I have to say that this place was absolutely fantastic on both occasions I've been here. The food is inventive, delicious, fresh and high quality. The service is quick, attentive (I literally had my drink refilled 6x during lunch) and the staff was dressed in cool outfits (but not a traditional uniform). The bar looked very cool and I like that they have a happy hour. The tuna was great, the venison fresh and delicious, and the Mac n cheese decadent. But I gotta say that the steak was top notch and the mushrooms we're absolutely amazing. I've had the filet and the ribeye. I'm a local and I will return. I will have all my lunch meetings here. I can't say enough good things. Missing out on this place would be a mistake. Much better than Morton's or Ruth Chris and better priced. I will definitely check out the happy hour.

I recently visited George’s to treat my GF to a birthday dinner. We booked a table via OpenTable which was quick and easy. We arrived at to our 9pm reservation and were seated right away.
The restaurant decor was nice and they had live music playing. Our server Jeff was very knowledgeable and attentive. I would highly suggest the ribeye or sirloin steak. The lobster was also very delicious when added to our steak entree.
My only suggestion to the overall experience would be for the restaurant to offer fresh bread and butter as a complimentary starter to their guests. I would have even purchased the bread and butter for a small up charge if one was offered.
The banana bread pudding was amazing and we were quite pleased with our whole dinner experience. We’ll be visiting again soon!

What a great deal for a simple but very nice and tasty all-you-can-eat weekday prime-rib lunch package in a classic and very tastefully decorated setting!
The AYCE selection is limited to a few items, featuring the prime rib, selected sides (in our case it was pasta, roasted potatoes and roasted veggies), a salad bar, a soup of the day and selected fruits. With limited selection, the quality of the food was very good and fresh.
The service was top notch, we'll definitely be back!

My friend and I went for their lunch buffet and it was incredible! Everything from the food, layout, and service were exceptional! I was actually even surprised about the price, for a prime rib buffet, it was very reasonable. I was impressed. There was a slight of mess up with our drinks and the manager, Nathaniel, came over and smoothed things over. Just a great experience!

Let me preface this review by saying that I absolutely hate going to Bethesda. I avoid Bethesda as much as possible. However, I was eager to go to George's Chophouse to see what all the buzz was about.
I have had many steaks in my life, and I can't think of a time when I had one as succulent and delicious as this. The food was perfectly seasoned and the state came out hot, even though it was a busy night. My parents went there the other night and told me they had an incredible experience, too.
Unlike other steakhouses with more recognizable names, the restaurant is appropriately lighted, the flavor and preparation of the food is better, and you absolutely feel like the price you paid was fair for your entire experience by the time you leave the restaurant.
The look and feel of the restaurant, also, is very clean, welcoming, yet professional. Having gone to another one of Chef Al's restaurants, I wouldn't expect anything less.
Thank you for an amazing dining experience. You make going to Bethesda worth it.

The atmosphere is warm and very laid back. The host found us a table right away and we were all curious about the decorations as there was such a mixture of hipster and classic decor. The waitress was very knowledgeable and was able to provide unique details regarding the design and history of the restaurant. Two of us ordered the Salmon Wellington entree and the other two ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were DELICIOUS though I was wasn't big on the sauce on the noodles. However, the portion sizes were quite large. The salmon was out of this world and melted in your mouth! I would certainly return and try other dishes. The drinks were great too. The prices are very reasonable. I'm still giving a 5 because this is one spot that is worth visiting again and again.

Ordered the seared pork chop with apple chutney, sweet potato mash, and beet greens. It was fantastic!! The pork was out of this world. The sides were phenomenal also and I've never had beet greens before. Since trying, I've become quite the fan. Overall, the food was incredible and I cannot wait to come back. Luckily, my in-laws live close so a visit in the near future will be warranted. The bartender Allen was very friendly and made us forgo our table reservation because his company was awesome..
Will definitely be back and will be visiting Al's other restaurants.

