Shanghai Village - Bethesda - Photo album

Delicious food. The duck is my favorite, noodles, eggplant and ribs also DELICIOUS. I’ve been here twice and the service and food are excellent. It’s also my mother in law favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Highly recommended!!!
Food is your typical Chinese menu and well executed. Wait staff is normally efficient but not warm and friendly. Updating in October 2018. They will close in December. Some of the waiters have left for other work, so do not go unless you have time and can be patient with limited service. Food is
Amazing food! My grandfather was their first customer when it was China Village up the street. Our family has gone there ever since I could remember (about 1988) because it's that good. Not only is the food spectacular Chinese food, but the owner and all the staff is very personable. They take time
Okey food. The chef took a nap while I was ordering more food
I've been doing plumbing work there for years but never ate there WOW! What was i thinking. I brought my wife and my mother and we all agreed that this is our new resturant. This place captures the perfect balance of ingredients with all fresh food to delight every part of my appetite.
Hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant. Kung Pao chicken is my top pick but everything here is good. The chef/owner is a kind man who will carve the Peking duck at the table and is always up for a chat.
My family has been going to this restaurant since the mid-80's when it was China Village in the old location. It is now the standard by which all other Chinese food is judged (when we aren't in Bethesda bc we would never go any place else if given the choice)! The owners are friendly and food is al
The best spot for Chinese in Bethesda. This is a hidden gem. The last of "old Bethesda." Great food and service. Everything just perfect. The drinks are straight out of the 70s - flaming bowls of rum, cool tiki glasses. You have to experiment.
Food is great. Bring cash, though, the servers can be quite rude about splitting checks. (I know it's not ideal, but raising your voice to polite customers in a crowded restaurant is pretty unacceptable.)
Anything you choose on the menu will be amazing. You really can't go wrong here. Hands down best Chinese in the area. I have been a loyal patron to Shanghai Village since it was China Village well over a decade ago. Kwok always has the freshest ingredients and prides himself on this. I grew up
Chef Kwok Cheung is well-known among local Washingtonians and many regulars frequent Shanghai Village just to have him prepare and carve a duck at table for them. Most people who dislike duck because it can be fatty need not fear, Kwok, unlike many Chinese restaurateurs, cleans the fat from the skin
Food for us was very VERY tasty (the beef Chow Foon and Wanton soup were both delicious). Our table neighbor ordered Peking duck...it made our mouths water!
Don't go to find waitstaff who will Fawn and blow sunshine... Go for the Excellent Food and award winning MaiTai. Try Orange Beef,. Kungpao chix, salmon... Fried Dumplins are The Bomb 😎
good food and good prices - but small portions and the service staff is VERY GRUMP. While generally a very good place, I'm always wondering why they are also so GRUMPY. Only the hostess has a smile.
Great food. Wait staff was both efficient and super friendly. Truly authentic food at a reasonable price
I love this place... They are always so pleasant and happy whenever we walk in.... the lady behind the register is always smiling- beaming from ear to ear. This place is home :)
Nice authentic Chinese food. The dumplings are really good! Prices are reasonable.
