Update: been back several times and it has been fantastic each time! Consistant, delicious, and even won over my super picky family members!
Unexpectedly delicious! I didn't want to come here after having eaten really bland food in Austria, but my husband was insistant and I was won over with the flavors and the presentation. I had the potato pancakes and saurbraten, which were fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy and dark. Good selection of adult beverages, too. I will definitely be back!
I visited this truly German establishment on a Tuesday early evening after a rain, so it was pretty empty when we arrived, but soon more people came in. I started out with the Warsteiner Oktoberfest brew, which I liked a lot. The seafood stuffed mushrooms were very good, although the temperature was not. I wish they would have been hot out of the oven, but sadly weren't.
The catch of the day was a delish cod, covered in a lite sauce. The meal was highlighted by the strawberries & cream on rum cake dessert. I could eat that every night, yum.
We sat in the bar & the bartender served us. He was chatty & informative about the place & the menu, but when others arrived, he managed to serve us all without skimping on the hospitality. He truly made our visit more memorable. Loved the German music playing and would love to return just to hang out in the bar listening to that music.

This place was very nice. The atmosphere was great and the wait staff were friendly. I got the Saurbraten and it was absolutely incredible!! The entrees my family got we're all delicious too. For dessert I got the German Chocolate Cheesecake....oh my gracious! I highly recommend going here for a date night or for a party. Marvelous!!!
Wonderful dining experience!
We came in around 6:30 on a Monday night and they were full so the host suggested we dine at the bar (2 adults, 2 kids).
Both bartenders were awesome. Super friendly and attentive with good recommendations and superb food and drink knowledge.
The pretzel with beer cheese was delicious. I had the mixed platter which was the Thüringer (bratwurst), Pork Schnitzel, and Sauerbraten (short ribs), served with red cabbage and spätzle. Our 5 year old ate all of the sauerbraten! The schnitzel was crispy outside and well seasoned. I hadn’t had Thüringer for years and I loved every bite of it.
Our oldest son had the Jägerschnitzel and the mushroom sauce was so good especially with the spätzle. My husband ordered a pork special which was a monster but so tender and delicious.
We will be back for the food and the ambience
The food was AMAZING! I still can't get over how authentic their schnitzel is. The only downside was that they didn't have a kids menu, but that's understandable. It was a lot more high class than I had anticipated. I'll definitely be back though.
Wow! The schnitzel was awesome. Reminded me of the good times I had back in Germany. The red cabbage was off the chart! Great staff that made me feel at home. If you are ever in Bluffton, stop by for some true German food.
The pork schnitzel is delicious!!! The German chocolate cheesecake is heavenly!! The staff is so friendly and give great service!!
Actually loved it! The food was delicious and very much like what you would get in southern Germany. The decor was very inviting. Our server was Elisabeth and truly enjoyed her. She was just the sweetest thing. Definitely recommend and definitely will put this on our list of regular restaurants. If you like German food you have to try the Brauhaus!
This was an excellent experience. I went with my 9 year old daughter, just us. She was the only child in the restaurant. The server was awesome.She didn't judge us at all. My daughter loves to try new food. The chef even popped by the table and asked her how everything was. She gave him a thumbs up!!! The food was excellent. I absolutely recommend !!!!
