This is a nice neighborhood "Diner"/restaurant. It has a really nice dining room, along with a nice outdoor sitting area. The servers are really professional and friendly. The food during lunch is nice with a good selection of salads, burgers, and pasta dishes. Overall, this is a nice place to meet friends and colleagues for lunch or dinner.

Brought my son who is visiting for the weekend. There's a big party going on and yet stellar service remained. They even accommodated us when they saw my husband and son were watching football on their phones. They moved us to a table closer to the television and changed the chancel to the game we were watching. Yes, in spite of a big party going on, they paid attention to us. We were very happy with the service and always felt the VIP treatment. Of course, we always take advantage of their Fix Pre Menu again . The soup for the day includes pumpkin soup which imo was delicious. My husband had the chicken soup and he said a bit on the salty side otherwise it was good. So request less salt if you are considering to order the chicken soup.
Previous review- What not to like? Great atmosphere, clean, good food and excellent service. We met with friends and requested for an outdoor seating . It was perfect.... we did the fix pre and was the perfect decision. A lot of selections to choose from. Grilled or pan seared branzinos with fresh grilled vegetables were amazing. Same with their tuna piccata pasta. The recommended red wine was very good too. I love the virgin passion fruit mojito. Gregory , our server was awesome. Everyone ordered the baklava for their dessert and I opted for the Greek yogurt mousse ... which was delicious. It wasn't sour at all . So highly recommended. Great experience. If you will order the Greek coffee, it wasn't the same as my friends expected. They said it was weak for their taste . I am not a Greek coffee connoisseur so I can't speak for them.
This was my second time at Veranda. I enjoyed their weekend brunch and decided to come back for dinner. I wasn't disappointed.

Their food is amazing! I love the ambience. The customer service is awesome. They are a bit pricey but worth it. My favorite dish was the appetizer called risotto croquettes (lacto-ovo vegetarian friendly). Their magi avocado salad and spinach pie were phenomenal! Best spinach pie I ever tried ❤️

Veranda is definitely one of the hidden gems of Bayside . . . The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, with an outdoor patio area and walls and shrubbery that hides the restaurant front from the street. It gives the place a hidden, quaint, and romantic feel. The staff is excellent . . . the host is always very friendly, and the waiters are polite, attentive, and cheerful. The first time we had dinner here on a Friday night and were attended to by four waiters (with one main waiter). We've also recently eaten dinner here on a Monday night and were attended to by three waiters (along with the host who went out of his way to make sure that we were happy with our table and to make sure we had enough towellettes). The food is excellent - all the ingredients are always really fresh, and their forte really seems to be seafood. We would definitely also recommend the raspberry cheesecake, which is one of the best we've ever had. If I had to say something negative about the place, I would say that the menu does not offer many different dishes. There is a wide variety of foods - from salads, to seafood, pasta, steak, and chicken. But under each category, there might be anywhere from one to three different types of dishes. For example, if you are in the mood for chicken, they have only two different types of chicken dishes (a lemon chicken dish and a grilled chicken dish). However, each of these dishes were excellent, presented well, and made with the freshest ingredients. <br/><br/>I can't recommend this restaurant enough, and it's definitely become our go-to place whenever we entertain, have business dinners, or just want some quiet family time

YUMMYYYY!. I recently just moved back to Bayside from living in Arizona. I came across Veranda by accident two Sunday mornings ago with a group of friends and we THANK GOD WE STOPPED!!! The beautiful outdoor atmosphere made us feel like we were on vacation at a 5 star resort. We ordered the zucchini chips and calamari as an appetizer and they were both fried to perfection, not too oily, they were just perfectly crisp. After about 20 minutes of finishing our appetizers our main course came out and I could not wait to dig in! I ordered the Kobe beef "Veranda burger" and it was GREAT, the quality of the meat, the way it was cooked just to my liking was just perfect. My friend ordered an omelet and my other friend ordered the pancakes, and they both were very pleased with there breakfast!! I have already been back twice since then, once for lunch and once for dinner !! I have found my new FAVORITE spot!!!

Our recent experience at Veranda in Bayside, Queens was excellent! I organized a last minute birthday gathering for my ninety-five year old mother there on Sunday. As most last minute gatherings often do, the attendance grew out of hand. What started as a small brunch for six to eight people suddenly mushroomed to over twenty guests. The restaurant handled the fluctuating reservation numbers with quiet efficiency, assuring me at every turn that all was well. When everyone arrived there was ample seating for all and as a precaution the restaurant reserved an extra table for us to accommodate any additional last minute arrivals. If this was not remarkable enough, the food and service were equally impressive. From the golden brown waffles to the crispy French toast to my overstuffed Mediterranean omelet, to the wide variety of bountiful salads and sandwiches, everything was delicious, perfectly prepared and served in a timely manner by an incredibly accommodating wait staff. Bravo Veranda!

