This is our newest favorite spot to enjoy Louisiana food!! The food was to die for and the staff was great. We never waited longer than 5 to 10 minutes for any of the plates we ordered, yet tasted perfectly!! We had the turtle soup with the home made rolls, the whole shebang for dinner and the pecan pie a la mode!! We would absolutely recommend this place for a great date night out!!

Tonight at Parrains I witnessed the most amazing display of true compassion, courage, teamwork and pride. From top to bottom the fantastic staff defended a young patron from a idiot bigot at the bar. The speed with which they dispatched this crude scum was startling and one of Baton Rouge 's finest sealed the deal.
Both Kristian and Fallan the bartenderssped from behind the bar to end the verbal assault and the Managers, Adam and Katie appeared out of nowhere. They addressed the young man and woman and did everything they could to comfot them, apologize and make it known that behavior was out of bounds. The officer calmly but forcefully with Taser ready removed the moron from the premises.
On that alone there are not enough stars to give them. I mean it was both horrendous and redeeming in the same instance.
We were shortly afterwards shown our seats for dinner. Our waitress asked if we had come from the bar and proceeded to apologize to us.
We enjoyed or overindulged on an amazing meal which to me was icing on the cake.
Sorry for the long post but this had to be said. I would patronize Parrains every time I came to Baton Rouge.
What a night and i hope this young couple can reflect on the actions of the staff and other patrons not the imbecile.
One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Service and locals eating there were awesome. Their seafood was to die for and their home made pepper jelly salad dressing was heavenly. Best coleslaw I have ever eaten as well. There prices were reasonable and their hospitality was top notch.
The best seafood Restaurant I’ve been to! I ordered Etouffee and fish and it was Superb! My waiter was excellent I think his name was Trent idk but we never had an empty glass! Most definitely will be coming back! ��

We’ve been many times over the years and the food is still delicious, the waitstaff always attentive, and if you have to wait, it’s never long. We have ordered the steaks, chops, shrimp, and catfish with nary a complaint.

Food was amazing, inside was nice and spacious. Our waiter recommended food and answered questions we had, he was very knowledgeable. The experience was fantastic all together. We live about 6 hours away, but will definitely return one day when we are back in the area!

The food and service was great. It did not take long to get the appetizers even though it was Father's Day and there was a lot of people there. And it did not take long to be seated. I'm very happy with everything at parrians
Nothing bad can be said about this restaurant!!! This is probably the best seafood restaurant in Baton Rouge. Their chargrilled oysters are a family favorite. Don't skip this place!!!
Great staff but more important incredible grilled fresh oysters! I had 6 raw and 6 from the grill - if you sit at the bar they shuck them right in front of you as well as cooking them on the grill!
Umm DELICIOUS and a staple you MUST visit if you're visiting Baton Rouge. The seafood is outstanding and the oysters on the half shell can't be beat. I think they have an outer special too on certain days. You can't go wrong!
Long overdue for another visit here as they are top five in the local area overall.
Sort of a more casual seafood lovers place along the lines of Lagniappe but much more approachable with larger dining area, really great bar and top oysters in the area, raw and grilled.
Some dishes are big enough to share and some can be very rich so keep that in mind.
Putting it back on our list for a visit soon.
Went here yesterday and again today. My husband and I were blown with the food. It was simple home style Cajun food. Tommy was our waiter and was great, very attentive. We had charbroiled oysters, gumbo, crab and corn bisque, Pontchatrain fish, filleted drum, the whole shebang, and the boudin omelet!
This was a meal oh so close to perfection. The service was excellent. The bread oh the bread was addictive. My fish was cooked perfectly. The gumbo was on the creole side and my only knock as it was just warm not hot. I do highly recommend Parrins to anyone wanting a good seafood meal.

