Enjoyed a delicious lunch with a friend. Her mussels in white wine sauce came with a stand of some very hot and lightly crispy fries. My bowl of bouillabaisse featured melt-in-your-mouth scallop, a shrimp, 8 mussels and 2 types of finny fish in a tomato-based broth filled with chopped veggies and lightly-cooked spinach. We used the provided spoons to catch and drink as much of the broth base as we could. For dessert we split an order of profiteroles, aka cream puffs filled with a high-fat vanilla ice cream and topped with either a caramel or a dark chocolate sauce.

We had a really good experience at Persimmon. The service was excellent and everyone was friendly. The food was delicious. We got the empanadas which were full of flavor. The mussels were super tasty with the wine garlic broth. For our mains I got the halibut special which came with a delicious risotto. My husband got the daily catch and that was super tasty. Overall I’d definitely go back. Atmosphere was lively and cute.

Had a nice client lunch here this week. The service and food were top notch. Our server was fantastic, and the owner stopped by several times to make sure everything was amazing and to our liking. I had a wedge salad with chicken, others at the table tried the grilled chicken sandwich, and the beet salad with chicken. Timing was good for lunch time, we were still in and out within an hour. I would definitely come back if I was in the area again.

One of the best restaurants on my trip. The flavors were well executed and perfectly portioned. The crab cake was really good. You could feel the chunks of crab opposed to a crab patty.

Found Persimmon on Maps because our go-to Bethesda restaurant is closed on Monday. What a surprise. They were packed and booked when we walked in off the street, but after a few minutes they found our party of 5 a table. Our food was delicious. One of the best branzino fillets ever, excellent tuna and salmon. We shared trout taco and ravioli starters - excellent. Apple crisp dessert also great. Waiters and manager very attentive. We have a new Bethesda go-to now.

I love the fact that the owner touched every table. That is a lost art that goes a long way. This is a tiny hidden gem in the city.

Persimmon is a really nice restaurant with really good food. Will any of the combinations surprise or wow you? Probably not. But, everything is prepared really well and everything tastes good. The portobello and blue cheese ravioli are delicious (could have had another portion). The duck is cooked perfectly and is very tasty. The crab cakes are very good and the sauce is just scrumptious. The molten chocolate cake and the apple crisp are both solid desserts. A lovely glass of Barbera and a strong but tasty cocktail accompanied our meals well. Service was quick and friendly. Outdoor seating is available and it was fun to people watch, though Wisconsin Ave. is by no means picturesque. There is a public parking lot nearby.

The guy that works here is the epitome of service. Super attentive and remembered my friend’s order from months ago. So friendly and made a great connection even when they were super busy. Also, the short ribs were ridiculously amazing.
