The food is always amazing along with the friendly staff. Great atmosphere and highly recommend to anyone for a special occasion. Drinks and appetizers at the bar are great for a quick drop in or dine in restaurant for a true experience in fine dining.
First visit. Fleming’s was “talked up” amongst our friends and it lived up to the hype.
Started of with the Seafood Tower and a bottle (turned into two) of a sweet red wine from South Africa. The “Tower” was two Lobster tails (de-shelled) and crab leg four giant shrimp and a dish of cubed ahi with freshly fried chips. Don’t forget the drawn butter. Perfect for two.
The wife had a filet mignon and I the aged Prime Rib with added seasoned shrimp. Both we’re cooked perfectly as requested.
Fresh hot sour dough bread was always on the table and the wine and water were consistently refreshed. Service was impeccable ;we had Jeremy who was very knowledgeable and provided superb advice, most of which we used.
We can’t wait for our next date.
Very Good. It's not my favorite. That being said, it's a fine steak restaurant. The dinning area is pretty loud, but I really like the decor and setup. The calamari is a tasty app, and every salad I've tried has been exceptional. The steak is great, but oddly, on one occasion it was seriously overly salted. Service is top notch. I'll definitely return.
Lamb. My fiancé and I went here for VDay, the lamb chops are sooooooo good. It tasted like they freshly killed a lamb and threw it on a grill. Also, the service was swift. Though I must warn you, DO NOT get the aged steak. It is NASTY. I could have gotten a better steak from Applebee's.
Great place for special occasions. I don't mind paying for quality, and Flemings has really good steaks. I had the peppercorn New York strip, wife had the Sliced Filet Mignon and we both thought that they were among the best steaks we've had. I had no reservations, since "Bonefish" restaurant decided not to honor the reservation I had, so I came here, and they suggested a booth near the bar which was open and gets full service just as much as a table. That's a nice feature, so we took that. Also they make really good drinks, I had a Sazerac which was very good and probably larger than I usually get. Also the wine list on Ipads is very high quality and user friendly, you can filter their inventory by varietal, country, food pairing, etc, to find whatever wine for your mood. Menu is great, wish I had more of an appetite, but this will stretch your wallet a little, so save this for any special occasions or splurges.
Happy Hour. I can confidently say that, for the price, the happy hour burger is the BEST burger in Baton Rouge. I've eaten in the main restaurant before and it is truly delicious...chain or not.
Excellent dinner. We went on a Friday night and it was excellent from start to finish. We had the carpaccio to start, one of us had the small plate lamb chops with pistachio-mint pesto and polenta fries, and the other had a special with shrimp, lamb, and filet. The waitress was attentive without being bothersome, all the meats were cooked as ordered and tasted even better than they looked when they arrived. I know it's a little pricey but at least I left really happy. Other "cheaper" restaurants aren't so much when you think about how it really adds up money wise; I'd rather spend a little more and leave happier.
Best in Baton Rouge. I ordered the Filet and my husband ordered the Ribeye. My steak was so tender I could cut it with a fork and it melted in my mouth. MMy husband didn't have a crumb left on his plate. It was so much better than any other steak house we have been to in Baton Rouge, and thats saying something. We got the Flemmings salad and it was so good. The Flemmings Potatoes were wonderful. I had a mojito and it was very refreshing. We ended the night with the lava cake. OMG that just made the entire experience the best we have ever had. I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff was so excellent and worked as a team. I love this place.
This is definitely my favorite restaurant for special occasions. Me and my wife share a salad, appetizer, steak, and sides and it is plenty of food.

Fantastic Steaks. Fleming's isn't the cheapest place in the world, but I've yet to be disappointed by a single item. The appetizers are always delicious, the steaks are consistently above reproach, and the sides are mouth-watering.
If you want one of the best fine-dining experiences in Baton Rouge, Fleming's is high on the list of places to go.
And if you want to check it out on a cheaper budget, check out their happy hour, with specialty drinks, wine, and an array of appetizers all for affordable prices.
A Letter To Fleming's Corporate. Just a quick note to let you know what an extraordinary dining experience I enjoyed with my wife last night at your Baton Rouge location.
From the moment we were greeted at the door we felt special. Everyone who would be waiting on our table was introduced to us by the hostess and our waitress was very personable while informing us of the various Flemmings entrees, appetizers and other highlights from your menu and wine list.
During the course of our meal, we were welcomed by your Operating Partner and the Sous Chef! What a nice touch! And the food was amazing. Most restaurants in Louisiana try to dazzle you with toppings, smothered sauces and rich side dishes. Your entrees were simple, elegant and spoke for themselves. I had the bone in Ribeye and my wife had the Filet. Both seasoned to perfection. Our appetizers were French Onion Soup and a Wedge Salad. The waitress offered a suggestion by drizzling some Balsomic Vinegrette on the already vibrant Blue Cheese dressing. It was delicious and different! We also enjoyed the Chipolte Mac & Cheese, another exquisite treat! Our meal was topped off with a Chocolate Lava Cake.
We have since found a new place to frequent for special occasions. You should be proud of your team in Baton Rouge. Everything from "soup to nuts" was a perfect 10. In our opinion you have set the standard for hospitality and dining!
