Good food the appetizers can be done better. The server was good and did serve late as well. Do try their mains great options and flavor. The spicy sauce is done well.

Have had take out from here a few times now. Each instance has seen minor differences in seasoning (ordering the same items). Overall good value value and choice for Chinese food in the area. Phone order is easy and pick up is without issue. Parking out front is competitive and busy street. Recommend for take out, have not dined in yet.

Quite possibly the best tasting Chinese food I have ever had! The General chicken was perfectly crispy and the dumplings was delicious!

Needed to find a new & good Chinese spot, so I came across this place on Google. Tried it out & I was NOT disappointed. Food was fresh & delicious. Great service as well. Only negative is the can soda was almost $3. Will definitely be going back!

One of our neighbors recommended this place. My daughter ordered from City Lights on Christmas Eve. The food was good. The takeout order was packaged nicely. They even gave an abundant quantity of red chili oil hot sauce (we like it spicy). The biggest surprise was the service. In fact, the service on the phone and in person was excellent. Most Chinese restaurants in Bethesda and Potomac are ill mannered and just plain rude. City Lights was a welcome surprise with their friendly service. I will be ordering from here again.

A large menu with a variety of dishes. Excellent service from Mimi. Large portions. And they have plum wine.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Bethesda! Nice decor, good food in a friendly neighborhood type place. Very unassuming and unpretentious. The portions are perfect and the prices are reasonable

Love this place - have been going here to 10 years. Always solid - cannot remember them making one since mistake ever. Spinach and tofu soup is great as is the king pao! My wife loves the City Lite menu.

This asian flair restaurant is the perfect place to take your family. They have an excellent selection of healthy, Asian flavored food with limited choices for those who want more variety! The miso soup will be sure not disappoint - it's yummy and comes free on most orders so order away without worry (or guilt). If you're looking at taking someone here who doesn't like spicy foods then don't worry because they offer mild versions too; everyone can enjoy everything here including themselves since there are plenty seats available inside where kids also feel welcome during their visit

Overall a solid first experience. I avoided the Uber Eats route for delivery because calling them direct is cheaper. Food got here and I started to tear it up. Here's my feedback: -Steamed dumplings, really good and authentic tasting! I'm impressed honestly, very unexpected. I'm used to the ubiquitous fried dumplings that all other fast Chinese restaurants offer. -Hunan chicken, whoa mama its spicy! But the veggies are perfectly cooked (not droopy and mushy) and the sauce doesn't feel at all greasy. Really savory flavor too. -The shining star though is the crispy shredded beef. More expensive on the menu, but damn if this isn't the one. Order this if its your first time. Really delicious, and plentiful quantity. -Fried rice, terrible. I read other reviews that said the same thing. What's up with that? So I had to subtract a star honestly, as this is a rudimentary thing that all fast Chinese spots should be banging out well. Definitely ordering again and trying their other dishes.

Excellent food! The staff has done a great job with preparing the food and handing it off to me while picking the order up in person. City Lights is doing a great job under the difficult time that we are experiencing! The Sesame Chicken is a family favorite!

Stopped by for carry out. Very impressed! Orange beef w/ fried rice was delicious. Served fast, fresh & hot. Couldn't wait to get home so had a few bites before I drove away. Worth every penny - great staff! YUM!

When City Lights of China is “on”, it produces high quality Chinese food. Have tremendously enjoyed roasted duck; shrimp and scallops in garlic sauce; pork dumplings; Singapore noodles; sautéed spinach and sautéed eggplant and basil. Unfortunately, consistency can be a problem from time to time: I’ve had the periodic dull meal from City Lights, too. Wish that the high quality could be relied on.

Clean and inviting. Delicious food. Ordered spring rolls and fried dumplings for appetizers. They were excellent. Really enjoyed the flavor of the pork in the dumplings. Also had veggie lo mein, chicken and broccoli, and spicy kung pao chicken. All were devoured and enjoyed, and the kung pao was actually spicy. Lots of hot peppers cooked with the food, which is how I like it. Will be back soon. Extra bonus is easy parking right in front. (Not common for restaurants in Bethesda.)

Delicious Peking Duck from here. We ordered over the phone in advance for a big order, and it was extremely easy to communicate. Nothing was missing.
