One of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge- this place never disappoints! The food is absolutely amazing...I've literally never had anything I didn't like! Specials are always kicking! Always have great service even when the place is packed! Great place to go for any occasion!
Louisiana Lagniappe Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in town with the most exquisite seafood and a great ambience in Baton Rouge. No matter what occasion to celebrate, Louisiana Lagniappe is the best!! Cheers!!
This is a great restaurant in Baton rouge, located on Perkins Road.
The food is excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the management warm and welcoming. If you are looking for great food and ambience, this is the place.
Have been going to Louisiana Lagniappe for years and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal. We love this place!!!
Everything tasted great and we had excellent service. It is a bit pricey ..2 people $90 so it will be a once in a while place to eat.
We had fried crab claws, red bell pepper soup (with seafood) and the Louisianne, fish topped with crabmeat. All items were excellent!! It is one of best restaurants in BR. Impeccable service, great drinks and fair prices. It is my Dad and my favorite in town.
Louisiana lagniappe is and will always be one of our favorite restaurants! We were there last night and the waitress Ashleigh (sp?) was amazing! The food was awesome as usual. We had the fried crab claw appetizer, sensation salad, Tournedos with fried shrimp instead of grilled, and creme brûlée for dessert. OMGGGGGG we are still RAVING about the meal! Always, always, always a great meal!
All of the soups are wonderful! I always order the Louisiane-why change it if I always love it! Also-one of the best filets I've ever put in my mouth! Who knew a seafood restaurant could cook steak too! Blueberry bread pudding is to die for!
This restaurant never disappoints!!! Service, food, and drinks are always exceptional!!! Last night, my husband and I both started with the crawfish bisque and it was amazing!!! We have never had anything bad at Louisiana Lagniappe...one of the best restaurants in Baton Rouge!!!
Great service, good sized portions, nice folks all through the restaurant and the seafood is the very best I've ever had when in Baton Rouge. There was a long wait to be seated, but that does not take away from the overall experience, and once you're inside, it's easy to understand the wait for such an outstanding place to dine!
Wow! Absolutely some of the best food I've ever eaten. And an A+ staff!
The food was excellent and the atmosphere amazing! My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary and truly enjoyed ourselves. Our waiter was amazing, knowledgeable, and so helpful. Highly recommend Louisiana Lagniappe!
Wonderful atmosphere, food was beyond our expectations, courteous attendants, met the owner, he made a great first impression. Definitely our new special place for fine dining.

This restaurant is upscale dining. Great staff, delicious food. Lovely experience.
Food was excellent. Wait was too long...they need to take reservations. Tables too crowed together & noise level way too high. Loved the food, but not the place.
Great food, high price tag. The fish tacos are amazing! That's what I got so that's all I can speak about. I think it's a bit overpriced, but I must be wrong due to the restaurant's success.
Entrées feature delicious renderings of Louisiana seafood fresh from the bayou and the Gulf of Mexico with sumptuous signature Cajun French style toppings such as fried soft shell crab, hollandaise, and roasted pecans (fish a la Pontchartrain); jumbo lump crabmeat (Louisianne), char-grilled shrimp with chipotle beurre blanc (Chipotle), garlic beurre blanc with fried crawfish, fried artichoke hearts, béarnaise sauce (Cocodrie), etc., etc. There are endless appetizers prepared from the freshest oysters, crabmeat, and shrimp. The steak and poultry offerings are equally appealing. The salads come out with fresh, chilled greens and unique toppings that are mouthwatering. Services is efficient, professional, and timely. Unless you go at opening time, around 5:30 PM, expect an extended wait since the restaurant is always crowded, with a waiting line. And don't go for the decor since the furnishings are quite plain but the food is served on eye-appealing, traditional New Orleans style white tablecloths, silver, and crystal.
Spectacular, a bit pricey but worth it. Service is spot on, house oysters as good as anywhere in New Orleans. The array of fish preparations is creative.
Definitely one of the best in Baton Rouge. Make sure you get there early to avoid the wait...it pays to eat early. Not literally but you get the picture 🤓. The parking lot gets full but you can park in the news channel's lot behind it and walk through an opening. The wait staff is amazing. Our waitress was Ashley. Everything from the bread basket to the sensation salad is simple yet full of flavor. You can't go wrong with an appetizer or entree decision. For dessert, their cookie sundae is a very warm cookie with vanilla ice cream on top. It's plenty to share. This is a BR must!!!
