Insanely good ! I love the chicken, it has been consistently good the last 10 years. The sauces are also amazing. I could eat the green sauce with anything. I think the sides are great too, especially rice and beans, plantain and yucca.
My only feedback, which you can see in the photo, is it’s not clear why the “Fiesta” meals are actually more expensive than buying separately. Sides cost £4.75 individually (not pictured). I wish I understood that, because why should someone get the fiesta meal?
The taste and the portion are pretty good. The price is affordable. The price for these meals in total is $33.61. There is a good variety of food. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. We loved it here.
Fast and delicious. We ordered a big meal for 5 people (including 2 kids) and we all ate, felt satisfied and had leftovers. Bathroom was clean and we felt safe during Covid. The music was kind of loud when we first got there but we just asked them to please turn it down.
I love Don Pollo! Tastes great, large portions, very reasonable prices. The chicken has always had a nice balance of seasoning, been juicy and tasted overall delicious for me. Their yucca has a subtle yet delicious seasoning to it. It's crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and it comes in a huge portion as far as sides go: definitely a must if you are hungry. The corn pico is also tasty. It's about $28 for a whole chicken with two sides which can easily feed three people with a large appetite, if not four. This deal for the quality and quantity is very rare for the DMV area. This is the only location I've ever been to, so I can't speak for the others. Bon appétit !
Great chicken and customer service. You can order online. The rice is perfect el dente. The plantains are divine.
I ordered veggie platter with Chaufa because plantains wasn’t included on the online form. Ah well 😢 chaufa is Peruvian version of Chinese fried rice 🍚 with dark soy sauce.
Excellent chicken and sides. Definitely a healthy choice. Chicken, beans and rice, yuka, plantains, etc... all delicious. A local favorite for sure. No need to call ahead. The service is very fast. If you choose to call ahead your order will be ready for pick up when you get there. A good location, close to the mall, but not bothered by the mall parking lot traffic. Spaces are narrow but there is plenty of parking. If you have a large vehicle and are worried about the narrow spaces you can park in the mall lot just on the other side of Corner Bakery and it's an easy and convenient walk to Don Pollo from there.
Nice quarter chicken meal with the yucca and plantains. Everything I expected from a pollo spot. No complains about the food or service. They did tell me I had to pay extra for the sauce after the fact I gotten my food, I think you should put the sign where you pay so you don’t have to get back in line just to get sauce. There sauce here is so good.
Service was great, place was clean, food was tasty. Chicken was a little dry but it was closer to the end of the day.

I have been coming to this location since it opened. The chicken is excellent, and you can choose from nearly a dozen sides including yucca and plantains (unlike some competitors who do not include these ... I know really?) Pictured is a half chicken dark meat with a side of yucca and salad ($9.95) PLUS an extra side of yucca ($3.75). Great deal and all excellent. I come here at least once every two weeks for their chicken.
This was my first time trying Don Pollo and I was impressed by their friendliness. Their food was delicious and the portions were filling. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this place.
My favorite Peruvian style chicken in the DMV. The chicken is seasoned differently, and is most definitely crispier than other spots. Folks that work there are friendly, the place is clean, and the price is right.
