I was having a bit of a hard day and figured some good ramen would cheer me up, they were so kind and the spicy miso is absolutely delicious! I didn't have time to take a picture before digging in, will be my go-to now :) I'll try some sushi next time!
EDIT: I ended up going back the next day, had time to snag a photo this time
Good Japanese restaurant!!! Japanese living in DC gather frequently, so this is admitted good authentic Japanese restaurant by Japanese people!!! You can enjoy sushi, Japanese style bbq and small plates called “otsumami”. You can enjoy with saki so much!!! Especially you can enjoy sushi with incredible cheap price!!! There are sushi counter and kotatsi seats besides regular tables. Very good restaurant. Of course you can choose good saki from alcohol menu. When I visited, many Japanese groups was enjoying their party!!!!! So I will go again for sure!!!!!
This by far the best value for Japanese food in Bethesda. The Tonsokatsu Ramen was good, not packaged and it had real spicy pork in it. The $1 sushi was of high quality. This is not a fancy place. But I kinda like the vibe. It has happy hour prices for regular dinner service.
Very nice quality for the price. Pretty legit! Just wish we could dine in because the timing for pickup makes the food not that good as fresh cooked.
I love grilling here so much. It is yummy and cute place. Japanese style. Recommended!!!
If just getting sushi it is decently priced. Has very good food though. Spice ramen was not as spicy as it looks.
Definitely an underrated spot. Good sushi at decent prices. What people usually don’t realize about this place is that the back room has “in-table grills” like at a Korean barbecue place (but serve much higher quality meats). Probably my most frequented Japanese spot in Bethesda proper.
This reside is long overdue. My client ordered sushi from here for me one day and I kid you not I eat here almost everyday sometimes. I order from Uber Eats it’s always really quick and I can appreciate that as a busy hair dresser. The food is always consistent. I love the sushi. It’s good quality and not overpriced and the ramen is some of the best ramen in the area. When you make notes they actually pay attention to make sure they prepare it the way you ask. 10/10.
Probably the best Japanese food in this area. Nice staff, service fast and reasonable prices! 🥗🍙🍚🍣
Better than expected, both food and price
They have great sushi for $1 per piece! Can't beat that. I had a good experience here.
For the price of the special rolls and nigiri, this place cannot be beat. The staff is also extremely nice. I eat a lot of sushi all around the East coast as it is my favorite food. At Satsuma, I order a wide variety of fresh fish and real grated wasabi. They also offer belly cuts of sake, hamachi, and toro which many other places do not have.
They have the best sashimi I ever had in my life. The quality of the fish, and food in general is just incredible! The prices are very affordable. If you are not in the mood for sushi, you can have Korean barbecue, in Japanese style, with all types of high quality meat and veggies. Perfect for a date or a night out with your family and friends.
Great place for the value! If your looking for affordable sushi to fix your craving this is the spot. Mid grade sushi/nigiri that can be ordered in large quantities that won’t break the bank (compared to nearby restaurants). Also have other menu items that are good too; chk karaage, unagi don and kaki fry (we prefer to get our ramen from a different place). Only takeout and the staff is great too!
Usual Order:
Lg quantity of Salmon Belly Nigiri
Alaskan Roll
Chk Karaage
Unagi Don
Absolutely amazing for the price ($1 sushi is epic) and all around very good. I wish I had a place this good at something like this price point in Manhattan.
Edit 1/29/2022: Still one of the best restaurants in Bethesda. Call ahead, order, eat delicious sushi, be happy
Please visit this amazing place!
Edit 6/21/2022: Still great!
Ahh! The culinary delight that pleases both the eye and the palate. Tucked away on the corner of Delray Ave and Norfolk st. It is my only Japanese place to dine. The service is excellent, the soup and sushi to die for! The pork falls apart with chopsticks. Although it is only carry out the ambiance brings a release of tension as no therapy will. God bless this tiny little part of the Islands of Japan. May their rising sun never set as long as I breathe .
Dollar nigiri sushi was great, and really good ramen. (Actual soup not the packet kind!)
