My husband and I recently stopped at the Red Rocker Inn Restaurant for dinner during our honeymoon. We loved it! The inn is lovely and the food is absolutely delicious! We also lucked out and stopped by while they were offering free dessert with any entree to celebrate their 10th anniversary. The dessert list is about 10-12 deep and they are to die for! They also include a gluten-free option, which I appreciated with my dietary needs. My husband ordered a peanut butter ice cream pie with an Oreo crust that was huge and was absolutely amazing (I enjoyed a few bites without the crust). We enjoyed a lot of good food throughout our honeymoon, but this was one of my favorite dinners! We definitely would consider going back and recommend it to friends and family.
Went tgere with my family for the dinner and Christmas show. We had the best dinner, prime rib, delicious mashed potatoes and seasoned green beans. Fresh hot biscuits and french onion soup. My choice for dessert was the orange creme cake... omg to die for. I ate the hole thing! Now about the show... we had so much fun and the Christmas Story was awesome. Thanks for a great evening.
Lovely B&B and restaurant. The staff was wonderful and the meal we were served for dinner was amazing. The owner went to the trouble of searching online about Black Pepper allergies bc I'm allergic to Black Pepper. BC of his search he and the chef were able to suggest dinner alternatives I could eat. My husband and I were very much impressed with our meal and with the staff. They even put a candle on my dessert bc it was my birthday 😊 My husband and I will definitely return to The Red Rocker Inn.
Amazing place; beautiful rooms; wonderful owners, and best breakfast and dinner in Black Mountain! Our new favorite spot. We will be back!! :-)
I stumbled upon The Red Rocker Inn Bed & Breakfast and Restaurant and totally FELL for it. (Yes, the puns were intended!!)
The RRI completely delivers ~ Warm Classic Southern Hospitality.
I was transported in time to a place of quiet, gracious hospitality. Everything was spot on, from the beautiful southern place-settings, to the hot, homemade from scratch delectable biscuits. Tasty apple butter to die for. (Not in a “it’s killing me kind of way”.)
I attempted to devour the ribeye but alas the shear size did me in. It was one of those, my tastebuds want more but my stomach said you’ve hit the wall Sally. The green beans were young and tender and seasoned perfectly. And the mashed potatoes..... as some of my beloved relatives would say were “smack you Momma delicious”.
If given the opportunity y’all have got to give it a try. I know I’ll be back!!
Exquisite food. Everything our party of 6 had was great — trout, spaghetti squash entree, pot roast. Warm biscuits with apple butter came first. Excellent wines. Surely this is the best restaurant in Black Mountain.
I would recommend this place to anyone. It is like going back in time. Each room is different and beautifully done. Our family did Thanksgiving weekend and the inn keeper and his wife put on an awesome Thanksgiving meal. Loved sitting on the front porch and strolling through the town.
The Red Rocker is a place that I don't get to visit as often as I would like , but always worth the wait and trip. The staff, the food, the atmosphere and the patrons as well are just the greatest.

First time at bed and breakfast. Loved it.
Wonderful place. Highly recommend.
Absolutely love eating here! Best ribeye steak I have ever eaten...twice now. The staff are phenomenal!!
Seriously was amazing. I've grew up in black mountain and have never ate there. Friday night we ate dinner and then we had breakfast this morning. So worth it!
We celebrated New Years Eve with a delicious dinner at The Red Rocker Inn. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. The food was INCREDIBLE! Every person raved over their dish, kids included! We will surely be back. Thank you for making our night so special!
Best sleep I've had in years. Outstanding breakfast buffet to start the day. Thanks Doug and Jenny for a great experience!
Just left today. We have been coming since I was a child to eat and I surprised hubby with a stay. Great food, friendly staff. You can't go wrong with this quaint, special place
I love Red Rocker Inn !!!!!!! Love to introduce my friends to this beautiful B and B!!!!! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is perfect....Always consistent.....
Our family of 36 gathered from 8 states for our triennial reunion, staying for 3 nights at the Red Rocker Inn. It was perfect for our family. The Inn was beautiful, all of the rooms worked out very well, loved the gathering spaces in the living rooms, front porch and side lawn. The food was scrumptious! The location was in walking distance to shops and restaurants. And Doug and Jenny were very helpful with answering questions about the area.
My wife and I went there to celebrate my in laws Anniversary. The service was fantastic, and Savannah was the only waitress in our area. She was prompt, polite, and even laughed at our jokes. Did a great job serving us. The food was really good. Enjoyed my pork chop. It was perfectly cooked. Everyone in our dinner was each as happy with their order as I was. Wine selection was really good. Prices were fair, and you got a lot for your money. I highly recommend this restaurant. Didn't spend the night, but I could only imagine it would be great too. Owners are really nice people.
My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Red Rocker Inn this past weekend. Mike & Katy were such fine hosts. Dinner was superb. The pork chop special is the best I've ever had...anywhere! Will be back soon!
