course we ordered wings and the bartender warned us it may be a little slow bc managers were cooking bc they had call offs ( day after St. Patty’s day, go figure). I also ordered the lobster and sirloin special that I have been drooling over the TV commercials. Husband ordered his fave Alice Springs Chicken. Wings were perfect! Juicy and great flavor, cooked just right. So good I wish I had another order and could cancel my dinner. Perfect timing, came our meal. Bartender said my lobster was over cooked and he asked it be recooked so I started on my perfectly cooked wood fired sirloin. While I adore ribeyes, this sirloin was unbelievably tender and juicy. Perfect, as was the fluffy baked potato. Lobster tail took no time and it was, again, perfect. Lobster tails are almost always dried out and tough from baking but this was moist, tender and mouthwatering. My hub said his AS chicken was great! Outback, you may have redeemed yourself today. We were thrilled. My hub worked there before original owners sold out and when it was at its peak, but today seemed like old times. Great job. I wish I caught the bartender’s name who waited on us. He was impressive. Now for the downer. While looking for a place to post this, I see Ashland fired Haynes Watson, proprietor. Are you kidding me!?!?!? Hmm He is blamed for the sales$$$ In a screwy economy and fierce competition?!?!? You will find no better. As a matter of fact they are being heavily boycotted bc of this. Don’t mess with people here. They can force your doors shut! I miss the old days when OB treated their staff like they wanted their customers treated. That’s why they always had the cream of the crop staff. Now they are just another cold business making a dollar at any cost. Good luck Haynes. You will be snagged in a heartbeat. I hope it’s the competition �

I would like to say that Cadence is the best server I have ever had. The food was meh, the wait for it was long, but she was so up beat and positive that it made it all ok! So thank you Cadence for your positive attitude tonight!

Ate in the bar area yesterday evening 12-18-17 after a long travel day. We were greeted by a bubbly young lady who was on the spot. Great drinks, great appetizers & dinner was awesome. The service was great. Thanks to our young lady server for a great experience. If we should be in the area again will be a return to the Outback.
