First and last time here, horrible food and non-existing service.
1. Ordered Eggs benedict and got hard boiled eggs on bland bread.
2. Ordered French toast, got really thin slice of bland tasting fried bread.
3. Ordered coffee, was increadibly watered down. There's no refill so you have to pay full price for another cup of discolored water.
4. We were a group of 6 and we got 2 napkins. I had to chase down someone to get a few more for the table. No one came to check in on us for the entire time we stayed.
5. Overall, food was below average, you would think that they would care to put some effort in for the prices they charge.
Way over priced, stay away.

I guess it recently changed ownership (within the past couple of weeks). It seems to have fallen off, if I'm being honest. The last time I was there (about a year ago), it was great, so I recommended it as a place to meet for some friends. The outdoor seating is great, but the food and the service seemed "rough". I hope they iron out all the kinks and get back on track because it really is a nice place to eat outside.

Very pleasant. Food is good. Staff is friendly. However, I don't like the online ordering. The app is not really user friendly, confusing and time consuming / takes time away from friends. I don't want an IT project, just lunch please. I wish they brought back regular ordering. Other than that everything is great.

Great outdoor space! Food is really good and portions are quite large. Everything was delicious and we even took some food home as we did not realize the size of the portions! Staff is very nice! Don't miss it if you are on the neighborhood!

Favorite place to eat in Belmont - it’s a cozy and beautiful setting whether you’re indoor or outdoor, the food is great, and the service is blazing fast no matter how busy it is!

The Waterdog Tavern has been the favorite hangout of mountain bikers riding the nearby Waterdog park for years. The venue has much to offer including outdoor seating arranged around a delightfully landscaped garden. The indoor space features modern wood tones and large, bright windows that overlook the garden.
The management is unfortunately a sore point. Parents going there with young kids can expect a lecture for any interference with the landscaping, corporate groups will be required to stick to their assigned corner and promptly disappear at the end of their reserved time
This has been enough to dissuade me from returning to the be Waterdog Tavern.

Latest ownership has made the place go downhill. Given them some time to sort out the bugs but can’t hold off. Our pick up order was an hour late. No compensation. Food quality has changed to be cheaper. One obvious change is the fries. Used to be a go to. Now - worse than fast food. Only thing keeping from 1 star is the outside seating.

Seemed like a nice atmosphere. Wasn't too thrilled that I had to submit my order on my phone. There was no personable service at all. I couldn't ask any questions or get more water because the only thing the employee did was drop off food. However they do ask for a minimum of a 15% tip on the QR order app.
The Brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly & very tasty.
The meatloaf had too much of chorizo in it. I was hoping for a more traditional meal I guess.

Belmont is so fortunate to welcome this new, beautiful restaurant to town. The interior decor is enough to draw you in, modern, inviting, with a touch of rustic elegance. I especially like the variety of seating areas, from intimate tables, to bar height seating, banquettes, communal tables, couches, and a cozy & hip little lounge, you have your choice of places to settle in and enjoy the fire or the beautiful view out the many large windows that line the exterior walls. The bar is roomy and has both bar height and table height seating. There are something like 24 beer taps featuring yummy suds from far and near, as well as great cocktails. I can't comment on the wine, since I don't drink it, but I'm sure, like everything else, its lovingly & expertly selected. Ahh.. then there is the food! Lots of dishes to try. The corn bread, the Charcuterie plate with home made mustard, smoked salmon, pickled veggies, salami and other delicacies, and the deviled eggs are all great starters. I had the pork chop with the curried cauliflower side, which was fantastic. Also had bites of the salmon, ribs, and fried chicken. All were great, but the salmon was especially well prepared. I think I'll be ordering that on my next visit. Can't wait for the outdoor beer garden to open as well. What a gift to the community! This will be the go-to gathering place for years to come.

I really wish I could give more stars, because I was really hoping for another place to hang out in Belmont. This was my third time there, The service was better, but the veggie burger was still mushy, no happy hour food, and the wine is over priced in my opinion. Happy hour wines were nine dollars a glass. I don't think there's much they can do about how noisy it was either. Well, here's to hoping for improvements, like A reasonably priced happy hour with happy hour food.

Just what Belmont needed! A fun new gathering place with good food, drink and ambiance. A great place to hang out with grownup friends, but we can't wait to bring our kids here for burgers! Fantastic beer and wine choices and a creative menu. Can't wait until the outdoor garden area comes to life!

My friend and I arrived at 6pm on Friday and we were told we wouldn't be seated until 8:45 yet there were many tables that were empty. Of course we figured out they didn't have enough servers to cover those tables.
It then to us moving 3 times along the bar area to even order a drink. Once we were "known" at the bar it took a little less time to get a drink/beer.
Overall a great place and once the kinks are ironed out we finally have a great place to hangout with friends and family! Give me a pat on the back and have patience and all will be good!

I thought the food was great!!! However, a couple of dishes came out cold and two orders were messed up! We ended up with two comped meals, a free bottle of wine and a comped dessert. It was super loud inside which is kind of a bummer. I felt we had to shout to hear one another! Definitely ironing out some kinks. Our server was good but not great!! I will be back for sure to try again! Perhaps earlier in the evening when it's not so packed and loud. Oh, portion size is great too!!!

This was my 4th visit. For the first time, I had issues. I ordered a cup of soup and received a bowl. Sadly the soup was cold. The server dealt with both problems and we tipped accordingly. Great atmosphere. One day I will try to enjoy their garden space.

Dress up or dress down - it’s all good! Great decor, comfortable ambiance love the fireplace feature and artsy touches. The happy hour pork bun appetizer was a special kind of spicy with the habanero jelly and the brussel sprouts roasted crispy perfection - will totally be having those again! This is the BEST Gastro Pub hangout spot on the Peinisula HANDS DOWN. Excellent ambiance, coupled with phenomenal food choices makes this one of my favorite go to destinations outside of San Francisco. My last visit I showed up an hour and 15 minutes before closing on a Saturday night, With six foreigners from both Scotland & Canada. We got a great table and had an exquisite meal. The beer garden below is peaceful and a great spot to chill and have a drink. Can even bring the dog..

Although we enjoy the brussel sprouts and having a glass of wine at the bar, the food gets worse every time:( Very inconsistent! The salmon and Thai noodle salad were early on favorites, but are now bland and completely different. Over priced, very mediocre food and drinks. Nice atmosphere in and out, otherwise very disappointing fare.

I've been here three times so far. Every visit has been better than the previous one. Love the interior which is inviting and warm. Yes, it's noisy, but vibrant and full of people I know every time I've been. This is truly the kind of place we've been missing in Belmont, and I'm thrilled Toby and Anne decided to open Waterdog Tavern. Good selection of appetizers, main courses and delicious desserts. Great beer selections I'm being told by the beer lovers I know. The cocktails I've tried so far, in my opinion, not great, but maybe I just haven't tasted the right ones yet ;) Great place for families, friends' gatherings, and girls' nights out!

I already loved this place before I knew if the food was any good. The ambiance and decor is so beautiful and you feel like you're outside with the big windows and open floor plan. Then my drink came. Delicious. Then our food came. DELICIOUS! The roasted brussel sprouts are unbelievably good. So glad to have this great place in our community! Can't wait for the beer garden to open! �
