3.50 for a soda? Better put that on the menu because that is ridiculous. Got a side of veg instead of added to the dish so that was my bad. Either way it was pretty lackluster for the price.
Curry was low quality and with the coconut milk tasted slimy rather then rich. A strange smoke flavor masked everything and didn't fit in the dish.
Soup was standard affair you see at any asian place. Sad that i enjoyed it the most out of this meal.

I have traveled all over the US and this is one of the best Chinese food places I've ever had!
Wonton soup had tons of dumplings, chicken, broccoli, and carrots. Orange chicken was phenomenal, and the egg rolls were huge and delicious. It's a must hit, especially if you are in one of the hotels on the block.

Atmosphere was super elegant for a simple lunch. Delicious food! Gotta love when these places take the simple dishes just as serious as the main attractions.

My first taste of Buddha’s Delight at the Tao New Asian told me there would be no doggie bag tonight. Every bit of food on the plate was fresh and neither over- or under-cooked. The flavor was not only completely original but left a pleasing aftertaste.
You don’t leave a bite of this kind of food on the plate. Forty years of good Asian meals have I enjoyed but never before as wonderful as this.
My wife has just entirely cleaned out the Seafood Hot Pot and she agrees.
Six stars if we could give them!

Great spot in the corner next to Old Chicago across from Costco. Nicely designed, simple, lots of seating.
Service: Professional service, not overbearing and quick to get refills. Good insight on sone dishes and the sushi.
Food: crab puffs were good, nothing out of the ordinary. Cali roll was good especially w the eel sauce and spicy Mayo. The orange chicken dish had large pieces, batter was good, ordinary flavor. Fried rice seemed like mostly brown rice. Egg drop soup wasn’t as light as other egg drop soups and had a beef brothy taste. Sweet Thai dish was also good, shrimp cooked well.
The food was good, nothing extraordinary but definitely good.

Nicely decorated place. Drinks were tasty. Drunken noodles are great. Prefect blend of flavors, spiciness adds to the flavor not just covers up all other flavors. This will be my go to place in Billings.

I recommend the Buddha pot. The staff is great and the menu contains many vegetarian options.

Friendly folks in a pleasant atmosphere. We had Kung Pao and Chef's special. Very nice taste. I would ask for extra spicy if you like spicy food.

Not good. The Sunset roll at a whopping $19 was fishy tasting and the gristly salmon was very light pink. Did not appear or taste fresh. The Szechuan Chicken was overwhelmed with too much sauce. Other than a little heat there was not much flavor other than an odd off taste I can't put my finger on. They were all small portions – the wonton soup had one wonton. Service was very slow. There was only one server for a Friday lunch, and she tried hard but it was lacking.

Worst sushi in Billings. Of the six restaurants currently serving sushi in Billings, as of this review, Tao is the worst. The ingredients didn't seem fresh, and thus left a lot to be desired. Prices are in par with the most expensive alternatives. From their standard rolls, to their most expensive specialty offerings, the one common theme was the deficit in quality. The restaurant doesn't offer a dedicated sushi bar and it shows. There are better options at the same, or even less, price point.

If you like good Asian food.... Since the 'Four Seas' left Billings (what a sad day that was!) Good luck finding any decent Chinese food in this town. That is until Tao New Asian got here. Now, it's pricey, and I don't know that they deliver, but it's really good food and a larger variety than you get most places too. Would love to see them in a more central location, but for now will settle on having to go to the West End for a treat.

Loved my meal. I was traveling through and thought I would try this place out. The door seemed to be locked but it was just stuck. I pulled hard and it opened. I entered and was warmly greeted. The menu is diverse. The food was delicious and they accommodated my special requests without hesitation. I could have ate the peanut sauce it was so tasty and my chicken was juicy and flavorful. It brought back memories of visiting Japan. The atmosphere was very relaxing with peaceful music. The service was excellent. I loved the entire experience.

User reviews. Best asian fusion in town. Seems like an west coast asian restuarant. Great flavors, fresh veggies and perfectly prepared. Eat there all the time and never disapointed.

The cook (who was hanging out in the parking lot) actually ran ahead of us and locked the door so we couldn't go in! It was 6:00 on a Sunday, and they don't close until 9! This is one place I won't mind seeing close it's doors PERMANENTLY!!!

