Ate here for a late lunch this week and absolutely loved it. I ordered the fried chicken (breast and thigh) and it was cooked to perfection. Very crispy, juicy, and not too salty. I also ordered rice with gravy, beans, and corn.
The service here was really amazing. A few nice gentlemen helped me out when I walked in to pick up my food. Derrick also let me try a piece of their baked chicken which was seasoned very well!! I might order that next time.
I just moved to the area so I will definitely be back. The staff was so welcoming and friendly.
Great food! Ox tails are amazing. Beef tips were a little dry but had good flavor. Collard greens are very good, mac & cheese is perfect. The restaurant itself needs some work, old and dingy. Definitely recommend eating here but maybe get the food to go.

As a black woman this tastesjust like home!! Gosh I miss those oxtails!! Had to move to Washington State because my husband is military and theres no soul food restaurants in sight. Sigh. Cannot wait to come back down to the south I am from Louisiana but so far ive only had good soul food here! Cannot wait to go back to Louisiana too for that good ole fashion Creole/Cajun cookin. Black folks, this the real deal !
Every time we go, there’s the same friendly people, who are very good at remembering what we always order.
The food is delicious, best meatloaf and cornbread in town. My wife is hooked on the oxtails, can’t get enough.
Home style Soul Food at it's Finest! A-1, Rosie's!! Phenomenal. I had the Smothered Pork Chops, Candied Yams, and Okra 'n Tomatoes, With a slab of Dark Chocolate Cake. Only complaint? Cake WAS just a LIIIITTLE BIT dry. But everything, and everyone, else was STELLAR. Highly recommend to all and sundry. And ...that GRAVY?? Man! Haven't had the like in years a 'plenty...since my Gran died, I've not had such fine, down home good food. And the GRAVY!?...shhhh...!! Now! Don't say this loud, cuz she'll roll right over in that Casket...but (I do love n miss you SO, Gran! Oh man I do!!) But .... Rosie's is better than my Gran's was. Omg it was rich, smooth, and creamy without one HINT of lump, and no taste of too much CornStarch as a trick either!! PERFECTION IN ALL CATEGORIES. Only thing...Id sink a tad more capital into interiors and decor...but...if you're looking for good a**food and not worried about good a**table arranging and such...? Knocked it out tha' PARK Rosie's... Firing on all cylinders, y'all!! Superb.
Large servings of authentic soul food! Some favs were the Ox tails , turkey wings w/rice and gravy, candied yams and banana pudding. So Glad we found this place on our drive. They also had awesome customer service.
Im from Beaumont and this food is amazing, ALSO I moved to the Hill Country after Harvey. This is the best soul food I've ever had and can find anywhere on this side of the Louisiana Line. That's a tall order to fill, but real recognizes real.
Home cooked meals with an atmosphere to match. Don't expect the Ritz. Instead, think of your grandmother's kitchen and dining room. The food is down home comfort food with portions guaranteed to put you in a coma afterward. Get there early and score you some banana pudding because it goes fast.
Great customer service good environment I had the meatloaf with rice gravy candy yams and pinto beans it was amazing I will be going back