Delicious Food!. Appetizers were fantastic, recommend the zucchini chips and the mussels. My whole branzino was cooked perfectly. It was very fresh and simply seasoned. My co worker had the shrimp diablo and enjoyed it. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service was excellent. Highly recommend!

Veranda (as in We-Ran-Duh). If I could give this place 0 stars I would. this is going to be a lengthy review...<br/><br/>First off, this place is INCREDIBLY, RIDICULOUSLY RACIST! They bend over backwards and forwards to make sure that their white clients (especially Greek) are taken care of. The owner walks around shmoozing with them and making sure that theyre happy. My family and I (we're asian) went one night and not only did we have TERRIBLE service but we felt so out of place. They sure know how to make you feel unwanted. We had to wait about 35 minutes for the first salad to arrive. Then after we were done the waiter never showed up again! We didn't get our entrees until about 1.5 hours in. The waiter never once came by and asked how we were. The GEMS of the place are the busboys they hired. These people deserve a raise! The place is INCREDIBLY overpriced, so not worth the money. They are situated next to a funeral home and on a busy street so its not like the views are good. <br/><br/>now on to the food.....<br/><br/>The Caesar Salad was alright, nothing crazy. We ordered: Citrus Chicken, Chicken Alfredo, and the "special" of the night which was a blackened Sea Bass. Let's just say it was definitely "special". That fish should NEVER EVER have left the kitchen. It was so disgusting and tasted so bad I really couldn't believe that a Chef would allow something like that leave his kitchen. And of course, the waiter never once came by so we never even got a chance to tell him how terrible it was. That disgusting fish was $45. A shock when we received the bill. We had to finally get one of the busboys to get our check because the waiter was busy chatting with another customer to even notice we were done. <br/><br/>Adding insult to injury, when we left, the valet was not there and had disappeared. So I saw my keys on the table outside and grabbed them myself since my car was right in front of the restaurant (WHERE I LEFT IT! he never even moved it!) and as I was getting into my car he ran up to me and almost knocked me to my feet saying that I didnt tip him! If assault wasn't illegal I would have just punched him right then and there. I shut my door and drove away. Needless to say, I will never ever ever ever go back to this place. <br/><br/>So...<br/><br/>Cons? EVERYTHING<br/><br/>Pros? The DIet Coke was fantastic. It cut the awful taste of everything. The one thing that wasn't created in the restaurant.

What a pleasure to have such a nice restaurant in the neighborhood offering both in and outdoor dining. After enjoying several meals including brunch this past weekend, I felt compelled to post a comment - the food is ALWAYS excellent. Best chicken soup, salads, brunch selections, and flakiest Spanakopita. The eclectic mix of patrons provide a more upscale Manhattan feel, with consistently excellent food and reasonable prices. A real gem for Northeastern Queens.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!. Recently went to Veranda for the second time, and my experience was as good as before. My waiter was polite and very attentive. We ordered the zucchini chips as an appetizer, they were AMAZING! I could not stop eating them, they were the perfect beginning! I had the Seafood Orzo which was exceptional and even though it was a pasta dish it was very light! My boyfriend ordered the Tuna Special, which he could not stop raving about; he said it was cooked to perfection! I would definitely recommend this place, not only is the food and service GREAT but the atmosphere is wonderful....perfect for a summer night !!

Bad Service-Overpriced. We went there for dinner last night. My friend ordered the filet mignon...the menu said it came with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus.....It came with 2....you heard me....2 skinny little asparagus....when we asked the maitre d he said "it's only a garnish" he actually had the answer all ready! Obviously he knew it was chinsey.. Well it should have said an Asparagus Garnish on the menu....so she asked for a side order....they brought out 6 more skinny little asparagus and had the nerve to charge $6 - the waiter never came back to check with us to see if everything was ok....I would never go back....if the maitre was smart...he would have apologized and given her the asparagus....bad business....that's not the way you get people to come back.

Never got my order!..or an apology. My husband and I read various reviews and decided to go with two other family members. The atmosphere was very nice. We ordered our appetizers and entrees. We were asked if we wanted the appetizers to come with our dinner which I thought was odd. It took a long time for the appetizers to come, they were just ok. Then the dinner came, everyone got their food but me, the waiter said 'enjoy everyone!' I thought maybe mine was on its way. The waiter came back to ask if anyone wanted fresh pepper so I asked 'where is my order?' He proceeded to tell me he didnt have an order for me!! Then he just walked away to check his order, never apologized, nor did a manager come over to apologize. I didnt even see anyone in charge to address this with. My sister ended up sharing her entree with me, which was mediocre and near room temperature. <br/>Overall the staff are in desperate need of training, and the prices are way too high for the quality of food you receive. We will never return to Veranda!

