The general taste of the coffee and espresso is brighter/more acidic, which isn't to my taste. However, the other beverages and food items are tasty.
This is always the busiest Coffee Hound in town. If you get in before the rush, (8AM) you will avoid a line, but on the weekends, the line is usually a good 10 minute wait. So be prepared for that! They also usually don't offer order ahead during these times because they are just too busy. The drinks are always consistent. I'm currently on the Honeybee Latte train lately which is honey and lavender. Try the milk substitutes if you're open to it! Oat milk is my go-to and adds a more creamy texture to your dink.
Came here as our first stop on a girls weekend. Enjoyed our drinks so much we returned the next day for another round.
I may have bought two different long-sleeve shirts/crewnecks because I love this place so much. Got the mocha freeze for the first time and it was delicious!
Amazing coffee shop, inside a very cool historical building , this shop offers all the good coffee you want. Don't miss out.
The Coffee Hound, a haven for those in search of the essence of life, brewed and presented in a cup.
The staff, they're more than just servers, they're masters of their craft. Their passion for coffee and for service is evident in their eyes, in their smiles, in the careful precision with which they brew each cup. They are not merely workers, but artists, their canvas the ceramic of your coffee cup, their paint the liquid gold they pour into it.
It’s a dance, and they are the dancers, the coffee - their music.
The atmosphere, it's not just the ambience, but the soul of the place. The walls whisper stories of people who've sat and shared their lives over a cup of coffee. The soft hum of quiet conversation, the comforting background noise of the grinding beans, the smell of the roast - it's a symphony for the senses. The air holds a sense of warmth, a sense of community, a sense of belonging. It's not just a coffee shop, it's a place where hearts meet, where minds find solace, where souls find respite. 🙏🏻
I had both of the single origin pour overs that were being offered, as well as a cranberry scone. My companion had a traditional cappuccino. Everything was fantastic: I can tell that they're dialing in their coffees and espresso in the morning to ensure they taste as good as they possibly can, and the scone was fresh, possibly made in house, or from some local bakery. I can't get over how Bloomington seems (on the surface) to be a small, somewhat sleepy city, but still manages to have one of the best coffee shops I've ever visited. If I ever end up in town again, I know where to get coffee!
Stopped by on our route to Chicago for an iced matcha latte & a bite to eat. The decor is super cute and I enjoyed looking at the art while I waited. About 10-12 people were in line ahead of me when I arrived but the line moved pretty quickly so it was only a 10min wait to order and another 4-5min to receive my order.
I was going to try the avocado toast but the I saw it being made while waiting in line— eggs (hard boiled), avocado smashed up, and bacon were on the counter in plastic bins (possibly on ice? I couldn’t see exactly) and the toast was assembled on the counter. Didn’t look too appealing to me so opted to just stick to the matcha. I asked for the ice in a separate cup so my matcha didn’t get watered down while I ate breakfast (elsewhere) and they happily obliged.
The matcha latte was delicious! Nice and cold even w/o the ice. And just as good once I dumped the ice inside.
I stopped by one of the gender neutral bathrooms while waiting for my order and it was very clean, decorated well, but not well stocked. I used up the last tiny bit of toilet paper (literally 4 squares) that were left. Thankfully I had some options in my bag.
Favorite coffee place in town. I don't love sweet drinks, and all of their dairy-substitute lattes are fantastic - awesome flavor without the sweetness some of the other coffee shops have (you can add syrup if you want sweet!) Amazing pastries and sweets (catch the chocolate chip cookies if you can!) and a great place to hang out for a morning off of work.
Friendly baristas who consistently pour a cup of the best coffee in town. The atmosphere is laid back and perfect for meeting with friends or handling business.
The avocado toast is one of my favorites I've ever tried. I love the brewed coffee (black), the cold brew is delicious, the pour-overs are phenomenal, and I also love a hot mocha... either Mexican mocha or peppermint. My teens and husband also love a variety of choices. The teas and the mango smoothies are their top choices
