We had a party of four, all of our food was delicious and our server Chelsey was amazing. She was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu, she really put effort into giving us the best meal ever. I especially enjoyed my steak frites (drool!). And when I asked for small shooter of OJ for my cocktail (it was very strong, and I'm a wuss) she was like "I got ya girl!" Overall, stunning food, excellent service, will be returning time and time again.

Enjoyed a fantastic Mother's Day lunch. We started with the fried okra (big enough portion for 3/4), the hush puppies (crispy outside and creamy tender inside), and frog legs (I could have made a meal on those). Moved on to hearty portions of gumbo and jambalaya. Everything was spiced perfectly and delicious. Wish we'd saved room for beignets, I am told they are authentic. Overall, great experience. Definitely will be back next time we're in town.
The wait time was less than most breakfast spots in Bellingham. The servers were attentive. We had to wait patiently for our food but it was worth the wait. I enjoyed my delicious "Oscar"- tender crab was my first bite, scooped next with tasty steak and Cajun potatoes. The scrambled eggs and sautéed scallions and shallots created another level to the dish that was very balancing to the palette. I am ready to go back again now!
The food was ridiculously good. We found this place randomly just before sunset. What a gem! Highly recommend the Fried Chicken sandwich and their Mac n Cheese was really great. Will definately be back. Robocop served us :)
As a regular at Bayou I love this place. Food is spicy and filling so we always leave feeling a bit indulged. The Bayou Mule is a must! Staff are attentive and accommodating and cater to the way we love to eat - crammed into a booth family style eating off each other's plates. I always bring my grandchildren and they are routinely entertained with paper and crayons. Thank you for making this my favorite place to eat! (And I tip good too!)

I highly recommend it ! A great experience of New Orleans Louisiana cuisine without going to the south .
I had the jambalaya ! and a local ale beer . My wife had the BBQ pork Po boy sandwich . Excellent !
Showed up Sunday evening and was seated immediately. The staff was very friendly. Appetizer was gator and green onion dip w/ crostini. It was delicious. I ordered the shrimp etouffee with added gator, 4 star spicy and my lady had the bourbon chicken. The food was excellent. We will absolutely be going there again.
Great Manhattan and tasty gumbo! They have a really yummy breakfast menu too. The staff is super nice as well!!
Always a great place to eat! I live in he Yakima valley so any time I’m in the Bellingham area this is always a must stop for me.
Excellent food and service!
We ordered oyster shooters and a cup of their mac n' cheese for an app- both were amazing!! Then the blackened tuna with veggies with a buttermilk lime sauce. The tuna was cooked perfectly, and the seasoning was spot on. My only complaint (and that's even too strong of a word) was they served mashed potatoes with it. Just an odd combo- even though they were good.
We also ordered the prawn ettouffe. Wow! Bursting with classic creol flavor brightened and lightened with a nice amount of lime, and a slightly less dense roux. generous amount of prawns.
It has been a year or so since I've been to Bayou...they have stepped up their game and quality. I will be back!
Made reservations for 11 people on a friday night. They were so nice and accommodating. Got our drink orders fast and she kept on coming out from the bar to see if we needed refills. We all got our food at the same time and it was delicious! Love this place! Great birthday dinner!
Love the view! Local drinks. Ceasars salad w/avacado & shrimp; steak salad add shrimp...delicious!
Must experience restaurant. Funky great vibe and Cajun food. The frog legs were juicy and tender, simply delicious the oyster shooters were phenomenal. Popcorn shrimp and fried oysters hit the spot. Atmosphere, staff and vibe were a delight. Highly recommend!
Had dinner here and couldn't be happier. All the food was cooked great. The special pork chop was awesome. Hush puppies weren't burned or undercooked. All in all, I will definitely go again. Wait staff was on point, and the wait time for our food was very quick, but not so fast that we couldn't enjoy appetizers.
After striking out at three places down the street, because they either required proof of vaccination cards (which was news to us) or the outdoor seating was a 90+ minute wait, we (5 guys) stumbled across this place which sat us immediately outside. We were skeptical as they weren’t full, but man am I glad we ended up here. The waitress, while managing the outdoor area of 10+ tables all to herself was clearly busy, she made sure we always had drinks and we didn’t wait longer than normal to order. She had a great attitude and was friendly too! The food though…so. Dang. Good. The frog legs are a must try. Juicy, tender, and great spice. Some of the best frog legs I’ve had since Louisiana. I had the shrimp and grits. It was soupier than traditional, but I didn’t mind because the flavor was outstanding. Garlicky, spicy, cheesy, and so much depth. The shrimp was well cooked and everything worked so well together. Am so glad we ended up stumbling into this place and not the other over hyped places down the street. Big recommendation from me.
Delicious food and great service! I had the blackened rockfish with red beans and rice, and my partner has the jambalaya. This was my first time trying rockfish and it was delicious -- the seasoning was amazing and it was very well cooked. The red beans and rice were great, too, and the cornbread was so tasty!! My partner's jambalaya was great as well and had a very generous amount of shrimp in it!!
Celebrated my son's graduation here. He said it was good when he chose this place and they did not disappoint! The popcorn shrimp (my personal favorite) was superb! The restaurant overall provided a very chill and relaxing atmosphere! I enjoyed myself! That pull pork poboy was simply delicious!
The food was delicious. We made it to Bayou as it was transitioning from brunch to dinner on a saturday afternoon. It wasn't too busy and they are following covid-19 protocols, confirming vaccination status. Our table sampled the margaritas and pina coladas. Both were strong and yummy. We also ordered the happy hour oyster shooters, we customized ours with no cocktail sauce and requested extra lemons and salt. For the main course we ordered the jambalaya and gumbo with a side of macaroni and cheese. The macaroni and cheese was amazing, so many flavors just bursting in every bite. The jambalaya was just as delicious. I couldn't even put a dent in it. I had to take half of it home and it was still yummy. The atmosphere is light and casual. Only complaint would have to be that we had to flag down our server a few times, but other than that it was a very enjoyable experience. Will definitely come back for the food since we came from out of state.
The best place for brunch when you are looking to get all the foods you want to help you get over that headache from last night. Just all the condor you need in one little plate, with an added helping of wonderful service from the best people.
Also always get their cornbread and honey butter. And always get their mac. The stars of their menu, when everything on their menu is already such a star.
Tried frog legs for the first time ever followed by gumbo, one of my faves. Both were delish!! My date had the prawn etoufee, also a win. Would definitely eat here again if in the area... maybe next time we'll give alligator bites a try!