LOVE IT. We've been several times now and have tried several items. There are literally almost too many items to choose from! Somehow we muddle through. :-) Our family from age 11 to 66 ALL intend to return.

Never order from xpress delivery from this restaurant. They use cheap products of meat. It was the worst take out we have ever had. For the price we paid we should have been eating something fascinating. The sushi rolls were very warm. We spent 40. Dollars plus a delivery fee. Could have went to the grocery store and microwaved something better for alot cheaper.

Not good...at all. After driving 9 hours in a semi truck with the hubby we finally got to Billings from Denver. I had been craving Yakisoba for months and was so happy to stumble across Tao New Asian. We drove over to the restaurant and ordered the yakisoba and pot stickers. The beef had absolutely no taste and they used lo mein noodles instead of yakisoba noodles, there was no seasoning =(
The potstickers were mushy and had no flavor, I was so sad. The only decent food we ate in Billings was at Softies with the biggest ice cream cone I had ever seen! And as fate would have it we will be in Billings again this weekend. Any suggestions for good food? Im really not all that picky =) Email me at sld325@hotmail.com if you come up with anything.

DELISH. Lettuce wrap appetizer was wonderful. My friend who is a yakisoba snob said it was the best he'd ever had. My Tao Roll sushi was as delicious as it was beautiful. Maybe some staffing issues, long wait for food, waitresses literally running down the hall, hopefully that will be corrected soon. Can't wait to go back!

We loved it!. On our first visit, my husband and I picked up take out one night and loved it. We decided to return to dine in on a different night. Loved it again! There were a few minor issues that come with any new restaurant, but they were minor. Flavors were very good without being too overpowering, sauces were light and delicious not sticky, heavy and bland. Will return again.

DON'T ORDER IT TO GO!. My husband and I ordered the beef peas lunch combo, shrimp peas lunch, extra rice, and the potstickers. The potstickers were very mushy and over cooked. The egg roll that came with the beef combo tasted like cardboard, but at least it had A flavor since the rest of the food was bland. Even the pad thai included with the beef combo. The worst part of our experience was the customer service. We had ordered through Cafe Courier (a whole different review for them...) When we received our order we let CC know that we did not receive rice with either the beef peas lunch, or the extra rice. (The extra rice was $2.) We received a call from Cafe Courier stating that the owners of Tao refused to give us more rice since they were insisting that they had put it in our order and they were basically calling us liars. Now, keep in mind, this is not shrimp, beef, or even fried rice we are talking about. We are talking about steamed rice. Which, would have cost them about $.10 in rice for both portions we were missing and that is with me giving them some credit to having to pay hourly wages and utilities. If it wasn't for the fact that rice takes so long to cook, I would have just made some myself and not bothered with ordering rice from them in the first place.
MORAL OF THE STORY IS: IF YOU FOOD IS GOING TO BE BLAND AND TASTELESS, THEN YOU SHOULD AT LEAST HAVE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE SO THAT YOUR RESTAURANT HAS SOMETHING GOING FOR IT.
Lisa Madsen
Not impressed. The Thai iced tea tasted like creamy water and the food was pretty bland.

PERFECT!!!. I've been travel to some cities such as Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur in Asia. New York, Las Vegas, Minnesota, California and Seatle in USA. This is the PERFECT one ever! Perfect ambience! Perfect Food! Perfect Service! Will definitely recommend to my relatives, friends and clients.

My new favorite Chinese Restaurant!. We had dinner here on a Friday evening. The employees were very friendly, professional and helpful. The decor is beautiful. It is tastefully decorated and feels a bit more "upscale" than the other Chinese places in Billings. The prices, however, were right on par with the Billings market.
The food was wonderful! It was pretty to look at. There were plenty of fresh veggies that were cooked to perfection. I had Volcano Chicken and loved that the pieces of chicken were not cut into such large pieces. Most Chinese restaurants don't give you a knife to cut them! Tao does give you a knife but you don't really need it. It was spicy (hence, VOLCANO chicken) but wasn't wildly hot. I thought it was perfect.
This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant and I will definitely go back.

Prices are unreasonably high for sushi. Sushi was good, but I absolutely loathe when sushi places use canned tuna. I expected better for the price.

Tao New Asian is amazing and great the sushi and asian is excellent!I give this ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

Just Right. Food & service were both very good. I had the Orange Chicken which had a lot of orange flavor with out the overly sweet yuck that many recipies have. Will return again!
