Zen 16 is a quiet sushi restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere and tasty food. Service was nice and I enjoyed my vegetarian sushi and age tofu. Would love to come back again and try some of the other dishes.

This was my first time here. This food was amazing. The Maryland sushi was my favorite. Only one of the sushi’s was my least favorite(dark crisp ones). The Pad Thai was one of the best I’ve tasted. I will be coming back again to try something else.

Delicious sushi, surprised we were the only ones there at 1pm on a Saturday. Lady taking orders was very nice and respectful, but she did continue a personal phonecall during our whole time there (except when taking our order and checking with us) and the loud, enthusiastic nature of the call was a little jarring and distracting (thus the 4, rather than 5 star review). Kind of felt like having a meal in someone's house rather than a restaurant. Would still recommend for the delicious food and want to return to try some interesting food on the menu. I love this sushi Cafe. Jackie is so great. She knows us by name. She's so efficient and pleasant. The food is wonderful. We love the Spicy girl, Chesapeake, Bruce, spicy Tuna, and spicy shrimp rolls.

As you might know, My wife and I are fans of Koi Koi in Falls Church. We miss the delicious rolls up here. So for those times we're not in Northern Virginia, we recently tried out Zen 16 Sushi Cafe. I have to say they are a close second to Koi Koi. The rolls are not a spicy as Koi Koi, but they have some interesting combination going for them. The Earthquake roll has eel and cream cheese making for a delightful flavor combination and texture. They also carry some Thai and Chinese dishes for those with kids that refuse to partake in Sushi and Sashimi, as well as some interesting dessert choices (Tempura battered, deep fried Oreos; they pretty good).

Took my son here when husband was in the hospital and we needed a dinner break. My son loves Asian food and he said this was one of the best entrees he's had in our area! Service was good and dinner was quick. We highly recommend this restaurant. The Pad Thai was delicious!

This is a hidden gem, the owner is friendly and an extremely hard worker. My family loves getting sushi here and is always happy with the service and food. Ask for the avocado boat, it is very good. Just had a renovation and update inside.

Always great service. Menu choices different from the usual Asian restaurant and always 'done right'. A little expensive; however, worth the premium.

I've traveled all around the world for business and finding a good Sushi place has always been one of my top priorities when I am able to get away from everything. Obviously the best has always been in Either Japan or Korea and even a surprisingly good place is Sofia, Bulgaria. Zen16 ranks up there with one of the best I've been too. When my wife and I moved to this area back in 2016, we literally tried every single Sushi restaurant within an hour drive of our house and this topped the charts. Starting off with just their food, it's the attention to detail in the quality and plating that really makes this place so well. They take their time to ensure the rice is perfect before constructing the Sushi and they make sure it looks just as good on the plate as it does with taste. Their plating changes over time so it’s never just the same old thing, they seem to grow along with their customers. They do add new items to their menu from time to time and always seem to have a new type of roll they’re trying out, that makes the experience very unique. On to their staff, to put it simply, there are times where the wife and I haven’t gone there in over 6 months; however, the minute we walk in, we are greeted by name and shown to our table. To date… since 2016, myself, my wife, any everyone else we’ve suggested to go to this restaurant, no one has had an issue with it. Now I understand that there will be things that go wrong from time to time, we are all human, but I will be honest and say they will never lose my business when that does inevitably happen.

Get the onion pancake appetizer, it's amazing. They have a nice, affordable beer and sake menu too. Everything we've gotten here has been good. This is a clean, friendly place that reminds me of what sushi restaurants were like before sushi was so popular. Quiet, lots of light wood, pretty but not extravagant presentation. This place has quickly become a favorite.

Great sushi in large portions without breaking the absolute bank to make a nice platter for several to share. I wish they had more soups, but the staples are around like miso, shumai, udon, sea food, and wonton. They actually have red bean ice cream and mochi, which is surprisingly hard to find! And the drink list is reasonably stocked for both Japanese options and American staples. Tonight me and two other buddies went out to celebrate his birthday and he wanted great sushi. I was paying for it all and knew this place would deliver without being overly priced. SO HAPPY! We had great drinks and even got a cool table-sized ship to eat our delicious sushi off of. This is a diamond in the literal rough as you can't even see it amoung the other stores easily. Also, their lunch bentos are AMAZING!

The sushi arrived in a very timely fashion and was presented very nicely. Staff doesn't speak English very well but they know enough to take your order without issue. My only issue is that the interior of the restaurant has some weird design concepts (such as oddly placed steps) but they're incredibly minor.