Really good restaurant with amazing food. I generally order an off the menu steak called the filet Louisiana. Highly recommend that steak. No reservations taken so get there early or be prepared to wait.
Great service by the staff and the oysters were phenomenal! Also the corn and crab bisque is worth the trip. Plan to return when I am in the area again
Early weeknight dinner. After eating at the Destin location for some 10 plus years we finally tried the location in our new hometown of Baton Rouge.
Got there early and sat at the bar waiting for the better half. Had a nice bourbon drink and the hostess came over right after my wife came in and said we better be seated due to it filling up fast. It is crowded so me getting there right at open time was key to us stopping in. I do not do hour waits.
Server was friendly, professional and explained the menu well. The food was outstanding and the oyster app was maybe the best one dish so far in our limited Baton Rouge time spent eating out. The fish dishes also were well prepared and tasty along with the sides.
It can get pretty rich so gauge your tolerance for richness and go from there. It was a very good meal.
The inside is not nearly as large as you would think which is why it gets crowded early and stays that way, The Destin location is likely three times this size.
We will certainly return and try some other dishes on the menu but will adhere to our own advice and arrive early.
Recommended heartily.

Oysters Lagniappe. Amazed by these
AWSOME!!!
Best seafood in town! Huge hunks of crab meat in the crabmeat auguraren. Sensation salad is wonderful too. Lagniappe oysters are outstanding!!
The crab and corn bisque was life changing! Huge pieces of crab meat and great flavor. Visited on a Wednesday evening and was surprised to find an hour wait. Be prepared for a bit of a wait.
First time visiting and thought it was fantastic. Yes, many dishes were fried but they were all great. Service was fantastic. Hostesses helped seat me and ensure service in the bar area during busy evening rush and staff was wonderful with the recommendations!
Frequently visit!. Have been here over 25 times at least over the years. Consistently great! Have had a couple of negative experiences, but it's too good to stop going. My Mom's favorite place in town for quite some time now. Took my wife on our very first date there a few years ago, so that's worked out well! haha
Consistently Good Food. I've eaten at Lousiana Lagniappe about 7 times (I'm from out of town). I've tasted several of the entrees, but the one that keeps me coming back is the first item on the menu: Fresh Fish en Papillote Description: "Filet of fresh fish topped with lump crabmeat and shrimp stuffing, baked in parchment paper and finished with a light garlic beurre blanc" Rich, creamy and goes down smooth! For appetizers, the thinly sliced fried eggplant medallions with lump crabmeat are very good--not greasy at all. To avoid the long wait for a table; get there right at opening time (5:00- 5:30 pm) or after 8:00 pm to beat the dinner crowd. The atmosphere is casual and the servers have always been friendly and efficient. I've got a craving for the Fish en Papillote just writing this....wish they were open for lunch, too.
Waiting in the Bar had a good drink. It seemed that it was going to be fabulous, but by the end of the meal, everything was just okay. As others have posted, it was very noisy. Good Cajun Choices. The Baked Oyster Appetizer was tasty. We had the Tournedos, which was very good. Banana's Foster Bread Pudding was a little disappointing. Agree that service was mediocre. Salads came out fast, too much dressing, entree even faster. From great to good. They seem to have an Identity Issue--fast food Cajun or Fine Dining. Liked it, but would not make an effort to go back.
One of the best in BR. This place is a cross between fine dining and a laid back Cajun kitchen. Me and my wife really love the atmosphere here because its not too stuffy or uppity, but they do really good cajun/creole food.
All of their fish is great. You really can't go wrong with any of the options. The fish is dense and rich, tasting almost like crabmeat, which is doubly incredible since they also top all of their fish dishes with crab.
As an appetizer, the fried eggplant topped with crab is always our favorite.
Overall, this is one of our favorite "nice" restaurants in Baton Rouge
Nothing special about their food. Tastes good though.
I wonder what the problems were for the 12% that didn't like it!!!
