After stopping at the Bee Town Meadery, we went to Alvin Ord's sandwich shop next door. This place reminded me of a good deli in New York City or Northern Jersey as the sandwiches are huge besides being tasty. You can see we got a Reuben and the corned beef is piled on and piled on again. They didn't have rye bread, they had a type of French bread in their offerings. Something akin to a ciabatta in my opinion and when it came to the table it really complimented the corned beef, cabbage, and dressing. We got the large sandwich and ate 2/3 of it. We took the rest home for the next day. I was concerned the bread would get soggy, but this was not the case as it was still just as tasting the next day. I know we'll be back at the Meadery so I can guarantee we'll be back grabbing a different sandwich at Alvin Ord's.

OMG! This place was such a great find! The sandwiches are tremendous -- the bread they make is absolutely delicious. Generous portions. And the service was phenomenal -- patient with us, gave us "the pitch", and continually followed up to see that we were enjoying our food. We kept them until past closing time, and there were no complaints. Such friendly people working there, particularly Nicole. We will be back!!!

Ignore the negative reviews. If you want a great sandwich this is the place. Not a fancy place but fast friendly service. Self service drinks with cherry flavor syrup on the side if you want a cherry coke. We split the roast beef sandwich 🥪. Yes the sandwiches are a bit expensive, but the quality is worth it.

My rating is 3.5, rounded up to 4 for fast service & being pet-friendly. I ordered the Rachel and the sandwich was 75% sauerkraut, 15% cheese and 10% turkey. LoL Wasn't bad, just not anything particularly special or flavorful. Also got a chocolate chunk cookie which was hard as a brick and dry. Tried a brownie instead and that was soft and chewy. Had to pay extra for a pickle (all sides and toppings are extra). My companion had a roast beef sandwich and was satisfied, but said it wasn't anything to write home about. Not sure I'd want to come back and spend $15 for small sandwich, drink, chips & cookie again unless the food was better. But the service was quick and they do have an enclosed porch space for pets with water bowls outside.

The bread takes an ordinary sandwich and transforms it into extraordinary!

This place never disappoints. Their sandwiches are amazing and its because of the spin they do on their breads. Totally awesome french bread. Do not underestimate the size of the sandwiches. Lol So glad this restaurant is in Bluffton. Great addition! Try it if you haven’t- you will not be disappointed!

Great flatbread made in the store sandwiches. Parking is dicey with few places to sit both indoor and out. One of a kid and atmosphere and the food is worth the wait.

Great place to eat. The sandwiches are nice size and very good. The only problem is they don’t know what a Rachel is because a Rachel is made with coleslaw not sauerkraut.

I see all the reviews about the sandwiches, and I agree, they're great, but OMG, these salads!!!!! I ordered the taco salad and I thought it was PERFECT!!! I've found my new go-to and can't wait to come back!

I love Alvin Ord's! Great sandwiches and friendly people. I wish they had a location in my hometown. The French bread is just so delicious and the jalapeno bacon is a must on any sandwich!

What makes a sandwich really distinctive? The BREAD of course! This restaurant utilizes a monks recipe from the 1700s for a distinct flavor and truly unique experience. I always stop in when I get my Mercedes oil change in Bluffton.

Great sandwiches! I stumbled upon this place incidentally, as my husband was picking up a sandwich for a friend who was at work. I’ve never heard of it, so we decided to try it out ourselves. I’m pleasantly surprised and I know I’ll be back. I got the chicken salad sandwich, and as a chicken salad fanatic I must say it’s pretty perfect. Service was great as well. The young lady with dyed bangs was very pleasant and friendly. I now love this place!
