I have been to Positano Ristorante Italiano twice, once on June 9th for my anniversary and on December 23rd for my birthday. On both occasions I had a great time,they have great food and the staff are all very professional and welcoming. Recently,when I went there I asked to sit outside and they did not have outdoor seating available at that time because it was raining all day. However, Feraydon arranged a nice table outside for us. The owner came outside and told us that they have never had anyone sit outside in late December and he gave us a jar of jam made from the grapes which they harvest in September. I really appreciate the effort that they made to make my birthday a memorable night.
The food is good. The people are top notch and Jimmy is a great joy to work with. Thank you to everyone at Positano for many great nights there.
About two months ago, I worked with Jimmy to make arrangements for my 60th birthday party in the Napoli room. Jimmy reserved the date for us and it has been so wonderful working with him. The staff that was helping us during the party could not have been better. A very special "thank you" to Fernando, Karla, Sandra and Falcio. The food was sublime and I received compliments from my guests all evening. Everything was perfect...the decor, the food, the service. Thank you, Positano's, for a glorious celebration.

Jimmy, the owner and his staff are so accommodating. They make you truly feel like you're home. And the food fabulous. A romantic dinner or a banquet for 200, they know how to deliver yummy meals every time. Between the great food and lovely decor you feel as if you've been transported to the beautiful hometown of the owner, Positano Italy!

I planned a private event which was hosted at Positanos last weekend. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff were friendly and easy to work with, and the food was delicious! The place is a great spot for a romantic date, but it is also a surprisingly flexible party space with room for a lot more people than you think.
Food was very good. So was the beer and wine. We'll be back.

The best Italian in my area. I recently took my family out for dinner here. We had a good time and excellent service from the staff. It was family-owned and everyone was polite in there. And it had authentic Italian scenery both inside and outside. You could tell everything was made in house, from the bread to the sauce. The special fish of the day always hits the spot!

Excellent value for your dollar. This place is a land mark in Bethesda. It has reliability good food at an excellent price. I live nearby and have been back a few times. The past was excellent and the meat was a good portion. The calamari was good, and the vegetables were good as well. Nothing was bad, but it didn't blow my socks off either. Very good service and quick seating and excellent value. I'll be back.
Great place to come to. Beautiful atmosphere. Friendly staff. Had spaghetti and meatball, fettuccine Alfredo. Home made mozzarella cheese with tomato n oil. Dessert. Home made lemon tart cream cake. Very good. Also crime brûlée. Great. Gonna come back for sure even tho there are many good Italian restaurants within walking distance!
Was here on Tuesday night with a group of 7 people. We all enjoyed our main courses & wine. Rather big portion, which is not a problem for me personally 😁 it's only that we then couldn't finish our desserts. I love the ambience, the friendly staff, not-long wait & of course the food.
The meal was amazing. Loved the penne all'arrabiatta the spicy marinara had just enough kick without over powering the dish. I added the meatballs which really took the dish over the top, they were homemade and so good! Our waiter, Jaime, was a treat as well. Great dinner!
Our retirement party at Positano's was a huge success! The servers were so very kind and sweet, the "Old Positano" room was the ideal size for a party of 50, there was a perfect set-up for a DJ, and everyone loved the appetizers and food. This is our 3rd party at Positano's. Thank you Jimmy and your staff for helping us create a memorable event.
This is some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Whenever I’m in downtown Bethesda, I make it my first priority to stop by for a warm and comforting meal. I HIGHLY recommend the Chicken Milanese with fried calamari as a go-to appetizer. I’ve taken family, friends, and co-workers and all have only thanked me for introducing them to this place. The owners are so welcoming and waitstaff are so helpful and kind that it’s the kind of place that makes you feel right at home.
Great place to go to if you’re looking for quality Italian food in Montgomery County. I came here as part of a private event where we brought a projector to screen a short film we had created. The servers were helpful and accommodating, the food was great, and as a bonus, the ambiance makes for a cozy meal.
We just had a mini rehearsal wedding dinner at Positano on Saturday night.
The food was fabulous. We sat socially distanced inside and felt very safe. They also have terrific outside seating.
Service was great and they made us feel special. Best Italian Restaurant I've been to in the area. We're certainly going back.
Amazing ambiance! Loved the romantic, cozy atmosphere in the party room. The singer/musician was wonderful! It is my third time here and can't wait to come back. Last time I came it was with my mother in law who is very knowledgeable of gourmet food... especially authentic Italian, & she enjoyed it. I really wanted to come here to have a romantic dinner to celebrate Valentine's & it was perfect! I find the price reasonable considering the excellent service and warm atmosphere.
I went here for my little brother’s birthday party and had a magnificent dinner with good friends. The atmosphere was identical to those of restaurants I visited in Italy this past summer. The service was excellent and the menu was a array of food that could satisfy any hunger while hitting your taste buds with the most pleasant of flavors. I recommend it to anyone who’s going for a party, date, or business meeting. This place will get your dinner right. Grazie!
So I went to Positano this past holiday season for my cousin’s birthday and I was blown away. I had the manicotti with chicken Milanese and the cheesy pasta practically melted in my mouth, and the breaded chicken was prepared just right, and wasn’t burnt at all. Service was also very welcoming too. The atmosphere reminded me of a family owned restaurant back in Italy when I visited last year, I’ll definitely be going back once I’m back in town!
I love coming here. Everytime I've come I've been welcome with warm greetings and a smile. I have never left here unsatisfied either and I've come here fairly often in the past. I love the lasagna, pasta is always made fresh and the cakes are to die for. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a family style meal look no further.
I came here with my boyfriend for our date night. It was a dreamy experience. I ordered the lasagna. It was the best lasagna I’ve ever had in this area. To top it off there was a musician there that sat next to us and sang and played his guitar for us. Loved everything about this place!
The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. The best Italian food in the DMV area by far. I ordered the soup of the day and it cleared my headache, as well as the garlic bread, it was made so fresh and definitely one of my favorite items on the menu. I’m looking forward to my next visit, I’ll definitely have to come back and i highly recommend if anyone’s looking for authentic Italian food, Positano Ristorante is the spot.
Great Italian food if you get the right dish. Their homemade pasta is incredible. The garlic bread was alright, and their wine selection was pretty good. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and there's a guy that plays guitar softly to add to the mood.