Congratulations,
Mike Benson
Great Experience. Went to Fleming's for a private party, so my opinion might be skewed... but I had a great time. My filet was cooked perfectly and the appetizers were yummy. The wedge salad is large and the Fleming's salad is really great. It comes with a small praline chip on top! Overall, the staff was very nice and very timely. The small party room was very intimate, but a little loud (you can hear noise from other meeting rooms and dining room). Fleming's makes a great sweet old fashioned! Overall, a wonderful, fine-dining experience.
Really great place to have business dinners lots of space and we always reserve the same table. Food and service has been great and I hope it stay consistant.

Fleming's 5-6-7 Happy Hour is a thing of beauty!. To see my full blog post with pictures please visit http://jaydducote.blogspot.com
I couldn't have planned this better. This is just love how things seem to work out for me... so they say. So, last night I started a blog about my life as it relates to food and drink. And today, for happy hour, I met some good people at Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar for, what else, food and drink! Fleming's is pretty much my favorite place to go in Baton Rouge. Usually it is only on a special occasion when I get to go, but every now and then, and especially at happy hour with the 5-6-7 deal, I get to go just for fun. I'm typically not such a big fan of corporate eateries or watering holes but this one is special. It turns out that I know the chef partner that opened the restaurant from college days. And then, the real important thing, one of my best friends, Eusebio Gongora, took a job there and has worked his way up to Sous Chef and doesn't seem to be stopping there. Everything seems to taste better when he brings it out to the table and can add that personal touch. He has the best food mind that I know but has no formal training. All of his knowledge comes from his own learning and personal experience... you know, the kind of stuff they can't teach in a classroom.
This evening I met my buddy Brent Broussard, LSU soccer star Chelsea Potts, and my brother, Eric Ducote, at Fleming's for a couple rounds of cocktails and some fine dining. We got a table on the patio area outside because the weather in Baton Rouge was fantastic today. I started off with a nice Petite Sirah from the Vinum Winery in California. It was a tasty red wine that certainly wet my appetite for more concoctions. Every Wednesday in September Flemings was giving away samples of their burgers during happy hour. We got to try the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake Burger, Portobello Mushroom Burger, Fleming's Prime Burger, and the Sliced Filet Mignon Burger. All four were fantastic, but my favorite was the portobello which included sauteed spinach and goat cheese. It was a unique creation with flavors that blended together perfectly between the buttery bun. After I finished my glass of vino I looked at the 5-6-7 drink menu and decided to give their cocktails a try. I'm all-too-often a beer drinker, followed by bourbons, red wines, and then rarely other drinks. It is not because I dislike the taste, so I imagine it is just a routine that I've fallen into. Perhaps this blog will bring me out of that pattern and I can give my take on the signature cocktails around town.
Shaken, Not Stirred
My first choice was the Fleming's Classic Martini. I do enjoy a good martini and it had been years since I had one. It was a slightly dirty beverage made with Ketel One Vodka. The olives were stuffed with blue cheese which created a very interesting flavor. I also tried a Fleming's Mojito which was a standard rum-mint-syrup-soda mojito mixture that was very clean and crisp and ideal for the outdoor weather. The final drink that I tried was a Tropical Martini made with Malibu coconut rum. This was definitely not my kind of drink. It was consumable, but very sweet and fruity. Such is life.
The beverages were great but the real treat of the evening was that we were also able try ALL the appetizers on the 5-6-7 happy hour menu. It was really a perfect amount of food for the four of us. Appetizer one was the seared ahi tuna. The seared tuna is marvelous at Fleming's. The sear around the outside is perfect and the fish is a delectable, melt-in-your-mouth slice of heaven served with a spicy mustard sauce that complements the dish perfectly. Next we had a taste of "wicked cajun barbequed shrimp". The well-sized crustaceans were served in a classic New Orleans style buttery, spicy sauce and were as good as any I've had before. The jumbo lump crab cakes were nice but certainly not the best crab cakes I've ever had. Still, it is hard to go wrong when you are working with really good lump crab meat. Next up was the beef tenderloin carpaccio served with a cheesy bread for delivery to the mouth. The thinly sliced beef was mouth-watering at first taste. It is definitely one of my favorite appetizers on the 5-6-7 menu. But the best in show for the night was not the carpaccio, it was the sweet chili calamari. The succulent squid was fried golden brown and drizzled with a sweet chili sauce that hit the spot. The flavor was immense as it had the truly perfect combination of sweet and spicy to go with the wonderful textures of the calamari.
To sum up, it was a great happy hour dinner and drinks evening with great friends. I'm really glad I got back in touch with the martini, and I definitely preferred the classic version. The mojito was delightful and I'd certainly drink one again on a nice Fall day. As far as the food goes, it was all spectacular. I love every time I get to go into Fleming's. The highlights were the Portobello Mushroom Burger and the Spicy Chili Calamari... but man, it was all so fabulous!
Happy eating, and drink for your health!
Amazing!!!!! The food was soooo good and the martini's are great... A must...
Very good. Everyone should try this place. The service was put of this world!!!
Nice atmosphere, had the bbq shrimp appetizer and it was superb. The chipotle mac & cheese was fresh, but disappointing to the taste buds...the cheese drowned out the chipotle taste. This place is pricey, so prepare yourself for sticker shock.
Pricey, but good..... I drank about five bloody marys, they were yummy! The sides are good--especially the creamed spinach. Also, the lettuce wedge was awesome!
