Now THIS is solid Indian food. I've been here a few times and the employees have always been friendly. Now for the food, we had the meal for 2 and it seriously can feed 5. A lot of options too! The chicken tandoori was so good, specially the grilled onions that come with it. The naan was made fresh, just as all naans should. And of course, the butter chicken was very creamy and flavorful. Good experience and my go to Indian good place in town for sure!

Surprise, Surprise. Pretty Good Indian Food in Bellingham.

I’ve lost count of the number of Indian restaurants that have been at this address in the seven years I’ve lived in Bellingham, but there have been at least four of them. They have all been pretty dismal, although I did once get a decent meal at the immediate predecessor of Taste of India, a place called Indian Flavors. We dined at Taste of India the other day, and were pleasantly surprised. When we visit a new Indian restaurant, we like to order from a short list of dishes that we’ve had at many different Indian restaurants so we can make some meaningful comparisons. We started with two appetizers: Onion Bhaji and Vegetable Samosas. They were served with two sauces, a red chutney and a green sauce which we guessed was a mint/cilantro sauce (we asked, but the chef didn’t know the English name). Both the appetizers and sauces were very good. We had never had the onion dish before, but the samosas were as good or better than any we’ve had in Whatcom County. The main courses were Tandoori Chicken and Lamb Vindaloo, accompanied by Garlic Naan and Basmati Rice. The chicken was very tender, but not quite as flavorful as the very best renditions of this dish. The lamb dish, ordered “Indian Hot”, was indeed hot. My wife thought the sauce was a little bitter, but she was wrong. Ah... well, I mean she was right, of course. If you’ve been married for nearly 40 years you know how to deal with these issues. There was an adequate amount of lamb in the dish. A lot of these places really cheat on the lamb and put tons of potato in its place; however, the lamb could have been a bit more tender. The naan and rice were excellent. Overall, our first experience here was pretty good, and I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Only Sher-E-Panjab (in Anacortes) is obviously better, but that’s quite a drive from Bellingham.

The prices are more than reasonable. Our bill for the whole meal was only $38 before tip. It would have been higher, but they don’t have their liquor license yet so we were deprived of our usual Indian beers. One last word of caution: Don’t take this review as being relevant to the lunchtime buffet. Every Indian buffet we’ve been to in Bellingham has been abysmal. Hopefully, that will not be the case here, but only time will tell.

I honestly have mixed feelings about my experience with this restaurant. It has a great atmosphere and the wonderful smell of Indian spices are in the air when you walk in. Staff seemed friendly and prices are fair. The portion size is just ok. I would not recommend the lamb curry. The sauce was very runny and was not like any lamb curry I've ever had at any Indian restaurant. The lamb Korma was really delicious though.

This place is AMAZING! It’s the best, most superb Indian food in this city, out of all of the Indian places I’ve tried, and my Dad has taken me to Indian places since I was around 9 years old. Mike and Kamal and the whole staff are the nicest, most approachable people that work in this type of setting. This comfortable and inspirational setting is unique, complete with music and Indian-based movies. I never want to leave! I am forever coming here, and I will be sad if I ever move. It’s also right near Ross, Marshalls’s, and the Dollar Tree. Thank you for all that you do! This is my most important review to date!

My boyfriend and I went here today for lunch and LOVED it. I ordered the butter chicken, and he got the fish biryani with cod and both were very delicious! The prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes seem small but once you start eating they are very filling. The staff was very kind, and someone from the back (maybe the owner?) even came out to check on us and gave us some free dessert! The mango juice is amazing as well. I cannot recommend this place enough, you will not be disappointed if you go here for some food!

WOW! So I'm really weird about trying new places, but this place was the BEST experience I've ever had. The staff/owner was genuinely super friendly, kind, and generous. I felt like royalty! The restaurant was clean and OH MY WORD. Their coconut chai tea and buttered chicken were so good I couldn't believe it was real. Thanks to this place, I love Indian food and will be going back every chance I get. The prices were good too! Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic all around. If you're thinking about giving them a shot, do it! No pictures because I was way too busy stuffing my face to take any photos.

Loved eating here during our visit to Bellingham. They don't have Dine in services, but you can order the food and walk across the street to the tables right next door. The food itself was mild and we'll prepared. We ordered biriyani and some paneer /Malai kofta curries.

The quickest restaurant where they gave us our food! I was expecting a long wait time like other restaurants and I was surprised with how efficient they were. There wasn’t a lot of people so it seems like you can always come in without a reservation. The workers are kind, are clear, come check if everything is going okay and will re-fill your water without you needing to ask.

Absolutely the best experience for dinner here. Fantastic food, kind and attentive staff, and the owner came out with an unexpected appetizer dish on the house. All of the flavors are delicious, and the naan is just right! This is my favorite Indian food restaurant in town.