Great Seafood. I'm always skeptical to buy seafood outside the city of New Orleans, but I've seen a lot of great reviews. The food is great, I gotten some crab fingers and the yellow fin tuna steak; seeing its close to being a threaten species, better get some as often as you can, before they become illegal to catch. While they can't kick Mrs. Lela Chase out of business, they'll do a good job here in BR.
Great food and great service. Payed almost $100 on just me and my gf but we got the most expensive items on the menu and some drinks. Will go back
Great food, excellent service, well-managed. The only downside is that the tables are far too close together. It really needs to move to a much bigger location.
Excellent food, never had anything that was not great, will be back
Definitely one of my favorite restaraunts, the food here is awesome!
Lesguild. Just got home from our first visit to Louisiana Lagniappe. Wow, what wonderful food! Our waitress (Lauren) was the best ever. The marinated crab claws were great, the sensation salad was wonderful and the entrees were to die for., Then came the creme brulee, Yummmmmy! Finally a New Orleans quality restaurant in Baton Rouge. It's not some place we can go often, because it isn't cheap, but it is worth every penny. This is one restaurant I highly recommend. The only thing I found remotely wrong is the noise level. Also, go early. We got there when they first opened and before we knew it the place was full, so if you come any later, you may have to wait a while, but stick around, it'll be worth it.
Yum!. Since the outside looks like an old Mexican restaurant I didnt expect it to be so expensive not quite sure what I was thinking there (never judge a book by its cover right). The food is amazing though! I am from New Orleans and so far baton rouge doesn't have near the selection when it comes to seafood but lagniappe tasted like home and we loved it! The fish tacos where amazing! Honestly this is one of the best baton rouge restaurants ! I thought it was better than Jubans.
Good food! Great Environment.. We took my mother and father here for dinner during the holidays. They had very good food. A little more expensive than I thought it would be but definitely worth it when looking for an upscale restaurant experience. The seafood is fresh and tastes great. Would recommend to all.

The food is delicious, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. My server actually rushed me to order and never came to check on us. Also, my crab cake had pieces of shell in it and when I showed the waitress, she did nothing to fix the problem. I asked for dessert and she informed me that the kitchen staff had left for the night. I would go back to this restaurant, but will request a different server. The adjoining table had great service and I felt cheated.
Food was definitely pricey but was really good. Wouldn't recommend it for a usual everyday meal unless you are well off. But would say it is a place to go to celebrate or treat yourself every once in a while.
Not cheap but good comida!
INCREDIBLE!. I have been here a few times, and every time I go it has been amazing! My favorite items on the menu are the oysters lagniappe, the chipotle, and the tournedoes. Every time that i have gone I've tried the soup of the day and they have all been delicious but my favorite is the roasted red bellpepper soup. The wait is sometimes long but the hostess has usually over estimated the wait, and we have been able to sit well before our estimated wait time. The service was wonderful and our waiters really seemed knowledgeable of everything they were serving.

My all time favorite restaurant! All dishes are excellent; never a disappointment. A must for all visitors for an authentic south Louisiana seafood fare. Arrive early so no wait. However, if a wait then enjoy a cocktail in the bar.
Worth the wait if you happen to when it is busy. Absolutely the best restaurant in Baton Rouge!!!! been there at least 30 times and can't wait to go back again and again. Easily my wife and mines favorite place to go!!!!!
Consistently excellent. The thing I love about this place is the consistency. I often order the fish almondine and can depend on it being so great and the same each time but this is not the case for Mansur's or Juban's - I go to those places a lot also but the dishes are hit or miss depending on who cooks your dish that night. It does get crowded fast and parking is cramped so we go early. Maybe it clears later?
C'est Magnifique. OK, rant first - PLEASE start taking reservations! I don't mind waiting (and you WILL wait - it's that good) but either improve the paltry bar or allow me the luxury of setting a reservation.
Now for the praise...
There isn't anything here that won't blow your socks off and nothing will impress your out of town guests like dinner at Louisiana Lagniappe. Great value, too - the wine selection is top notch but priced very much within reason, and the quality of the meal far exceeds the final bill. You're basically getting New Orleans style fine cuisine at a Baton Rouge price.