This is the authentic Cajun/Creole style fixings... oysters bienville, boudin, fried alligator, boiled shrimp and crawfish... and those are just the appetizers. Add soups like seafood gumbo, crab and corn bisque, turtle soup and you are in Louisiana bayou country. Entrées read like... Andouille Encrusted Fresh Fish, Crawfish Etouffe, Catfish Perdou, BBQ Drum Fish, New Orleans BBQ Shrimp, and these, together with an outstanding meat menu, put you in South Louisiana, feasting on sumptuous, super seasoned, country style cuisine and "Passing a good time". Not only is the restaurant recommended, it is essential if you want to taste Louisiana...LAISSER LA BON TEMPS ROULETTE!!
The grilled oysters were fantastic - mahi mahi was cooked to perfection and the creole sauce was spot on. Service was very helpful and attentive. Definitely will go here again next time I'm in town.
First time visit. Food was some of the best I have had anywhere. Oysters on the half shell were large. Grill oysters www amazing. Will be back the next time I am in town. Service was good.
Looked busy from the street but we parked right at front door. Tables were available, asked for a booth and greeter acted a bit inconvenienced. Seated at a booth in about 5 minutes. Great selection of beer, both draft and bottle. Shared an order of boudin balls between three of us and was a good and plenty appetizer. I had The Vermillion: Grilled fish (probably talapia with shrimp, mushroom, scallions, wine sauce. Served with a fresh baguette shaped warm bread, a large serving of well cooked broccoli and hollandaise. I was well pleased with the entire experience.
I can't say enough positive things about this restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere. Consistent food quality, taste, preparation and presentation. Parrain's consistently lives up to their rave reviews. Friendly staff, wonderful taste. While I would consider some things overpriced, I'm willing to pay more for the quality of the food. Shrimp Alfredo lunch special on Fridays...amazing. Pontchartrain fish plate....double amazing...The Delacroix...triple amazing. If you are in Baton Rouge, this is THE PLACE to eat for seafood.
Who goes to seafood spot and orders chicken? This guy. I'm not a big seafood fan, but several friends told me to try out Parrains's. I knew I was off to a good start when I had a hard time finding a parking space. You have to look for the building way at the back of the parking lot. The atmosphere is very casual and laid back. I had the chicken platter with dirty rice and mashed potatoes. I also ordered an appetizer of hush puppies, which were solid. Just a little bit sweet with tiny bits of bell peppers. My chicken had great flavor and it was juicy, and the dirty rice is quite possibly the best I've had. On my next visit I will need to step out my comfort zone a little and try some seafood.

Awesome food---all the time. The Maurepas and the fried shrimp/catfish combo are my favorites. Very good and attentive service! Even ventured out from the delicious seafood and got the pork chop (recommended by our server)---outstanding! A must visit!
In town for work..had the raw oysters, tamale special, and BBQ shrimp. Oysters were mild and sweet. Half price Tuesday was nice. Tamales were light and flavorful and came with salsa instead of a classic sauce. Still good though. The star of the evening was the heads on BBQ shrimp. Tails were peeled and the heads were sweet. Slightly over cooked for my preference but that let them soak in the creamy spicy butter sauce. Local beer on tap. Will return.
This is the place to go for a dressed up fish filet. My personal favorite is the Delacroix which has this amazing mustard sauce that goes perfectly with the mashed potatos. Bread is sinfully delicious (almost seems like they bake it in a notable amount of butter). My major complaint is the saltiness...I wish the cooks would allow us to adjust salt to taste rather than going overboard. Oh, and get the boudin balls!
Christian was our great server! When I dine around lunch time, I usually love my coffee to keep coming so the fact that I never had to ask was awesome! I was waiting on my friend so in that time she explained the special which was the blackened shrimp Alfredo! It came with a salad and little butter toast that was so good! Price was especially nice! I'll be back especially cause it's so cute and cozy in there! Also the bathrooms were clean which tells me the mgmt runs this place well! Nobody standing around always being helpful! Keep up the good work

Really, really good. Parrains is my go-to on Fridays, when they have their Tabasco & mustard-marinated catfish special. It is always cooked perfectly and has a good kick. I usually get a side of coleslaw which is probably the best I've ever had -- the peanuts in it add an extra layer of flavor and crunch. Their turtle soup is great, as well. There's also always a nice supply of eye candy since LSU girls are some of the finest in the land.
Great service. Had the oysters Bienvulle as appetizer. Some of the best we've had. The soft shell crab was delicious as was the fried shrimp. Highly recommend it.
Always our go to place for any kind of seafood. Chargrilled oysters, fried oysters and shrimp, fish fried, grilled or panceed. Always a wait, but oh!!!! so worth it. Sit in the bar and enjoy appetizers while you wait on a table. .
Excellent raw oysters. My wife and I ate there on a Tuesday which is the day for 1/2 priced raw oysters.