Bad food, good service. High priced, bad taste, small portions. This place is not worth it. I paid $102 for a bottle of water, small and taste less salmon, 3 small lamb ribs, 2 asparagus and one potato. Very disappointed!

WTF. My father took a restraining order out on me after taking my family there... he was convinced I was trying to kill them. Upon arrival we thought oh man this is a homerun. We sat outside next to the waterfall and that was the best part of the evening. We were 8 and 7 of us HATED our dinner. 2 got the penne rosa which came out ice cold and looked like it had been fished out of a dumpster, the mixed green salad was so tart and sour, my grilled chicken was charred and dry. My cousin had to send her burger back, she asked for it well done and it came out mooing. My boyfriend's chicken was covered in cheese and it was STILL awful. And not just the food, my pomegranate mojito tasted like dishwater. I never write reviews on restaurants but I felt with this place that it was my obligation. I also never don't give restaurants second chances... I'm running for hills from this place

ITS OK. The only thing I can say about veranda restaurant is that the first time i got there I had had a bad impression. Although the place is nice the food is nothing special and way over priced and took a while to come. I couldve just went to manhattan for overpriced food.

You must visit!. I just want to say thank you for all the helpful reviews. I went to Veranda Cafe last Saturday for brunch with a close friend and we had a wonferdul, relaxing time. The ambiance, service, and food are exceptional! I'm so happy to find such a lovely spot in Queens.<br/><br/>(I highly recommend the vanilla french toast, yummy!)<br/><br/>I'm looking forward to going back for lunch and/or dinner with my husband.

Best kept secret. Veranda Restauran & Cafe, is the best kept secret in the North Shore. The food is first quality, preparation is on the same level as a four star restaurant, the service is professional, attentive and friendly and the prices are modest. Felipe (Waiter) is extraordinary and always eager to please, Nick the Manager is always on top of things. Veranda Restaurant & Cafe is the best thing that can happen to Bayside and surrounding areas.

Great time. I had dinner here with my wife the other night at about 7PM. We sat outside at a table for four, The staff was very friendly but overworked. Our appetizers were the feta stuffed fried olives which were great and the merguez sausage, also great. We had the swordfish entree and octopus salad which were both perfect. We would go back again especially while the weather is still nice.

"BAYSIDES BEST". Finally a restaurant in Bayside that offers everything! Delicious food, attentive service and a beautiful atmosphere. Veranda came highly recommended by friends, and we were not disappointed. I'm so happy we have a great place to go and enjoy fine dining.

Very Memorable. We had our dress rehearsal at Veranda Restaurant and could not express how great our experience was. They had everything customized including a special menu which had our names printed on it. This restaurant is amazing! I've been to this restaurant several times now and all I have is possitive feedback. The service, ambiance and hospitality is way better than I expected. They have a nice cafe with a waterfall and a pretty good selection of wine. I am a waiter in a fine dining restaurant and I have high expectations. This restaurant has measured up to my expections. Veranda. I met a friend for a quick dinner...I arrived early and sat at the bar....felt extremely comfortable siting alone....actually I was not alone for long...what a nice welcome by the staff and the owner....the food is excellent...the service is quick and most of all the desserts....yummy!!!! wonderful atmosphere...cannot wait for the patio to open.....will certainly be back soon....

OUTSTANDING!. My husband and I decided to try this new place for dinner with a group of friends and I was over-impressed! The place looked gorgeous, so unlike any other restaurant in the area and the food was by far, one of the best meals we had (and that includes meals we have enjoyed worldwide)! It had an elegant atmosphere but casual and cozy and the service cant be beat, we were treated like family.... You could tell they wanted their guests to be satisfied and they certainly delivered. We ordered yummy drinks and got appetizers for the table, so we sampled many, and you could have had a meal on just that! The octopus was incredible and the fonue, spinach pie, calamari, and dip platter were delicious as well. I had the Bronzini and sweet potatoe fries and my husband had the gulf shrimp with spinach risotto - I was in heaven. FINALLY a place where you can get outstanding Mediterranean food without traveling to the city! Not to mention the prices were totally reasonable - and free valet too! My only regret was I didnt have enough room to sample more food - but I am certainly going back to try! BTW, I saw they have a large outdoor patio, I can hardly wait!!!!!

Amazing Food-fair price. I saw this place by accident, i was going for a quick byte at the diner and i saw veranda, i said a new place, clean i hope they have good food. They do!! i had the fried calamari with somekind of spicy green sauce.. prety good, and then a filet mignon that was very good. all this for thirty some $$ i was supriced for the quality

If ever given the choice, I'll always choose outdoor tables over indoor ones. Unless it's raining. Veranda in Bayside is awash in outdoor seating. Thus, it was a no-brainer for me and Bro to jump in the car and drive over. In the end, the space and the service were better than the food, but if I lived nearer-by, I could certainly see myself making Veranda a one of my good-weather go-to spots.