This is my favorite restaurant. Get the ponchatrain with lump crab meat added. Simply amazing. Food is always consistent and fresh. Overlook the lemon wedge and kelp garnish that make it a little clunky. This is the stuff u take home your date's leftovers and raid the fridge at 2a.
Really nice cajun food.. One of the better cajun spots in town. Hidden from tourists in plain sight, which is even better.
Best Restaurant in Town. This place knows what they are doing.
The food is the star.
They dont' pretend to be upscale, but they have the best food in town.
Great value for you pay for.
Always consistent.
You need to try this place.
The Best!. By far the best seafood and steaks in Baton Rouge. Filet was so much better than Ruth's Chris! Service is excellent, and the food is always great!
Great fooddddd. A little more dressy than Mike Anderson's and Parrain's and a little pricier, but the food is extremely high quality, unique and well prepared
recommended items:
yellowfin tuna was excellent. had a sweet, honey glaze type sauce which was tasty. prepared perfectly and very fresh
grilled fish in papillote. excellent fresh fish (drum for me) seasoned, sauced, and cooked in papillote paper to keep in the juices.
seafood egg rolls - healthy portion of seafood in the egg rolls.
-some things that were good but could be better:
baked oysters could use a few more oysters, but its mixed with an excellent blend of greens/herbs, breading and cheese.
ponchartrain style - i think Acme and Parrains take this one. Lagniappe version had a little too much breading for a thin filet, and not much sauce. the crab was good.
I liked this restaurant, or rather, I at least want to like this restaurant. Lots of near misses here. I had the seafood gumbo, which really shouldn't be taken seriously. As far as this Texan from Austin is concerned the gumbo was a waste of good roux. I sat at the bar since I was dining alone. The service was shotty at best. But the fish was genuinely good. I had the black drum, pan fried and topped with crabmeat. Lots of tasty crabmeat made this a winner. A couple more knocks though, if you want to be a good restaurant, lose the kale garnish. Also, nobody wants lemon seeds in thier fish, so if you aren't going to remove them, at least use those cheesecloth screens around the lemon wedges. This place is really pretty close to be much, much better.
Best Restaurant in Baton Rouge. There is no comparison in the city. Excellent service, reasonable prices, amazing food, and strong drinks! Have been eating there for years and the only bad things I can say is that this place is no longer a secret. Great location around the Mall of Louisiana and Perkins Rowe, and even though I have to wait anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour and a half it is well worth the wait. If anyone hasn't been there yet it is a must. Every appetizer is divine and I highly recommend the Ponchatrain for softshell crab lovers and if you like steaks ask the server about the Filet Louisiane thats topped with the best crabmeat you can find.
High-end Cajun/Creole food -- outstanding restaurant. Worth driving through a rare southern Louisiana snowstorm with crazy Louisiana drivers who are not used to driving in rare Louisiana snowstorms!
Great food!!. One of my favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge. The food is always fresh and delicious. Be prepared to leave stuffed because the entree portions are huge. Even though it is a seafood restaurant you should try the pork chop special (if they have it that evening) They are amazing! Its 2 large bone-in pork chops with a spicy chipolte sauce with shrimp on top! And if you can save room for dessert try the creme brulee or the blueberry bread pudding!
Long wait, because the food is GREAT! Had the bar-b-que shrimp as an app. They were terrifiic. Oysters bienvenue was outstanding. And as an entree I ordered off the menu the Filet Louisiana which was outstanding! Filet mignon topped with a generous portion of lump crab meat, hollebdaise sauce and bernaise sauce. I WILL be back! Kind of noisy so that killed the romance, but that ok, we came to eat
Greg Tasting Food and Service. The food and service was great. We went there because our son had given us a $75 gift certificate. The surprise was that for 2 people our bill was $102 including tip.
I trusted the reviews and we stopped here on our way from Dallas to New Orleans. It was fantastic - and I'm very critical. The lobster bisque will make you slap your mama, it was the best I've had.
Best Seafood in BR. This is the best and most consistent Seafood Restaurant. Great Soups and Gumbo, and great fish. Everything is good even the Steaks. Reasonable wine list as well!
Excellent food, menu and atmosphere. The Louisiana based menu is varied and the quality is always consistent. There are a lot of seafood choices as well as other options, and the steaks are great. Nice bar to wait in if it is busy.
