After living in Italy for 4 years, 32 years ago, I don't eat Italian in the USA. My wife wanted Italian and begged me to take her. I half-heartedly search the choices for Italian restaurants and this seemed to have the best chance of authenticity and taste.
You all!!! This place was amazing. The atmosphere reminds me just of an Italian restaurant overseas. This is like the front part of a restaurant where the mafia brings their family for dinner and celebrations lol. The place is nice and cozy!
The food choices are very similar to what you would see in Italy.... not like a lot of fakes with everything coming with some version of a tomato based sauce....or appetizers that don't have antipasti, calamari, bruschetta, etc.
The owner is very active in the store, meaning he's seating folks, taking orders, and talking with guests, in between bites of food at the bar. This guy is from Naples, about 2 hours north of where I used to live. I mean, this guy is so authentic, you can barely understand his English if you're not used to foreign accents.
The service was excellent.... the food is superb...I ate so fast, my 11 year old son made fun of me! I'll definitely be going back!

After reading some other reviews, I felt it necessary to comment on the wait time to get your food. Our appetizer was a cold dish, so it arrived fast. Our meals were hot plates, so it took barely longer than expected of a typical wait time at other restaurants. Keep in mind, 1, we were seated about 15 minutes before it got a little crowded. 2, the food was freshly made, so it wasn't the reheated food you normally get.
Reservations are definitely suggested for busy hours and on weekends. Very understaffed when we went just two people seating, serving and working the bar. Both were very nice and kept apologizing for the wait to be seated and attended. Food came fast and was not bad. Sauce was definitely the highlight, 90% sure noodles were pre-made product. Ordered the shrimp scampi and shrimp fettuccine.
We loved our dinner here! We started with the Calamari appetizer, perfectly fried! My husband had Veal Parmesean and I had Rigatoni Ala Vodka. Both were cooked perfectly and so delicious!! Our servers were Chris and Shannon. Both were working their tails off!! It was also nice to see the bartender help out refilling drinks since Chris and Shannon were busy. If/when we're in the area again we'll definitely be back.
We decided to give Nonna Rosa try after hearing via grapevine good reviews. My sons birthday dinner was perfect opportunity us try. Food was delicious and service was attentive. Pepee the owner stopped at table to chat and wish my son happy birthday! Highly recommend! We will defiantly be back!
Had dinner with out of town friends at Nonna Rosa tonight. Prices are good and the food and service were perfection. Cute neighborhood restaurant vibe. We were served our food by Peppe himself and he was delightful, charming, attentive - everything you would want in your server, yet alone the owner. Definitely will be regulars.

My fiance is a real lover of Meatballs and spaghetti and could tell the meatballs were frozen but he loved the sauce as for him tasted homemade. The spaghetti was the perfect texture aswell. My Spaghetti Cozze was devious. It sat in white wine sauce, a bit oily/buttery but went well with the mussels. They serve water Asa starter drink but you can order all types of alcohol
It was really good but it took a long time for our entree. Someone forgot to look at the slip. We weren't in a hurry.. But it was a nice night out. And the food was good. I do think they need more help on the weekend, but so doesn't everyone else .
First time at Nona Rosa. They were short staffed and asked for our patience, but we had a fast and pleasant experience! Food was excellent. We had the salad with house made mozzarella, the two dinner specials and a beer. Will definitely return.
Peppe is back! Best food we’ve ever had here! Even better than the old days. Peppe was away for a year. He’s back now and the place is running better than ever! We had fried calamari, chicken Parmesan and chicken Marsala. Very tender and delicious!
Love eating here, my top choice to go to. They are short staffed, but handle all the people well, and the food is well worth the wait. The owner Peppe is great to talk to, love the atmosphere!
Owner and staff were very kind and welcoming. Food was delicious, I haven't tried something I didn't like. Cocktails are also amazing!
First, the owner Giuseppe Gialone was a delight. He showed us to our table, took our order, explained the specials (in his charming Italian accent) and we experienced a wonderful Italian meal. The specials were just that, SPECIAL! Then he mentions a dessert that he said we probably have never had that we will just love. And we did. I cannot remember what it was called but it was perfect. It was like a combination cheese cake and creamy custard and it was incased in a warm flaky pastry crust. We will be back to Nona Rosa restaurant. Thank you Peppe you made our day!
We had the best time!! We are here visiting family for the weekend and popped into Nonna Rosa. We had a table of 7 on a Friday evening. The staff was so friendly! What we were the most impressed with was our server James and the other two young men about his age, Tommy and Max. All three of these young men are like 15,16, and just the best, most personable young men. The bartender was fun, the gentleman we believe was the owner came around a couple of times and was super nice. We really enjoyed our experience. Wish we had service like that where we lived! Thank you!!
We really enjoyed our experience. The pappardelle Alfredo was perfect and the chicken parm was very good. Atmosphere was friendly and warm and the server was very attentive. We felt like the owner genuinely cared that we had a good experience. We will go back again.
We had a such great meal last weekend. The owner Pepe waited on our table and we could have been more delighted. The food was fabulous.