My wife and I took our first road trip since the start of the pandemic to attend a folk music convention in Black Mountain, NC. On the advice of a friend who lives in Asheville, we booked a room here. We had a memorably wonderful stay of 8 days. The century-old mansion has been beautifully upgraded and is well maintained, and there is an in-house restaurant that serves delicious meals, with an included breakfast each morning that can be any one of several on the menu. An added attraction is a bakery offering scrumptious baked goods attached to one end of the building. Downtown Black Mountain, with several good coffee shops, restaurants, and White Horse|Black Mountain, a delightful new music venue, is just a short stroll away. Our room was extremely pleasant and comfortable, and the Red Rocker Inn host and hostess could not possibly have been nicer or more accomodating. We're already planning our next visit.
Awesome stay! The staff was busy, but did great taking care of us. The breakfast was excellent! I tried a different dish all 3 mornings, and all were delicious. The location was ideal; quiet and peaceful yet still close to everything!
Wow! What a gem! We tried the restaurant out for a late brunch and highly recommend. From the charming atmosphere, unparalleled attentive service, to delicious high quality food, and amazing coffee...we were thrilled to have discovered this perfect (not so hidden) gem. This climbs the list to top brunch in Black Mountain!
The Red Rocker was recommended to us for our visit to the Asheville area and we were not disappointed. It's an old home so there are some creeks and character. But our bathroom was newly renovated and the AC made our room more than comfortable during our stay in the peak summer heat.
It is a short walk from downtown Black Mountain, but far enough away that there's no noise or traffic. You may also choose to walk around the charming surrounding residential streets.
Breakfast is included. But do yourself a favor and also plan to eat dinner there at least one night of your stay.
A stay during the week as opposed to a weekend might make your stay and meals less crowded.
First time staying at a Bed and Breakfast. This B&B has amazing charm and we enjoyed every moment. Perfect location, comfortable beds and amazing atmosphere. We enjoyed relaxing on the front porch.
BEST INN ever🌟 Delicious breakfast menu choices, wonderful rooms, comfy beds, fun yard games & perfect location !!! The owners are welcoming hosts of this most charming inn. On Friday morn, 6/8 the temp started at 47 degrees and around 8:45am we see a black bear (juvenile) across at the neighbors-right outside the breakfast windows~AWESOME sighting [got on video]!!! HIGHLY recommend Red Rock Inn ~ we will return ;)
Went for a one night stay for our anniversary. First time staying here, we have at here a few times over the year and it has always been good. The room was decorated nice and very clean. The manager was extremely nice and helpful. Went out of her way to make sure we were took care of and exceeded all of our expectations. She's cares about her job and making sure the quest enjoy their stay and it shows. Can't wait for our next trip.
We had a group of 10 to visit the Red Rocker. I have been many times in the past and this was no disappointment. The food was fabulous and everyone had a great time. I also love the new dates and times.
The perfect place for a family getaway! My husband and I stopped for what was supposed to be one night on our way down to Florida. We had so much fun in the area that we ended up staying an extra night. Food and service were great, and the rooms were super comfortable. Mike (owner) was very helpful and was super knowledgeable about the history of the building itself and the history of the surrounding area. We will definitely be back!
Out of town guests for brunch. Food excellent. Service gracious. Lovely setting. Will bring guests again.
Beautiful place! Loved the breakfast and 2 dinner experiences we had. The food was delicious, even though we didn't get the appetizer we had ordered on our first evening! It was a little different this time from last year. Check out wasn't explained when checking in. The information sheets that used to be in the rooms weren't there this time. At breakfast, we didn't really have someone come to check on us enough, and when we didn't want to wait around anymore, we just left. Since breakfast was included with the room, we didn't worry about that too much. We had to check out before 8 this morning and my husband walked through the whole downstairs area to find someone and no one was around. We both had heard voices but when he looked, no one was there. So, he left the key with a note on the desk.
Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I had ever slept in away from home! The whole place gives off a very peaceful vibe. Just needs a bit more customer service detail to keep people coming back.
Great place to stay! Nice rooms, great breakfast, friendly staff! Short walk to downtown Black Mountain! We look for ward to staying there again! Bonus with Four Sisters Bakery right there!!
We so enjoyed coming back to an experience we knew would not disappoint.
The room, the kindness, and the food. Oh the food was fantastic! Pork chops which I just had to ask about the secret…and Doug shared his wisdom. The coconut cake will convert you to love coconut. It is light as a cloud and not cloyingly sweet. Sorry, we ate ours before we remembered to take a photo to share with you. The landscaping, the neighborhood for an enjoyable walks (many!), short walk to downtown Black Mountain, and well, I can keep going on and on about everything we enjoyed. Not a single negative.
We had 24 hours of utter relaxation, fun, and laughing. Thank you, Jenny and Doug for being such a wonder christian family business. Starting our breakfast (which is fabulous and very generous!), with a prayer, amazing. We are eager to come back again and again.
We just spent the weekend at Red Rocker Inn and what a lovely and relaxing place to stay !! The staff is just wonderful, Crystal and Jennifer take care of their guests!
The breakfasts were yummy and the chef and wait staff are super as well! We loved our Savannah room very much !