Good food, rustic atmosphere.. I just left there. Wednesday evening about 9 pm. Still crowded, a bit loud with people having a good time. Service was pleasant and attentive, but not overbearing. I had the half crawfish etouffee and half fried crawfish. It comes with a salad for $14.95. The salad was nothing special, mostly iceberg, with some croutons and a couple of grape tomatoes. The house vinaigrette was a touch sweet and a touch spicy. I thought the etouffee and fried crawfish were excellent. Fresh, tender, plenty of spice and flavor. The etouffee was served over rice (of course), and the plate came with a tiny individual loaf of French bread that had been doused in butter, sprinkled with spice, and warmed in the oven.
All in all, a very good meal and not a bad value, if not inexpensive.

Very good. The food is amazing. Always is, never disappointed. However, i'm not always impressed with the staff/service. Depends on who you get. Some are mediocre. Some just try to rush to the ticket to get their tip. Literally watched one wait for the ticket and discuss it pretty close to my table with other staff. But otherwise, great place. Always look forward to eating there.
Pretty Darn good, especially if you have food aller gies!. We were on our way to Destin from Texas and stopped for quick dinner, no wait, good food, fresh fish and a really great waiter...Mohammad. He was really thorough with my food allergy list, which is extensive. He took it to the chef and I was happy and FULL when we left! Great stop!

Andouille Encrusted Fish. Was in Baton Rouge on a Friday around dinner time and in the mood for seafood so we stopped by Parrain's. From the moment we pulled up we could tell this was a good choice since it was slammed but within a few minutes we were seated. We ordered the soup of the day (tomato bisque with crawfish) and the andouille encrusted fish with garlic mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and asparagus. Our waitress was attentive and our food came out quickly. I am glad we decided to share the andouille encrusted fish entree because it was not only delicious but a huge amount of food. If you haven't been to Parrain's Seafood you should go!

Love!. This is my favorite place to take out of town guest. They have a fairly wide selection on the menu and just about everything I've had has been wonderful, espically the Fried Shrimp! Everything come in generous portions, so I always leave with leftovers!

Great chargrilled items. Nothing better than sitting at the end of the bar at Parrains and ordering a chargrilled oyster dish! You can watch them cook it. I also like the Chargrilled Bacon Wrapped Shrimp on Sweet Potato Wedges from the appetizer menu. The only thing better is to sit on the patio for brunch on a cool Sunday morning. The Boudin Omelet is to die for! It's enough for two, so I recommend sharing on the omelets.
It's okay. A great place to go if you can't think of anywhere else to go. The restaurant is extremely busy which means it is probably a gold mine for some lucky owner.
Great food! Long wait times but the food is good and worth the weight (haha) most of the hostesses were awesome fun and energetic, eager to help, there was one issue with the red headed hostess who was a bit rude, but the other girls were very eager to fix the problem, good job management. Our server Erin was on top of everything! That baby didn't seem to slow her down a bit, great job! The food did take awhile, seemed like a little long, but It was really good and worth it! I'll be back for sure!

One of my favorite dishes. I ordered a grilled drum fish topped with crab. It was delicious. I couldn't eat the too spicey dirty rice that came with it, but, hey....this is Louisiana. I am anxious to try something new next time.

This is my favorite Baton Rouge Seafood restaurant. I've went their for years and great service all of the time. The only con is the size of the building and wait time for a table.
I eat here regularly. There is an excellent selection and the food is uniformly good. The waitstaff quality varies widely and randomly from excellent to indifferent, and the management really needs to teach the hostesses how to do their jobs professionally - I can't think of another restaurant of this quality in BR that has such consistently poor hostessing.
Update: still uniformly good food and poor hostessing. I would have fired the entire staff at the front desk during my last visit, on the spot.