My new favorite Steakhouse in the area. Surprisingly casual, in a good way! You can't beat the happy hour specials. The house red wine is probably the best I've had locally. Also, you must try the bacon strip steak appetizer. It is so good, especially when you put some on the sliders...yum...Will definitely come back over and over and over...

As soon as my husband and I walked through the door, we knew we had found a hidden gem. George's Chophouse has a wonderful vibe, and the service was spectacular. Our server, Alex, was extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He was able to describe the dishes in exquisite detail, and he provided honest recommendations on his favorite dishes.
The menu is extensive and wonderfully descriptive. For starters, we ordered the venison tartare and the cured salmon. We loved the creative complexity of each dish, and presentation was beautiful. The flavors were balanced and the accompanying bread was soft and hot. We were expecting the venison to be gamey, but it was pleasantly mild and delicate. The portions were generous, and the food came out quickly, which we appreciated since we were starving!
For entrees, we ordered the boneless ribeye and the lobster thermider. Huge portions, wow! The steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare), and the lobster was very tender! The flavors were exceptional and balanced.
For dessert, we had the key lime pie, which was smooth, creamy, and full of key lime flavor.
As we dined, Chef Ashish Alfred came by to see how we were enjoying our meal, which was so nice! The entire staff was friendly and never let our glasses get empty before refilling. After each course, they cleared our plates quickly and efficiently. Loved every minute of the experience!

The meal was fabulous from start to finish. Chef Al’s food is fresh, creative and delicious. My cured salmon with beets was made with a twist, the salmon Wellington was gone in less than 10 minutes and the lamb shank fell off the bone. My steak was prepared via sous vide, trapping in all of the flavor. The meal was made all the more perfect with the incredible service provided by Jules. He was knowledgeable, attentive and made sure that we were never in need of anything. Haven’t had a good meal like this in ages. Make a reservation ASAP! Well done!

For starters, our server, Jules, was phenomenal. We were celebrating our anniversary and Jules was so attentive and helpful. The food was amazing. I cannot say enough about the Foie Gras, Tomahawk steak, Lobster Thermidor or the Brussels Sprouts. Ho.Lee.Cow. We had the baked Alaska and the 7 layer chocolate cake for dessert. It's by far the best meal I've ever had ever. The staff presented us with a card for anniversary too, so incredibly touching!! We WILL be going back!

Honestly the best meal I have ever had !!! Tomahawk ribeye. So good. Shrimp cocktail. Oysters , spinach. Salad was bomb. Also. They were so nice to stay open late for my gfs bday. It was an amazing experience. With wonderful service !!!! 5 stars. Alll day !!!

Celebrated the birthday of three friends tonight at George’s Chophouse in Bethesda. The service and food was five star. My only complaint and it is a deal breaker was the fact that they are not handicap accessible. They have an extremely small bathroom that is well below the Americans with Disabilities Act. When it was brought to the attention of the management, they acknowledged the problem and stated that the owner is aware and may have been grandfathered in to remain under code. He evidently is not concerned enough to make some mandatory changes. I can’t believe they are allowed to remain open or have passed any restaurant inspections.
A would have been, could have been wonderful experience was negated by their insensitivity to a group of people who have medical challenges.

Ok the food is out of this world. Too damn good! But the servers are ok. I thinks some of them lack sense of humor and customer skills. Just that basic human touch. And the place has no wifi! I had to go outside to call. Ridiculous in this day and age! Also we were there at 5:30 and we asked if there was happy hour. The server told us yes but only at the bar and not if you are seated at the table. We asked if we can get our drinks from the bar and then come sit at the table. He said he has to check with the manager. He came back saying actually happy hour is only Mon-Fri. How come a waiter doesn't know that!! Weird. Other than the service and no wifi, we loved the place. Train your staff to be human and not robots please. And her wifi! Oh we were told it's only for the POS!!! So they do have wifi I guess???!!!

Went last night for opening night dinner. Food was fantastic! The steak I had was cooked to perfection and the mushrooms I ordered as a side were delicious. Presentation of the food is modern and cool as is the restaurant around it. You’d be doing your tastebuds a disservice if you don’t go check this place out!
