Great atmosphere. Really good service. Cute outdoor seating area! The avocado tacos were very good. Onion rings were super delicious, fluffy not greasy. The Mac and cheese was not very good and my husband was not impressed with the chicken fried steak. But over all, a nice family atmosphere with plenty to choose from on the menu.

Great building in a great location. The Gin is in a 1927 Co-op gin that has been extremely well taken care of and is a great building for a restaurant setting. Service was good, food was okay. They have a great specialty drink menu and the Maple Old Fashioned is highly recommended. On a nice day, would recommend sitting on one of the decks overlooking Nolan Creek.

We enjoy the food at the Gin each time we go. My favorite is the fried catfish, and the regular portion is always more than enough for me to eat. They do offer all you can eat catfish on Tuesdays as well if you have a bigger appetite. Their tartar sauce tastes homemade and pairs great with the catfish.

I give this place two enthusiastic thumbs up. I happened across The Gin as I was passing through Belton and stopped at the town square to admire the courthouse building. The Gin was one block off the square and looked interesting. I am very glad I made the stop. The Chicken Fried Steak was excellent, the garlic mashed potatoes were as well. But the seasoned green beans were stand-out fantastic. I highly recommend The Gin when you get the hankerin’ for some down-home southern comfort food.

Beautiful location unfortunately they were out of several items and food took awhile l (Appitizers were fast). Mac N Cheese was bland, drinks took a long time. Fried Avocado was delicious. I'd give it 1 more shot for dinner but 1st go was so so.

Stopped by for lunch on a Saturday and had a brief wait for a table inside. They also offer outdoor seating on a deck overlooking the creek, if you want al fresco. They offer a wide variety of salads, appetizers and sandwiches. We enjoyed the appetizer they call cotton balls... A zesty mix of chicken breast, bacon, cream cheese and jalapeno. My companions enjoyed their chicken salad sandwich as well as a chicken salad. The food was good if not exceptional, and service was attentive. The pleasant interior is what had been the cotton gin on the creek. There are adult beverages available. The deck on a pleasant day would be a lovely setting overlooking the creek. Overall I enjoyed my visit, the food is is good and prices are reasonable but not cheap.

Loved the atmosphere and the views of the creek. Menu has great options from burgers, fish tacos to BBQ. We did have to wait a bit before our server came and there was only one other table in the restaurant with guests. Once our server Collin came he was fantastic! Very attentive, shared suggestions about the menu and we never had to ask for our drinks to be refilled. The food was very good. Fries were perfectly seasoned. If my quesadilla burger had been warmer it would have been perfect. My mom's fried fish was delicious! There's a area where you can play corn hole just outside and from the bathroom you can smell the smoker. They have a large outer patio for dining as well which would be great in the evening when not so hot outside. Love the historic information and area.

Good location, just in front of a park area. You can take a walk before and after good meal that they serve here. Indoor and outdoor sitting available with some nice high chairs at the bar. Food was awesome. Good and quick service. Had a lovely time, could talk normally and enjoy a good conversation without shouting over other tables, and with a nice glass of Jin cocktail.