Good LA seafood. Never had a bad experience here. Portions are great. Always busy. Well seasoned food.
Great Food!. Took my brother out with my family. Hadn't eaten there in a while (we loved it, but we like to try new places). He wanted to try some good LA food. We ordered different dishes so that he could try many things. We settled on The Vermillion, Andouille Encrusted Fresh Fish, The Delacroix, Catfish Perdue, Fried Shrimp platter, Fried gator tail and the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. AMAZING! All of it was good. Batters were light and not greasy, fish was flaky and moist, all dishes were hot and out at a fairly nice rate. The Bread pudding was awesome as well. Oh and we love, love their fluffy mini garlic bread that came with many of the plates. Olive Garden needs to take a hint from Parrains! OG's are like cardboard; gross!
We went at around 5:30pm. Always best to eat early at popular places. The kitchen staff is less hurried. We will come back!
Went for Sunday lunch today and it was amazing! I had the crawfish tails and crawfish etoufee and my boyfriend had the shrimp/fish platter. It was so good. The salad dressing (vinegarette) that they use is one of the best I've ever had. I will definitely return and I recommend it to anyone that wants good food and good service.
This restaurant is simply awesome. I have not had anything here that wasn't amazing. Worth every penny. My favorite restaurant has been replaced.
First Experience. Relaxing decor but a bit loud. The service was outstanding. A young lady named Diamond waited on us and did a great job. Very pleasant and was there when we needed her without bugging us too much. Great job Diamond!
I had a cup of seafood gumbo. It was really tasty but had way too much whole peieces of crab shell and claws in it. Not little pieces they missed but craked crab they intentionally put in the cup. I had nothing to crack the shells with to get the meat out. The crab shells took up half the cup. Next time I will tell them to not put it in at all. The taste of the gumbo was really good.
I also had a shrimp remoulade salad that was the best I have had in a very long time. I will definitely go back, in fact I am looking forward to going back very soon.
This is a great place! The charbroiled oysters are yummy! The coleslaw is incredible, unlike any other version I've had. The BBQ drum is wonderful - flaky and flavorful. Service is friendly and attentive. Fun atmosphere.

This place was outstanding almost from the beggining. the one concern, you see a sign from the road for the restaraunt but when you getto where you think it is you feel as if you are looking at an old essogast station. Not true this is it once you look at the parking lot you will see way to many cars for gas station. Service is impeccale, the food is to die for and the atmosphere is wonderful. this restarunt is truly woth the dollar on a scale from 1through 10 with 10 being the best this one rates a full 10
Just ate the most amazing dinner here. Everything was awesome.bwe started with the crab and crawfish au gratin. Wow! You must try the andouille fish. It was absolutely amazing. Definitely a must go to restaurant when in baton rouge. Great great find thanks to the Hilton staff that reccommended and brought us here. :)

Parrain's elbows into my "Top Ten" for seafood restaurants.. While working in Plaquemine I dined at Parrain's a handful of times and never ceased to be satisfied with the quality and piquancy of their Cajun seafood cuisine.
The atmosphere is pleasant although a little loud do to the amount of patrons they always seem to have. The service is satisfactory. The food.... outstanding! Try the Chargrilled oysters that are comparable to ACME's. The main courses are..... well..... I won't say "to die for" as I reserve that act for God, Country and Family but you get my drift. I ordered "The Whole Shebang" a couple times and everything on my plate was delectable, right down to the Hush Puppies and Coleslaw which were the best I've ever had!
I would highly recommend Parrain's to anyone in the Baton Rouge area looking for tasty seafood. Forget about Mike Anderson's, Parrain's is the shiz...

I previously at chimes east the weekend previous for brunch, came to parrains this weekend. I ordered the same thing, a boudin omelet. The chimes omelet was fantastic, but the one from parrains was disappointing, really really bland.. And this is south lousiana. On the otherhand, the service was fantastic. Really friendly And attentive.

Great all the way around. My wife and I went to Parrain's for the first time and it was great! The food was really good and fresh. The portions were very large and everyone took some home. The service and atmosphere were also very good. I can't find anything to complain about. Everyone we have sent there say the same.
Great food! Crab and crawfish ogatin was delicious. The service wasn't good at all. Our server was very rude. With the 18% gratuity tact on because our party was large, she received a much larger tip then she deserved.

I went to parrains for a graduation dinner with my family and was very impressed. The food was moderately priced but great quality, the server was quick and attentive, and the atmosphere is pretty nice as well. I ordered the Delacroix, which is mahi mahi topped with shrimp and a garlic butter sauce, served with salad, mashed potatoes and a butter roll. The fish and shrimp were great, and the mashed potatoes were surprisingly excellent. Also the remoulade dressing on the salad was great. Also, forgot to mention that we got a dozen char grilled oysters and eggplant topped with crab meat and hollandaise sauce for appetizers. The oysters were excellent but the eggplant was mediocre, and both were over-priced. We got cheesecake and white chocolate bread pudding for dessert and neither were that great unfortunately. All things considered, though, I had a great experience and look forward to trying out more stuff on the menu.
